We enjoyed staying at this hotel with half board. Loved Seaview!!! It’s so nice! Breakfast was better than dinner I think. Swimming pool was quite big and clean. Air conditioning was not in public area so we loved our room with icy cold aircon.

Laguna beach and spa hotel is most definitely not a 3 star hotel, I would give it a 2 at most. The best part of the hotel are the staff who are very friendly and keen to help. May be a tad too keen in the dining area , as soon as your plates clean they are right at your table like a limpet clearing it away. Better than the tables being left unattended so can’t grumble too much but just don’t leave your table unattended with your food on it to pop to the loo else you’ll come back to it gone and the table relaid for new diners . The food is extremely “SAMEY” and not that much of a variety. If you’re looking for carb heaven then you won’t be disappointed as it’s all rice, pasta and a form of potato. The puddings are all mainly a minutes square of cake with a blob of cream on and each day it will have a slight different flavour. 1600 every day they do pancakes which are lovely. The hotel itself looks like it is in desperate need of an update and lick of paint. It has a very tired look to it and although the rooms are cleaned daily with clean linen and towels, the rooms just have a general dirty feel about them. It is supposedly a private beach for the hotel, however the locals walk down and spend their time fishing off the promanade , so it makes it have a busy and noisy feel to it rather than having that private quiet appeal as advertised. The beach itself is not very big and has the appearance of being a manmade beach as feels very gritty as though it’s more builders sand from b&q ( other builders merchants are available) The sea at this part is not your crystal clear waters as I was expecting , for that you’ll need to take a short boat trip where you will find a beach and small market town. The hotel itself works on a cash only system so be sure to take plenty of their currency to pay for any excursions you want to make with them as they work on a cash only system. Trips are around 7500 for 2 people The swimming pool is lovely with the right temperature for cooling down. Being all inclusive the bar is handy being centred in the middle by the pool, restaurant and entertainment. Entertainment wise they provided a display of their local dance in the evenings around 1900 hours which was lovely to watch. However throughout the day they have music playing majority of the day, way too loud and plays continuously until 23:00 hours. It’s like they are wanting to give that Ibiza , Benidorm vibe which just doesn’t work with the small complex as the music area is too close to the accommodation so no chance of having an early night or being able to go to your room for a spot of peace and quiet if needed. There is a wooden hut set just between the pool and beach area where you can book some trips out. Unfortunately due to cyclone garison we were unable to do all the trips we had booked but highly recommend the 9 island trip by taxi , the rum distillery was great if you like your rum, get to taste 11 shots of rum . Also the island tour by boat sounds amazing to

The rooms were dirty, poor housekeeping. Dirty walls around tea station and sink area from previous guests. We found hair in the bedding and stuck to towels Shower was dirty and bathroom floors had to ask for it to be cleaned 2 times before it was done Towels are wirn out like rags. No cupboard space. Only a few hanger on a rod open in the room, mking the room look untidy and not pratical for stays mote than 2 nights. Poor wifi in rooms Ordered breakfast on the go and got a box full of ants with 2 dry pieces of baguet, butter .apple and naartjie. 80%of staff are not helpfull and constantly want to argure if you complain about something. In this hotel the guest does not come first. I will not return . The views are lovely but thats about all there is.

Positives: • One of the hotel staff members, Kushal, stood out as exceptionally helpful, kind, and attentive, and he made our stay more enjoyable. • Great buffet with a wide variety of delicious food. • Stunning seaview from our room and a large, beautiful pool with amazing views. • Quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxation. • Cozy rooms and excellent spa service, where staff even found and returned an item we forgot there. • Enjoyable entertainment and pleasant daytime music. Negatives: • Poor WiFi and limited TV functionality (no Netflix, YouTube, or Chromecast as these were disabled on the TV). • Free boat taxi to Ile Aux Cerfs was fully booked and we lost the opportunity to do this (which was our main reason for choosing this hotel), and this wasn’t communicated in advance. • Service was slow and inconsistent, with long waits and forgotten orders. • Many menu items were unavailable, and free activities were difficult to access. • No bottled water in the room, and limited support for basic requests (e.g., no HDMI cable available). Overall: A beautiful, relaxing hotel with great potential, but service and communication need improvement. We think this hotel suits you if you are an older couple looking for a relaxing and calm stay, but if you are going to Mauritius for a honeymoon we believe there are other better options!

We have just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing 12 days at the Laguna Beach hotel. We chose this hotel as it was both small and quiet and it certainly didn't disappoint. Frequently we almost had the beach to ourselves which was amazing, and there was never an issue with the availability of sunbeds either on the beach or round the pool. The rooms are kept very clean by some lovely and friendly housekeeping ladies, but the rooms could do with some updating. I can see this would be a major undertaking as there are stone plinths in several places within the room. The balcony was very large with excellent lighting meaning we could sit out late at night and complete crossword puzzles. The hotel is very isolated on the outskirts of a small village with little facilities. We were only able to do one trip as we couldn't pay for the taxi trip by card and we had very limited cash with us, and there is no ATM either in the hotel or village, you needed a taxi to take you to a cash machine, however the trip to Port Louis and the north of the island was very good value. Food was plentiful and generally pretty good. As a pescatarian I am used to having a limited choice, however there did seem to be only 1 variety of fish served, which was disguised with slightly different sauces. Because the food is prepared in advance the fish did suffer from being overcooked and dried out, but the vegetables, rice and potatoes were fine, and the soup was especially hot and tasty each night. However, the dining experience was let down by the overall organisation and the waiting staff who run the dining room. Almost every time we went for dinner we had to wait and ask for a table to be set in the outdoor area as it was too hot to eat inside. It appeared we were invisible to the staff who just ignored us. After a week I did go to the front desk to make them aware of the issue, but there was only a marginal improvement. The waiting staff seemed to be focussed only on clearing plates and twice they took my plate off me while I was still eating. On a positive note, the lovely Habiba was wonderful, greeting us with a welcoming smile and making us feel like valued guests, she should be put in charge of training the waiting staff, teaching them that a welcoming smile and greeting goes a long way. All the other staff, chefs, people serving the food, housekeeping staff, front desk personnel were really friendly speaking to you and always asking how I was today. (I use a stick and my back is stiff and aching in a morning.) Overall, a good place to stay if you appreciate a small hotel and like having a quiet relaxing time. We would definitely consider returning as this hotel was good value for money.

One of the best hotels we've ever been to...its small but very cosy...the infrastructure is good and the food is very drlicious as well. The forte of the hotel is probably its staff who are very welcoming people..special mention for Shivam, Rajendar, Pooja, Jasmeen, Ashfaaq, Ronnie, Rashini,Souveeren and Yeshna. The gateman, Mr Ajay and the Nigerian friend working there also very nice people..i would not hesitate to give them 100 out of 100...

We stayed in this place from 27th Dec to 1st Jan. It was a great stay and the property is truly admirable. Staff are excellent. Food was good, though not much option for Indians. The Jetty for the Island trip is just 1 minute walking. Now few negatives, and management may try to address them:- 1. High exchange rates. I got 46.50 MUR against 1 USD from the airport, but they were offering just MUR 42.00. Not fair. They must make it more reasonable. 2. High taxi rates. Double the rates prevailing in South Asia. They are charging USD 100 for a full day trip, whereas in South Asia it is only USD 50. Considering that the property is in a remote place, they should facilitate better rates for taxi hiring. 3. Though the hotel accepts credit card, the Souvenir shop near the reception wants only cash. This is funny. At this digital age the shop owner wants to run his business with a primitive mind set. And a special note about the location. It is a remote place and exactly 50 KMs from the capital city of port Louis. No scope for roaming around or exploring the nearby area. You cannot even buy a water bottle from nearly, which the hotel sells @ MUR 100 against the price outside MUR 26. A special thanks to the owner for creating beautiful interior designs using wood and bamboo.
