Is this price for a room because it is small or tastes good? Is it because of the 400-year history? I don't understand. It's not worth the price at all. I personally don't recommend it.

I like it very much!! I am so happy that I am spinning around! Take the bus for three stops from Hakone Yumoto Station to the main entrance! There is a lobby boy to move the suitcases to the room, and a housekeeper to take you to visit the hotel, take care of breakfast and dinner, and make the bed. The four soups are in turn, and the skin is so dry. The fourth floor is a large platform, you can take pictures during the day! (We went there at night and didn’t find the lights to go up and got scared) You can also help send the luggage to Hakone Yumoto! The station can also be sent directly to the hotel. Very pleasantly surprised, I will come again next time🥺🥺

Good afternoon We stayed in this wonderful a**ospheric place, dinner and breakfast in a traditional style, you won’t leave hungry, soft drinks, beer, coffee for an additional fee. The hot springs are amazing and there is a small private one in the room too.

Traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. The service is very formal, and there is also very exquisite kaiseki cuisine. The four-story wooden structure was built in 1919 and contains many old items. Modern Chinese historical figures such as Li Hongzhang, Sun Wen and Liang Qichao visited this building and left calligraphy treasures. The corridor inside the building is quite cold! After all, it is an old building.

I stayed at a ryokan for 3 days and 2 nights on a family trip and it was really nice. The ryokan was also very pretty. The staff were very kind and the food was very delicious. The hot spring water was also very good and I would like to stay for about a month more if conditions allow. Next time. If I go on a hot spring trip, I want to come back to this ryokan again. I would like to thank the staff in charge for giving me the most enjoyable and good memories. Thank you so much

Very cool hotel! Polite and kind staff! We took a tour of the building, and a welcome gift was waiting in the room - tea and urine. Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were brought directly to your room. Then they prepared a futon for me. Very soft and comfortable! There is a general open onsen, open until 11 pm and a half-open onsen open all night, which you can book simply by turning over the “reserved” sign on it. I had few visitors and I was there half the night! My room had a private mini onsen in the bathroom. I liked it all very much. I was looked after by a girl named Mao (if I'm not mistaken in the name. She is very kind and sweet!) The hotel is located in a very beautiful place, there is a bus stop near it. You can take a bus to Lake Ashi and the famous torii to take beautiful photos! I recommend the hotel to everyone!

Huansuilou is located near Hakone Yumoto. You can walk for about ten minutes to get there, or you can take the bus to Kamitanozawa and get off. The main building is a large, all-wooden building and is registered as a cultural asset. The room we stayed in was very clean and the deodorizing effect was good. With a small courtyard and an outdoor private bath. Dinner and breakfast were eaten in the room, and the taste was okay.

Maybe it's because it's a time-honored hotel and it's very famous, but the overall service surprised me. There's no service at all in such an expensive hotel. It's at least three levels worse than traditional Japanese hotels, and it doesn't match the price at all!

This ryokan provided excellent vibe for us - a family with a 2 years old kid. We shared lovely moment in a wooden Japanese-style room named Moegi near the reception which contains a private indoor hot spring bathtub and separated washroom facility. My worry of the noise from the corridor and reception was proven unnecessary as we stayed. The hot spring here is weak alkaline, not as irritative as sulphuric hot spring so our little kid could share excellent hot spring experience with us in bathtub inside our room. The room is excellent with 12 tatami in the living room together with a balcony that enable us to appreciate the riverside in the room. At night, housekeeper prepared futons for us to sleep on tatami. What a wonderful and sweet experience for a family! However, my wife grumbled that the river sound is a bit loud but it should be inevitable for a riverside room! Dinner and breakfast were prepared with fresh ingredients - fish, seafood and vegetable, and they tasted good. The one-bite Japanese beef is soft and taste excellent! (You should not expect that they are prepared like a precious artworks in high-end professional ryoutei ^^) T We also enjoy the outdoor hot spring with splendid river view and nature sounds surroundings. However the passage to the outdoor baths may be harsh for elderly as you may need to walk on a steep rocky staircases. (The 4th floor of ryokan seems having an easier way to outdoor baths but the door was staff-only at that moment…) We enjoy everything here and thank all staffs for their warmest serving. Regarding the accessibility, we took Hakone mountain trains to Tonosawa station and it took 5 minutes walk from the cement staircases and crossed a short bridge to the ryokan. The journey is manageable in a sunny day even we carried a baby trolley and backpacks.

Our first time staying in a ryokan, so I had no real idea what to expect. We were to be served a meal upon arrival, but were massively late to get there taking the Shinkansen from Kyoto, just on the cusp of them stopping to serve dinner altogether but luckily they still accommodated us. Being vegan meant we specified this meal request when booking, and it didn't disappoint. Many unique and delicious dishes in our meal, was a great way to be welcomed to the ryokan. Later I made use of the onsen, but since it was super hot weather already this was probably more enjoyable if we had gone in the winter. Oh well, relaxing nonetheless. I slept soundly (my wife complained that the room smells of wood, which kind of kept her up, I didn't notice this at all, or if I did I enjoyed it), woke up to a beautiful misty morning, and went for a run along the hilly twisty roads of Hakone. We left to Tokyo a little while after. This is a perfect getaway for those looking to escape the bustle of the big cities, or as stop in between cities.

What a great experience at a traditional ryokan! Breakfast and supper were included with our stay, as well as afternoon tea service. The food was delicious and we were able to try a lot of different dishes we would not have otherwise experienced. Ichino explained all of the dishes and everything about the ryokan and our room. We enjoyed the onsens and the quiet of the inn. So much care and attention to detail was given to everything! It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Be sure to visit the shops and try the tiramisu ice cream.
