Fairfield Inn & Suites Farmington

We stayed here as our base for visiting Chaco Canyon. Clean hotel and good location for visiting Chaco and Bisti. Ok breakfast selection. Only 5 minutes from downtown Farmington and decent restaurants and shopping. Would I spend my entire vacation here? No. But good for two nights visiting the amazing sites in this area of New Mexico.

I really liked this hotel. Very friendly and helpful front desk and breakfast staff. Room was large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. Nothing to dislike at all and, for what I paid, it was also good value for money.

Positives: Fast check in. Organized and clean lobby, hallway, and room. The check in staff, Aliyah, was professional, courteous, and efficient. Negatives: Two big spots in the bathroom wall that needs touch-up or repaint. Let the hotel staff know and they promised to fix it. The cap/lid of the central air system is broken. Limited parking in the front of the hotel, but with plenty of back parking spaces, all within reasonable walking distance. Many items at the breakfast was out and with less variety/limited choices, 2 out 4 juice choices were not available. Given it’s Marriott, I would expect better variety and wider selection compared to other Marriott. The restaurant and pantry area were clean. Comfortable of recommending this hotel to others.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Farmington (Bloomfield)

Friendly checkin staff. Room is adequate size and quite comfortable. Bath a bit small and dressing area in the main room a bit odd. Very large TV. Nice channel offering. Decent rates. A number of good restaurants easy to drive to. Pleasant common areas.
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Farmington

No threshold seal on the outside door so bugs came into the room under the door. Mold was on the inside wall surrounding that door. Air conditioner was so dirty that the grill on it felt greasy. The bathroom light switch was so old & worn that it would not ‘click’ on and off. All the furniture was beat up. There was a spill on the dresser that was not cleaned up (or stained). The mattresses were heavily soiled and stained. Shower head expelled slimy-feeling water, likely due to mold inside the shower head. Chair cushions were stained. Grime and dirt in the groves along the table edges. Closet shelf/bar were filthy. The wall mirror was mounted directly behind the refrigerator and microwave. Paint on door and walls very poorly “repaired”. Each concrete step on the stairs leading up to my second floor room were loose and wobbly on the framework. For 90+ dollars a night, I expect a nice clean room. This place miserably fails to even come close to being clean or neat. When a customer leaves happy, they might tell one or two of their friends, but when someone leaves after an experience like this, you can bet they’re going to tell everybody not to stay there. By the way, I have video of all of this on my phone if you need to see it.
