Good location, hotel set in old European territory during opium war around 1807. A lot of history behind. Hotel remodeled and has modern feel.

The hotel is sitting in the middle of ShaMian Island, an island full of historical culture of British Architecture. The hotel receptionists that hosted us on 12-13 Dec 2024 were all superbly friendly and helpful! I was with my Muslim Colleagues and we had difficulties finding Muslim food but the front desk gentleman recommend us a restaurant which turn out to be a great one!
On the next day, I was having problem ordering a taxi transport to Baiyun Airport and the hotel receptionist girl helped to arranged and we were on time to airport!
As for the hotel, the ambience made me indulged in the beauty of olden days. The bed was good quality and I had a full night rest. Water temperature are easy to control and hence overally, a very pleasant stay.
If I return to Guangzhou in the future, I will surely be back at Victory Hotel ❤️

The location is really good with attractions in walking distance. The decor is traditional matching the surrounding historic gazetted buildings. We will stay there again.

This hotel has a fair price for the room it offers. Without any great luxuries, it has an excellent location on the charming island of Shamian. The standard room has good dimensions, a good mattress, pillows, large windows with views, good light, the bare essentials, water, coffee and tea, and you should stay on a high floor because of the noise from the elevated road in front of the hotel, built at first floor level. Breakfast is frugal, but has the basics. There's a Starbuck's next door in a beautiful building that complements the western breakfast. The staff are very polite, unspeakably friendly, and endeavour to make everything run smoothly and respond to any needs that arise. It always goes well, a rest in pleasant and restful surroundings.

Well located for exploring the areas on Shamian Island and heading further into Guangzhou. The hotel building has a lot of character but rooms are maybe starting to show some signs of time.

Excellent location. It’s located right within the historical Shamian, a lovely area to walk around. The hotel itself is historical too, and the design reflects the old charm. The staffs were lovely and attentive, and the room was a decent size. Located near to two different subway lines and a large shopping mall. I highly recommended it.

This hotel is very old! Everything is very old. Definitely it’s a historical landmark hotel. Not quite a place that I would like to stayed for next time! But one thing that is interesting is the laundry room which is updated! Front desk staff are not quite friendly.
