We travelled the 150km from our resort in Goa to go on safari at the Kali Tiger Reserve. On arrival, we discovered that the hotel's transport to and from the reserve, about 10km away, cost 2500R (about £25), which is very expensive for India. (We had paid only 8000R for the trip from Goa.) On returning to the resort after the afternoon safari, we discovered that dinner, advertised to start at 7:30, which seemed rather late, was not actually available until 8pm. We then found out that the resort had no liquor license, so there would be no beer or wine available with dinner. This was not something that was even mentioned in the ad we had followed when booking this resort. Should it not have been in big capital letters to warm people to stay away? Rather than stay here, we moved our return trip from the next morning, and headed back to Goa that evening. What's more, the day was brightened considerably by finding an excellent place to eat ***** the way...
