This is one of the best ryokan I have ever stayed in. Firstly, the location is right next to Gora Station, less than five minutes walk, which makes a big difference if you've come from, say, Tokyo to Hakone. Additionally, the rooms were comfortable and the private baths/balcony feature available for all rooms is lovely. The Double Western room we stayed in had the best of both worlds with the traditional Japanese bath and a comfortable bed (while futon are fine, we preferred a bed). Finally, the samue monk work clothes the hotel lends you to wear as sleepwear is so comfortable, my only complaint is that there are none available for purchase. Also, the hot spring bath facilities were great. We only used the shared not public ones, but they were clean, beautifully designed, and well ventilated (which is important for not getting overheated). Travellers take note: a lot of restaurants in the area close after 7pm, and the dinner set is on the pricier side, so best to plan your dinner accordingly. The restaurants we did try (notably an udon/soba place) was very good. And the nearby shuttle to Pola Art Museum/13 min from Hakone Open Air Art Museum make this a good hotel for art-lovers. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

Excellent service! It was very crowded at check in but the friendly staff greeted us and sat us down at sofa, also directed us to welcome drinks and snacks.
It was a bit hard to find driving to the hotel after sunset as it was tugged away in a small street.
5 minutes drive from Gora station, 7 min to Open Air Museum, and 15 min to 大涌谷 volcanic steam vent.
The in room private onsen was great!! Public bath was a little disappointing, it’s quite small and co-ed, usage so we need to wear swim suits which felt a little awkward.

Great service by the staff, beautiful location, the food for breakfast was excellent! Food outside the hotel take a walk and fills up quickly so it's recommended you take the meal option. Also, if you have full sleeve tattoos that can't be covered up, the Annex building is a great option for you, as many rooms have a private onsen.

There was some imperfections on the paper doors which didn't look nice, but besides its amazing. The vibe, garden and served food were amazing. Staff is really friendly and willing to help. Especially thankful to front desk girl who worked between 16:00-17:00 on May 12, i was getting late to my train, panicking, she helped me, even though barely speaked English, so I made it on time:)

I chose this hotel because I really liked the interior design.
They were very kind to me, providing a welcome drink and a polite response for my birthday surprise. I would like to use this hotel again.

The hotel receptionist should be from India or Pakistan, so language communication is difficult. The overall experience is good. The room is very large and quiet, and the breakfast is rich. For family trips, it is recommended to charter a car or take a taxi. The entire Hakone transportation is not very friendly to tourists, unless you have time and are not in a hurry to wait for the car.

It rained at night when we checked in. The waiter came to pick us up with an umbrella and helped us deliver our luggage to the room! Very cute ********* lady, it feels like living in the forest, the hot spring is very clean and comfortable, and the whole body is relaxed. After taking a bath, apple cider vinegar and ice cream were prepared thoughtfully. The breakfast is also very satisfactory, with rich variety, delicious curry rice and sweet fruits. There is also free coffee. We will stay here again next time we come to Japan, and the whole family is very satisfied.

Beautiful hotel!!! And very helpful staff. I love all the facilities in this hotel. There have a big onsen. The location is near the Ropeway just 15 minute. But from train station is a bit far by bus. There also have a welcome drink and snack bar. The breakfast was incredible, too many choice and delicious!! Overall, me and my family had a good time and love this hotel!!

Amazing
GGuest UserThis hotel is surprisingly good. Because we booked the hotel in Hakone late, the hotel at the foot of the mountain was probably fully booked. We were lucky to book a hot spring with a private bath. We had all our meals in the hotel. We had a French dinner and a Japanese breakfast and dinner. The butler service was very good and considerate. Those who stayed in the villa also had a battery car to pick up and drop off at the restaurant and public bath. The hotel is 50 minutes away from Hakone Yumoto Station and 30 minutes away from Gotemba. The transportation is not very convenient. It is suitable for people who like to stay in the hotel and enjoy themselves. We just like to relax in the hotel and not go to any attractions, so this hotel is not boring in the mountains.

JJojoGood location, good service, lots of snacks and drinks to pick up. There is still ramen in the evening, but I was too full to eat. The hot springs ♨️ The water was excellent, the temperature was strongly hot and the quality of the spring water was higher than at another hot spring hostel on my same journey. But it was because of the convenient location so there was no scenery for dinner in the evening fortunately it was a bit not very good to eat starches at the end. Although I eat in a restaurant in a small box in a room, I am always watching whether I have finished eating.

GGuest UserOverall, I am very satisfied with the hotel. I like the fufu brand very much. The service is very good. The hotel also has staff who can speak Chinese, so if you don't speak English or Japanese, don't worry. I like the hotel's breakfast very much. Thumbs up

AAliciaVery nice (and spacious - by tokyo standards) hotel!! We had a balcony view of the mountain and the golf course. I didn't read the description and was pleasantly surprised that there was an onsen (must pay 150 yen usage fee per person). It was a really nice onsen too. It was raining the day that we got there and it made the outdoor onsen just magical with the rain in the backdrop. However, they do not allow tattooed guests into the onsen so foreigners, please be aware. The room was nice and gave old timey feels. I appreciated the big, long couch too. One drawback was that there was no microwave in the whole building :( But overall, would come back. It's a 10 minute walk from the T Tozan bus (so you can get there pretty quickly from the Togendai bus/ropeway station. The Lawson is right there next to the bus stop too (we got to go while the Evangelion collab was going on). The hotel has a free shuttle bus to various locations too so I would inquire about those upon check-in since those have to be booked the day before, but if you have the Hakone free pass and don't mind walking, it's pretty accessible via the Tozan bus lines

GGuest UserCleanliness was basically beautiful, but I had minus 1 because my hair remained. There is no problem because the location was not requested separately, but it feels like it is in a residential area, so I think it is not suitable for people who are looking for a location. I stayed for consecutive nights, but I was happy if cleaning etc. came in between the first and second days. Not only this accommodation but also when staying consecutive nights, you may not enter. The facilities and amenities are very satisfying. There were free drinks and many towels, so there was no inconvenience. I said a lot, but I am totally satisfied. It was a good trip to Hakone. Thank you!

WWeitedingtaibuhuaThe price of Hakone Hotel in the peak season is generally not low. This hotel is near Xianshiyuan in the north. The boss is a middle-aged couple. There are few rooms, a terrace, a set of toilets, and the bathroom is the public soup downstairs. Because the sense of boundaries and expectations of Japanese service are not particularly high, it is basically acceptable. Old-fashioned Japanese house, walking distance of 711, dinner options are not much, eating a Korean barbecue, actually very hot.

TTkachenkoAnnaI booked a room in Japanese style. I got a room, dinner with breakfast, and a hot bath, not to mention a lot of pleasant impressions. In the evening, after a hot bath, sipping umesu on the balcony with a view of the night mountains and lights is a pleasure!
It was very warm in the room - the air conditioner was working for heating. I had to turn it off and open the window - I can't sleep in the stuffiness.
I had two baths at my service: one from 7 pm to 7 am, the other from 7 am to 7 pm. I visited both, in the second I was unpleasantly surprised by the suspension in the common bath - suddenly dirt with other people's hair rose up, I had to make hot baths right away, where you lie alone, in the open air. This is a great pleasure! And in just one bath there are two such baths, i.e. there will be no crowd around, although, perhaps, you will have to wait for one of them to become free. The hotel employee quickly brought dinner/breakfast while I was in the onsen, cleaned everything and made the bed (futon). The only thing that surprised me was that there were many Pakistanis or Indians working in the hotel, although it gives the impression of a traditional Japanese hotel. Yes, the building is a bit old, the kimono is washed out (but the ailment is beautiful), everything is a bit shabby, the baths look like they have been in service for centuries. But everything is quite neat, traditional, the staff is super polite and attentive.

王王The hotel has a face steam engine, a capsule coffee machine, an air purifier, and an open-air room. The balcony has a wooden spa bath. The hotel has a free little popsicle, and it’s good to eat in the hot springs. Breakfast and dinner are very rich, and dinner is even more abundant than the Kaiseki that I went to the 1900 flower bed. Very satisfied. However, the general network of Hakone hotels is not good, there is no WIFI in every room, it is a hotel unified WIFI

GGuest UserThe location is excellent being 2mins from Gora-Eli station. It is surrounded by private onsens and even some good restaurants. It’s a below average guest house without any lift or elevator. 2 flight of steps to the front desk and men’s and family rooms, 1 flight of steps to the ladies. It warrants a lot of work on cleanliness service and amenities to grow its image. The only saving grace is its excellent location next to Gora station and the ropeway/cablecar bringing you to Lake Ashi, Owakudani and many places of interest..
