Air conditioning temperature cannot be adjusted, we went in April, it was cool outside and there was only heating option on the controls, no cool air option at all. Had to open the windows to get cool air in, still it was too hot inside. Wasn’t able to get a good sleep. Rude encounter with a staff which I believe was the manager. He was downright nasty and arrogant. I would totally avoid this place, his actions was disgusting. He spoke very limited English which was understandable, however using rude gestures pointing and shooing off guests is such a rude thing to do. Would never go back because of this incident.

A very old hotel that reveals a rich sense of history, but also has a comfortable modern decoration. It is very comfortable to soak in the hot springs naked, and you can have a perfect night's sleep. The next day I woke up and walked around the mountains. The air was fresh and it felt particularly clean. The hotel's restaurant has Japanese and Western styles to choose from. I ate different flavors in the two days and made a reservation for a kaiseki meal. It was exquisite and delicious. , there is also a 7-11 snack shop not far from the hotel, which is also good. The hotel service is very good. There was a Chinese-speaking lady who specially helped me move my luggage to the second floor (because there is no elevator), which was a little touching!

I would like to praise the hot springs. It is obviously much hotter than ordinary hot springs. It can only last about five minutes at a time, so I soaked in small amounts many times. The scenery outside the window is also very good. I can relax by blowing the mountain breeze on the outdoor windowsill. I would like to stay here next time I come to Hakone!

It really feels like living in my own home. The grandparents at the hotel are very kind. Although the communication is a bit difficult, the room has a small living room and bedroom.
