The location is at a very strategic location, just a few minutes drive away from Georgetown.
Cons:
- Floor is not that clean and can feel stickiness.
- The floor of the bathroom are also with abit of stains but acceptable.
- The unit’s soundproofing is not that good as you can listen to people talking outside at the corridor.
- Curtains are with holes
- Sofa is quite dirty
- There is not much sockets/plugs in the unit. (Can provide extension)
- Mirrors are at a very awkward place (bathrooms dont have mirrors / makeup table dont have mirrors)
Pros:
- Location very strategic
- Infinity pool is beautiful
- 2 story gym
- The unit comes with a washing machine, which is very useful for us
- Microwave was good too
- The tv comes with all sorts of entertainment like netflix/youtube
- Rooms come with airconds + fan.
Overall my family and I had a pleasant stay.

Picked this hotel cause it is located along the New Lane Street Foodstalls.
Zim Sum restaurant, Dking Penang, No. 5 CKT & the famous Sister Yao's Char Koay Kak just within walking distance.
Check-in after 3pm. You may drop your luggage bag at the concierge. Check-in at the kiosk requires assistance from the hotel staff as different booking numbers were assigned. You need to insert your nric, get your face captured & make RM6 pymt (TnGo/CC) before the room card issue.
I appreciate the hotel staff, Mr Hasan, for assisting me to get my room card as my room is not yet ready at 2.55pm.
There's a travel kiosk located inside the hotel if you need a day trip or car to the airport.
There's 3 lifts in the hotel that require room card to access. The room & the restroom are spacious & clean. I was given a connecting room. Luckily, no one stayed next door. The shower room water pressure is strong. It's a traditional toilet bowl with a bidet hose on the wall.
The bed is a bit uncomfortable as i can almost feel the mattress spring. 2 medium-firm pillows for each bed. The blanket is a bit short as it reaches my chest only (165cm height).
Basic amenities at the coffee table & toiletries are provided. Additional will be the iron & ironing board inside the cabinet.
TV has local, overseas & youtube channels. The remote control is hard to use. The volume is set very low. Need subtitles or lip reading if you rest at the bed.
Overall, it's a comfortable 2 night stay as i visited on normal days. No crowds and everything is smooth. Check-in & checkout during peak or festival season might take longer due to the hotel procedures.

We had two nights at this property. Hotel has free parking. Hotel is nice and staffs are very friendly. Room 1514 seaview was spacious and clean and located 30minutes walk to Gurvey hawker centre. The nearest supermarket is in Gurney Paragon and Gurvey Plaza about 20mins walk. There is Gurney Walk next to this hotel but no supermarket to buy fruits.
It was alright for us as we drove around and the view was my main attraction.

The hotel is equipped with restaurant and cafe on the lobby floor. The restaurant serves breakfast only. While the cafe serves snack and beverages at the lobby. There was television set, tea and coffee making facities, safety box, mineral water, bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, hand wash), hairdryer. Iron and ironing board was located at the public area.
Room rate was reasonable. With the paid room rate and the inroom facilities as well as breakfast, it was a worthed stay. Overall, it was a wonderful stay at this hotel. Check in process was speedy. The small boutique hotel is renovated from a historic building. Lobby looks fabulous. The staff are friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast with welcome drink. The room was comfortable and clean. Aircon is cold. The carpark is limited, first come first served.

Our room was facing the front, opposite the food court and they have live music until 12 midnight.

- All staff are friendly & warm, a remarkable image presentation.
- The hotel tried in various aspects to add small surprises to customers, including welcome drinks, in-rom minibar, and reception morning snacks.
- Beds are comfortable.
Drawbacks are l
- :he room lighting setup. You can either switch on with bright light and switch off woth total darkness. There is no dim light or night light option for sleeping.
- the management seems lack of experience to handle emergency issues. The 1st aid kit is not well equipped even for light and minor injury.
- The wall between rooms is thin-wood panel. You can hear the sound clearly from neighbor room. This is disturbing if next room guests does not sleep at night (like our experience).

The hotel is modern and very pretty! Love the decoration and design. It’s clean, the bed is comfortable (not the pillow) and I love the shower water pressure and the idea of having water dispenser for sustainability drive.
A few things that disappointed a little:
1. Was assigned to room 212 which is located close to lift, I barely slept on the first night. One group of guests walked pass ard 12:50am and were talking and laughing so loudly, followed by the loud door closing sound (no soft closing). Then another group came back around 1:45am and I woke up because of the loud door opening and closing sound (3 times)…the aircon was centralised and quite cold, tried adjusting to higher temperature with lower volume but the control parcel is useless. The pillow was not comfortable also, the cotton was not even, too high for my liking. Morning 8:45am the house keeping person tried accessing the store room and entered the wrong PIN code for a few times and the beeping sound was non stop and I woke up again :(
2. Thankfully we were changed to another room at level 3, I managed to sleep better for the 2nd and 3rd night. But when we came back on Day 3, I wanted to watch TV but the remote control was missing. We called the front desk for a few times but no answer around 11pm, had to go down and request for the remote control to be delivered to my room. Guess what, we waited for 15 mins but no one came, called again and finally the house keeping staff showed up after 5 mins. Then when we opened the door, he asked us multiple times that why it’s missing and even requested us to check drawers etc. we searched everywhere before we called, only being accused after waiting for 20 mins. Then waited another 5 mins for him to get a new one and came back. So speechless…
3. I like the free coffee service that they offer, however there’s no food options and no room service. Most of the nearby shops close early and it’s quite hard to find for food at night if you are hungry
4. Not all the staffs are very friendly, the lady receptionist that we encountered was not super friendly and helpful. She told me that when we came down, the replacement room would be ready but it’s not, I waited for another 5 mins standing there until she got everything sorted out. Felt that she was unwilling to help

The hotel was very new and thus all facilities were practically brand new. Upkeep was excellent as everything was clean and the water heater and aircon was working well. Room was a bit small but for the solo traveler, just nice and generally well laid out.
Although I understand that the in-room fridge was only meant to keep beverages cool, it could have been a little cooler. Also, this information could've been shared as a sticker or note on the fridge so that guests are aware.
Location wise was very good, within a 10-15 walking distance of Georgetown and great local food.
The service was excellent! Staff were extremely friendly, helpful, responsive and prompt.
I would consider staying here again when I next go up to Penang.

Chic looking hotel and alright to stay for the correct price. Relatively convenient to market and convenience store. However, housekeeping is a little slack and missed my family's room two days in a row, despite us pressing the make up room sign. Note that amenities are only provided once off and not refilled.
Nice bar/ lounge area at level L with hotel guests given RM20 per room to spend daily.

Great
GGuest UserFirst time staying at the Grand Ol Dame of Penang, celebrating its 140th anniversary. Stayed for 2 nights and the experience was great. Room was spacious and comfortable, facing the sea and you wake up to the sounds of crashing waves. Service was excellent. Breakfast was great, with cook-to-order char koay teow and roti canai, in addition to the standard eggs station. Hotel location was strategic, with plenty of food options a simple Grab ride away. The only thing lacking was the TV, coffee machine and fridge in the room, all of which could use an upgrade.
Rruffone4774Me and my family had a wonderful stay at The Granite Luxury Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated — truly felt like a luxury experience. The facilities were top-notch, especially the infinity pool and gym. We also appreciated the strategic location, which made it easy for us to explore the city.
Most importantly, we were very satisfied with the overall service and comfort. It was a perfect family getaway, and we’ll definitely come back again!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and classy stay. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
AAnonymous Userdecent sized room with gorgeous view, can see the mountain as well as the sea. Buildings nearby are very low, so you can see miles away. Professional staff especially at reception. They are carrying genuine smile and ready to assist. I would say they are more proactive than those five~star hotels i stayed in Penang and Langkwawi during this trip.
However i really wish staff at concierge (night shift) can be more cautious and careful when handling shipment including parcels delivered to the hotel. They could have checked the identity of the one who pick up the parcel instead of not validating and allow anyone to go over to the counter to pick up by themselves. in the end who will bear the responsibility if the parcel was lost?
GGuest UserLocation was great, easy walking distance to a lot of places of interest. Front office and club lounge staff were friendly, informative. I love that they welcome you using whatsapp and you can text them for any assistance. Also top of the list was the 24 hour room service, as I checked in late and room service was available 👍🏻. They advocate green initiatives in the room and since I was staying by alone, i didn’t need daily housekeeping services.
WWenwuPros: The hotel is centrally located in the heart of georgetown. It's my second time in 6 months. It's nice that they always let you check in early. Plenty of carpark so nothing to worry about.
Cons: Toilet is always clogged. They really gotta do something about it. Breakfast needs improvement. Variety is too little.
JJohnson Ng.My second time with this hotel. The only issue I have with this hotel is its narrow ramps in the hotel parking. If your car is too big, you may need to be extra careful so as not to scrape the side of your car
I would like to suggest that the hotel sticks rubber at the side of the ramps so as to reduce the scrapping (damage) to the bigger cars.
TQ.
Aana sarda1. Easy and fast check in
2. Place was very clean and warm welcomed by the staff
3. My room was good. Came with 2 breakfast
4. Breakfast was good. The food was a lot of Choice. Add on for Rm20 per head. Children below 5 years was free.
5. The swimming pool also good. Not too wide..but it was fun.
6. Parking at basement of hotel, before out, go to reception for stamping.
7. Overall was good.
GGuest UserCarpets in hallway TOO HOT for tropical climate!
Room needed to be vacuumed DAILY.
Don't forget toilet rolls!!!!!!!
I didn't eat any meals at hotel, preferring to be outdoors, sightseeing, and eating street food.
DDixon ThumI recently experienced a stay at Apple Hotel Penang, and it was a journey filled with both positives and drawbacks. Situated in the bustling heart of George Town, the hotel's location stands out as a significant advantage. It's within close proximity to key attractions like Penang Times Square, Rainbow Skywalk at Komtar, and 1st Avenue Penang, making exploration convenient and enjoyable.
The hotel offers free WiFi, but regrettably, the signal strength was notably weak during my visit. This may pose a challenge for guests relying heavily on a stable internet connection. Moreover, the availability of free parking, while a welcome feature, comes with a catch—it's extremely limited. Securing a spot can be a bit of a hassle, particularly during peak times.
In terms of accommodations, the rooms at Apple Hotel Penang provide basic amenities, including a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries. However, the cleanliness fell short of expectations, and the overall condition of the rooms didn't meet the standards for a truly comfortable stay. There were dust webs around little corners. While suitable for a brief visit of one or two nights, an extended stay might not be advisable based on my experience.
On a positive note, the 24-hour front desk service was commendable, ensuring assistance was readily available whenever needed. Additionally, the option to engage in a game of pool added a touch of entertainment to the overall stay.
Summing up my personal experience, Apple Hotel Penang offers a budget-friendly option in an unbeatable location. However, guests should be aware of the limitations in terms of cleanliness, weak WiFi, and limited parking. It's a matter of weighing the pros and cons based on individual priorities and preferences. If you prioritize a clean and comfortable environment, exploring alternative options in the area might be worthwhile.
TTan “陈时勉” See MinI have always been staying at this hotel which has ample parking spaces and close proximity to great local food. This year I managed to get it from Trip.com and being Chinese New Year, this hotel truly made my stay very memorable. There’s a great Bar at the roof that provides a nice view of the entire surrounding areas and witnessing Fireworks from a distance far.
