I just needed the towel. Everything was great. Staff were friendly, people living in the same room were also friendly and nice. We enjoyed talking to each other. The facility was managed very clean and seamlessly. I would really recommend the stay. Also, the view from the room was great!

This youth hostel in Ghent is quite quaint. You can store your luggage. Since we arrived early, we put down our luggage and went out for a walk early in the morning. Ghent is a very distinctive city and it is worth spending a day to visit it.

部屋が綺麗。2段ベッドの下は狭くて上の方が快適でした。6人部屋でたまたま2人しかいなかったのでベッドメイキングも苦ではありませんでした。ベッドメイキングの時、布団カバーに食べこぼしのようなシミがあるのを発見。お湯が出るのに5分かかった。それ以外は文句ありません。観光スポットまで徒歩で行けます。トラムの乗車代が日本人からしたら高いので節約のためヘントシントピーテルス駅まで30分ほど歩きました。

I’ve never written a review for a hostel, because I’ve never had this terrible of an experience. You get what you pay for basically. I did a mixed dorm with my friend and the guy that was on top of my bed almost broke my bunk bed due to his weight. I’m surprised they didn’t have a weight restriction. Additionally, I have never had such uncomfortable nights of sleep in my life. And the same goes for my friend and the other woman in our hostel. We woke up drenched in sweat, and my one friend only slept for an hour. I’ve normally been fine without air conditioning, but this was just absolutely horrible. Also, on the 2nd night, the man sleeping above my friend was also on the larger side and as she was falling asleep, the board of the bunk bed fell on top of her head. Overall, this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ve traveled quite a lot. On top of all of that, the one man staying in my room was extremely weird and came barging in our room at 12:30am while we were sleeping and was extremely loud and disrespectful. He then to proceeded to take of all his clothes right in front of me and I was horrified.

KaBa Hostel was my first place to stay in Belgium and I couldnt have picked a nicer spot to start my trip. Arrived in at 6am from the UK to the FlixBus depot near Ghent-Dampoort station and used the €9 locker to store my backpack as check in doesn't open till 3pm. Rented a bike at Ghent Dampoort station (€19) and spent a few hours trying to find somewhere open for breakfast. €22 for very fancy blueberry waffles & green tea at "Modest". I'm sure there were cheaper places but was sleep deprived with no terms of reference. The city is gorgeous but I'd recommend using Donkey Republic for bike hire in future as I the bike hire place closes at 7pm and I had to argue with them when returning at 7am the following morning I wasn't hiring it for 2 days but eventually got my money back. Hostel is in a nice quiet spot and close to the train station. 3 bed dorm was cosy but no large lockers to store my medium sized 47L backpack so had to chain it to the bed. The top floor did get VERY hot in the sun and I'd recommend a blackout blind for the south facing glass door on the corridor. Also the door locks and top floor are quite loud & echoey. I did get a decent nights sleep and the shower was decent with no queue in the morning thankfully. Large velux window with mosquito screen helped to cool the room but needed to get up at 5am due to dawn chorus and noise from trains waking me. Breakfast was worth it and got to chat to a few other residents which was nice. Staff were friendly & helpful and the fresh linen was clearly seen and you can tell cleanliness is very important to the owners. Would definitely stay again if visiting Ghent.

Our 2 night stay in the hostel was more than pleasant. Easy to reach on foot from the station and run by very helpful staff for every request. The buffet breakfast (€5 per day per person) was very satisfying. The room was clean and simple. It has a garden with a table for meals and a common room, ideal for making new acquaintances. Absolutely recommended!!
