Funchal Sao Martinho Hotels

The hotel is in a perfect location, near the center of Funchal. Rooms are modern, extremely clean and the staff is literally the reason this hotel is so amazing. We had an amazing experience and can totally guarantee it is absolutely worth it. The breakfast is not provided via a buffet, you get a menu, but you are free to order as many things as you wish, no limit. It is a hotel for people that wishes to go around and discover Madeira. If you prefer places to relax, this is not the right place as there is no pool.

We were going on a cruise; we needed a hotel within walking distance of the port. And it exceeded expectations, we love small hotels without scurrying crowds. It is very soulful here: a large room with a window with small glazing and a frame that slides up. A door leading to a terrace. Birds singing - after all, we are in a garden. A bathroom with two sinks and a bath (so tired of uncomfortable showers!). A wonderful breakfast, where you can cut your own jamon right off your leg, home-style. The interiors are divine! They shoot this in Poirot films: fireplaces, libraries, huge bouquets of flowers, massive staircases, On the doors there are not bells, but various knockers. I want to go back.

Room is spacious with balcony. Outside the hotel, there are public buses going to Funchal center. It's also located in the shopping area with restaurants and supermarkets. You can sit at rooftop to have a sea view. Breakfast buffet is good. Airport is less than half hour on taxi.

Close to the ocean and Lido pool, many restaurants nearby. The rooms are old, need renovation.

Hotel bem localizado, espaço muito agradável. Quarto para casal com duas camas juntas, o embora muito confortáveis não é agradável para um casal, de resto vale a pena, é acolhedor e muito charmoso. Recomendo!

I do like this hotel because of the price and location. The pool is good and the view is amazing. Unfortunately my room was on 2nd floor and the main front door to the building start making noise very early morning, while people start walking, it's badly effects sleeping. Also the breakfast for 10 EUR could be more improved by choices and for 3 times I have been eating it I never had it warm, always cold.

Located about 5km from the centre but easily accessible by local bus. Airport bus stop directly outside hotel. Decent breakfast. Rooms a little old and some rooms smell musty. Feels a bit like a package holiday hotel but reasonable value for money. First time I’ve ever seen a hotel place an extra charge for using an in-room safe.

We stayed in the hotel with group of friends. The experience was really nice — rooms are clean and design are interesting and cozy. You will have breakfast in the other hotel next door and it’s delicious. Also you can use territory of other hotel — there are really nice lounge zone, pool and sea-view. We enjoyed. Only one thing was disturbing — if you want to sleep with open windows it can be really noisy. Because of the buses (going from early morning) and loud people (who were singing and screaming drunk). But if you close the window everything is perfect. Thanks

Das Terasma Suite Hotel in Funchal, Portugal, beeindruckt trotz seiner geringen Größe mit einer ausgezeichneten Lage. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, und der Rooftop-Pool bietet eine angenehme Entspannung. Das Frühstück besticht durch eine Vielzahl von Früchten, allerdings könnte der im Keller gelegene Frühstücksraum die Atmosphäre etwas trüben. Insgesamt erhält das Hotel eine solide Bewertung von 8 von 10 Punkten.

Location was good as is just a 10 min walk to downtown. As a frequent traveler, I don't consider the hotel 5-star rated hotel. It's ok for a 4-star, but not 5. Doesn't meet a 5-star standard in several things. For example, if you are driving, parking is a little bit an hassle as you have to change from one building to another. Breakfast was good but not 5-star breakfast. Lack of warm breakfast dishes and pastries. Windows in the room not sound proof. Woke up severals times during night time as you could hear the noise from the Garbage truck. When you take a shower, leaks water towards the hand sink area. Pillows, not match a 5-star standard either. Was ok, but not great!
