Bull Reina Isabel & Spa

Lovely hotel. Peaceful with very helpful staff. Ideally placed for facilities in and around Sta Catalina Park and the variety of shops in Mesa López. The hotel had plenty to keep people of all ages occupied. Breakfast was ample and a very good selection. If required meals can be obtained from the Terrace Bar if full board is not required.

Had a lovely stay here and apart from a couple of points it was a fantastic stay. The hotel itself is well situated along the front and just a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach. It's a lovely hotel if a little tired. The couple of bad points are the food and the beds. We had a bed and breakfast break for 11 nights and paid for a couple of evening meals. The restaurant is buffet style and all you can eat with a reasonable choice but the food is warm at best and usually getting towards the cold side. I've heard people say that is how they are in Gran Canaria but everywhere else we ate (and there have been a few) the food was piping hot. We had boiled eggs twice in the morning and they managed to be half cooked with the white still being in the slimy stage and cold. We actually only went down to breakfast about 4 times over the 11 nights as the food just really wasn't up to scratch. The evening meals were a little better but at 28 euros each not really worth the money especially as you are just a 5 min walk from loads of restaurants that are at least half the price. The second thing is the beds. If you're coming from the UK and have stayed in any of the chain hotels here then you're going to be very disappointed in the beds. We had twin beds and they were definitely not up to scratch. Just cheap mattresses with very used mattress toppers on that moved during the night and the pillows are very cheap and thin. We had booked with Tui to have a double bed but when we got to the hotel all they had were twins. The roof pool is nice but unless you go up very early or late you wont get a sun lounger. The spa is amazing though and well worth a visit. Saying this though the stars of the hotel are definitely the staff. Nothing was any trouble for them and they were friendly and extremely helpful and professional. They really made the stay for us. Also be aware that there are only a couple of English television channels although one of these is Film 4 so you can watch a film in bed at the end of the day. In summary it's a lovely hotel that's very well situated if a little dated and tired. You have a stunning beach to the front and the city to the rear so the best of both worlds.

Great service, great sangrias, room lovely with sea view. Pool bar was very convenient ;) would come here again. Beautiful beach and great walking opportunities. Really nice sitting in the beach bar and enjoying everything life has to offer ＜3

I went with my daughter for a 5 night stay. Hotel is awesome & accommodating. Staff are very polite especially Hermant at reception desk. The dining staff were very professional & carrying out their duties very efficiently, they were great. The lounge area that leads to the promenade & beach is outstanding & well kept. The spa facilities & treatment we had was so immense & just what we needed! Together with the gym next door to it, the view was amazing, whilst in gym or spa! The only disappointing issue for us is that the outside pool was in dire repairs & had been emptied out. It was only announced on their website in the last few day before we flew out.

Very nice hotel. Quiet and comfortable. Second time here, got a nice single room with sea view this time too. The room is not big, but contains everything you need. Enjoyed half pension and both breakfast and dinner was plentiful and nice. Hard working restaurant staff doing a very good job. Swimmingpool area and gym also nice. Will return.

Badly maintained hotel, no apparent updating since 1998, except prices that are far too high for it offers. Exceptionally located, it used to be the one I recommended, but my last 2 stays there have been frustrating. Twice, after booking a sea view room ( about 100€ more expensive) we got a kind of cave, with, yes, a bigger terrace, but no view, no intimacy, no natural light in the room… twice, in 2022 and 2024. So be aware, do yet accept rooms 473 and the nearby… they cheat you.

This is the first time we stayed here had stayed at Bull Astoria. Very nice hotel all staff were very fridndly and helpful during our stay. The hotel is very well situated on Las Canteras beach front. Reserved beds on the beach itself for guests. The food at hotel was nice and breakfast very good joice with freshly cooked food e.g. tortillas great choices like smoked salmon. They even had cava and iced vodka. Did not take dinner but good bar food. The only thing and this is minor rooms need a freshining up as a bit dated. Definitely would return. A good base for visiting places like La Vagueta district, the aquarium nearby was well worth the money.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. The hotel has a fabulous location, right opposite the beach and a short walk to lots of lovely restaurants and the main shopping streets. We went to Gran Canaria to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the service in the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast was really good with lovely views of the ocean. The room was spacious and provided everything that we needed including a fridge which was empty and so you could chill your own wine or beer. We had a room with a sea view and a large balcony. This is probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
