Best Business Hotels in Hakone

The view from the open-air bath and the feeling of liberation are very pleasant. Especially in summer, it is best to take a nap in a mist shower with a little cool feeling while basking in the sun. Care for the misplacement of cars during narrow and crowded times.

I read great reviews about Hakone Pax Yoshino. It's an older hotel in a tourist town and appears quite nice. My room was OK, large and could use some updating. My traditional dinner and service was spectacular, hence my 3-star rating. What tainted a one-night stay is I was traveling with a vegetarian friend and not only was she shut out of a dinner she paid for, but the front desk agent said they couldn't accommodate her, there would be no refund or substitutions, because we were traveling as solos we couldn't sit together - so many ”couldn'ts” that were simply not true. This tainted my stay and I went alone to dinner - plenty of room for another person - which was great. I was embarrassed that I had picked this hotel for friends to stay separately and upon arrival was told that our plan didn't include meals, which they sure did. So, at the front desk for about $300 per night, everything is ”couldn't”. Breakfast was just OK compared to dinner. I loved wearing the yakata and having hot spring water in the room's tub (which could use updating) was nice. In the morning, I was told to reserve a spot on a shuttle to the train station for what reason, I'm not sure. When no shuttle showed up for me, my friend and others waiting - and waiting - and waiting - we were then told that the shuttle doesn't always show up. Why the reservation for something that doesn't happen? The front desk could not request a cab, another ”couldn't”. Since most of us leaving had trains to catch and tours scheduled, we walked the 15 minutes or so to the station in the rain. I saw other guests I met while waiting also drenched at the station. In short, I'm not impressed though so much of Japan has impressive accommodations and kindness. Hakone Pax Yoshino falls short. For that reason, I wouldn't stay again and don't recommend it. Too bad, because the traditional dinner and restaurant serving staff are top notch. I'm sure the chef - and a dinner this good has to have a chef - would have said to serve a vegetarian rice, vegetables, desserts of which there were several as well as a large drink menu and other dishes - and the experience would have been better. Unfortunate that the front desk person we had could only say no, you don't have, we can't. Well, I think they could have. Very sad.

This hotel is a bit hard to reach by public transport. There is a bus that stops closeby, but there is also a train, however, after that you have to walk for 20 minutes and the road can be quite steep in some parts. In the vicinity, there are some convenience stores and restaurants. The town of Hakone is beautiful and located close to mount Fuji. We had a lovely ryokan-style suite with twin beds. Everything was very clean and comfortable, including the pillows. Breakfast is buffet-style and offers both European and Asian food. There are both a public onsen and a private one. Staff is very friendly and speaks English very well.

I visited for free. Although there are some negative points due to the old facilities, it is a price range that is easy to visit when you want to come to the hot springs, and the quality of the hot springs is not bad, so it is a new and fashionable facility, to stay without seeking gorgeousness. I thought I was there. Personally, according to the hotel rules, you can go back and forth in the bath with sandals in the room, so I think sandals have dirt on the shoes on the outside, but there are no other footwear in the room. I was worried about the aging of the washroom and the bus, because the boundary between the foot and the non-smoking area seemed vague, including the cleaning staff.

Let me talk about the disadvantages first: the transportation is inconvenient, you need to climb the slope, it is very strenuous to carry luggage uphill, there is no shuttle bus directly, the shuttle bus only goes to the hotel at the bottom of the slope, you have to take the elevator to the 8th floor and then walk up a flight of stairs to the hotel, it is difficult to find the way there. See the attached picture below for details. Take the A-line bus in front of Hakone Yumoto Station, the fare is 200 yen. The hotel looks ordinary, but the room is relatively new, very clean and tidy. You can use the bathhouse in the next building, which has free massage chairs, comic books, open-air baths... The hotel's breakfast is buffet, and the dinner is prepared by the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights, and the 2 dinners were different. Yukata is available on the 1st floor according to your size, and toiletries are also on the 1st floor. If you don't bring luggage and go out for a walk, it's not far to walk to Hakone Yumoto Station, and the scenery along the way is also good~

I visited for a walk in the morning at the location adjacent to Hakone Shrine. Lots of green. A promenade full of flowers. A promenade on the shore of the lake. You can see Mt. Fuji beautifully, and you can also see pirate ships passing through Lake Ashino. The silence as if time had stopped. The chirping of small birds is comfortable. I was surprised to stay at a resort where the speaker was wired, but I don't need such a small work here. Hotel to enjoy hotel stay. The customer feels like a repeater is quite, a little elegant and noisy, old, gentlemen, ladies 々. It's not a place for noisy young people to go. The food was a long-established hotel, so I chose Western food. There were many reviews that Japanese food was good, but because it is a hotel, the food is elegant and a little on a large plate. Is delicious. I wonder if it's not enough, but it's enough. Upgrade of main dishes that are common in cheap hotels these days. It was also here. The course was changed to Hoho meat grilled Wagyu beef steak and brand beef steak. The chef served hoho meat, so I didn't change it, but it was an elaborate grill, but after all, hoho meat was hoho meat. I should have upgraded. It's a simple story, but I think the main dish is Japanese beef steak without discounting. 〇〇 Great deal at sale! I will stay there because the guide will come from the travel site, but I feel that every hotel is having a hard time with the main. Then, I wish I had stopped selling. The ladies I met in the hall were highly praised for Japanese food. Next time, if I can come to the flowering season, I would like to try a Japanese restaurant.

This hotel was amazing! The staff were very accommodating and polite from the moment we arrived. I stayed in the Kaze luxury tower and the room was exceptional with great views from the balcony. We had the included dinner and breakfast and were blown away. We got to try so many new types of food here and the service was very helpful. I would absolutely recommend and would come again.

interesting balinese onsen ryokan. service was great, i couldn’t take raw food and my husband is allergic to prawns and they took notice for it and didn’t serve them during our half board meals (breakfast and dinner). the onsen water is certified to be natural and we could read the details of the certification from both the hotel reception and room toilet. the private in room open air onsen’s temperature can be adjusted as well. however the room’s shower’s door was not completely sealed and we found it very chilly to bathe even tho there was hot water supplied as the constant cold air from outside would come in. hope the hotel can take note of this and seal up the showering area’s door completely to prevent air from exchanging during shower. it’s a jap-balinese fusion hotel, pretty interesting concept. we drove during our trip around hakone area and be ready to navigate through very small and narrow roads while driving to this ryokan haha. really very narrow roads. hotel also requested for us to pass them the car key when we returned to the hotel, and to pass them the hotel key when we are heading out, which we found to be a little weird to be honest.

　Staying at the cherry blossoms after a long time. This is an inn that is easy to go to with few slopes and is within a moderate distance to walk from Hakone Yumoto Station through the street of a souvenir shop and in front of a liquor store and convenience store. Towels from the participating schools of Hakone Ekiden were exhibited in the lobby, and the afterglow of the New Year remained. The large communal bath is also covered with tatami mats. The open-air bath is small, and the landscape is green on the slopes, reminiscent of the forest, mountain inns, and ancient capitals. The open-air, ２ or private bath seems to come out of the bathtub when the hot water decreases. Or it seems to come out when the hot water temperature drops. I've been standing in Oita since I first visited, but it seems that some facilities are aging. My wife said that there was a place where the shower holder was removed in the women's bathroom. However, overall, I didn't feel old and felt that it was a clean inn. There is no problem with the service of the staff, but I felt a little less energetic (quiet?) Compared to the series of Suiyun. You may be tired from working on New Year's Day. I didn't notice the open-air bath with a room from spring to autumn, but the bathtub that seemed to be made of pottery was cold and it was a little lukewarm even if I put hot water in it. Since it is boiling water, I thought it would be better to raise the temperature of the water more in winter. The restaurant is partly side-by-side, which is good for preventing infection, but it is difficult to do sukiyaki unless you line up well with left-handed and right-handed people. I hardly drank, but I don't remember applying at the time of booking, but it was a New Year's service or all-you-can-drink. For example, if you want to eat a meal of １ 10,000 yen at a local restaurant, you should come here on weekdays and stay here if you can make a reservation and eat dinner, so it is an inn that you want to go actively.

This was my first experience at a ryokan. I am so glad that my sister booked a traditional ryokan with a private Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. We also had our own onsen in the room. It was so very relaxing and beautiful. The whole experience put me back into the days of old Japan. I would love to stay here again! The staff does not speak much English but they do use a translator tool that makes it easy to converse and understand. The food was amazing! The sleep was amazing. The room was spacious and accommodated 4 adults. The onsen was so relaxing. The lobby and ryokan is gorgeous and well upkept! We did stay in a newly renovated room-Zuisan. They are very accommodating to your every need. I truly felt like I was in Old Japan. I want to go back again soon. (note: I will update with photos later as there are so many)
