Excellent location, breakfast very good. Spa area nice too. Only snag is that we requested ice to our room , they told us that they would to chargeable.

It’s very pricey for what it actually is. The staff are lovely, especially Nazar who was an affable and friendly chap, however this hotel does not represent value for money. The facilities are very basic and this is reflected in the rooms and amenities. The dining, although acceptable, is nothing to write home about. The pool is very basic and there is very little for the children to do. I am also confused about the beaches, which people seem to love, but I found to be nice but not spectacular. Either I missed the point of this hotel or people have unnecessarily hyped it up. This felt like a very basic IBIS type hotel that happens to be in Cyprus. Considering what they charge, I think the Arkin needs to step it up.

the facilities & location are great. true 5*. but a few things wound us up 1 - there should of been complimentary milk in the fridge/mini bar. when we checked it wasnt there. we called reception to tell them that it was missing. they said they'd bring it up but we'd be charged for the delivery to the room. didnt sit right with us 2 - the shampoo in the shower was empty. we asked twice for it to be filled up. never happened 3 - the batteries in the remote were dead. on day 1 we asked for them to be replaced. never happened 4 - lastly, at 11:50, we came down as check out was 12, so 10mins to get stuff in the car & go to reception. as we walked our cases out the door to put in the car, the reception abruptly ''erm excuse can I help you?'' talking to the back of our heads. she clearly thought we was going to put the bags in the car & drive off without paying the tab we had on our room. wasnt nice to be made to feel that way purely for number 4, we wont return

My family and I have been coming to this hotel for years, being from Cyprus, we like many others don’t stay here but come regularly and pay to use the pool. This year we have been overwhelmingly shocked by the downturn in service and hospitality. They offer ‘poolside service’ but no one ever approaches to see if you need anything, you virtually have to chase them down! It is noted however, that they are very quick to take payment for the sunbeds when visiting but this is the extent of any sort of haste in service. The restaurant is much the same, we waited 1 hr for our food, some burgers and a salad and when we asked we were told by the waiter “I don’t know, I just take the order”. The level of deterioration in service is unprecedented. However, the main reason I was pushed to write this review is due to the disgusting service and treatment we received when attempting to use the gym and spa facilities. We opted to pay for an off-peak pass which meant we could use the gym and spa during the weekdays between certain hours and these were the only restrictions we were informed of before the hotel took our money. Upon using the gym for the first time (in our allotted hours) the man from the desk entered and stopped me 5 mins into my workout to inform me that I was not allowed to wear crocs in the gym and that it was okay for that day but from then on I would have to wear trainers. I then said that unfortunately I haven’t brought any trainers with me on holiday and always wear crocs to the gym at home so what am I to do? If there were specific rules regarding attire then it’s the hotel’s responsibility to inform guests before taking their money as he was now essentially saying that I was not allowed to use the gym I’d paid for. He then said he doesn’t have to tell me and that I should know that crocs aren’t allowed in the gym as everyone knows this and to not wear proper footwear in the gym is against international law?! How ridiculous!! I insisted that he refund my membership and he then said he would dock a day for the 5 mins I had spent there that day and he would need to call accounts and it would take a few days. He then (thinking I couldn’t understand Turkish as our entire exchange had been in English) then tried to complain to my father that he had been kind and reasonable to me and that I was making the entire thing into an issue. He was then shocked when I reiterated in response that it is the hotel’s responsibility if they want to impose ridiculous restrictions on guests to inform them of it. My father then went to see a manager who reiterated the absolute rubbish about international law and that the money would be returned in a few days (I’m not very hopeful). As I said, we’ve been coming for years and the way we were treated was simply laughable. We will never be returning after this, we had thought it had gone downhill but this was the cherry on top. Absolute ****** with no idea how to run a hotel.

Stayed here 2 years ago and it was the best experience ever. But this time not as good. When I booked it only gave an option of Garden room view with balcony or sea view room with balcony. When we checked in - we did have a garden view but through a tiny window in the corner of the room. My partner was told they were full. I went to see reception and they did find us a room with a garden view with balcony but the room was even smaller than the first. Otherwise, food nice, beach amazing and most the staff are great and polite. Feel a little let down that we paid double for less nights for a not great room.

Had a large ala carte meal and drinks at the hotel, and walked down to the beach later, a rather rude guy managing the beach beds said after a short while, we would have to pay about 100 USD to sit there (4 adults, one child) , or else we can go to the public area condescendingly. This is the type of hotel we would visit, but not now. Rather go to Sunrise Pearl in Protaras.

I have stayed several times at this hotel over the years but this trip was a huge disappointment. Everything about the hotel has fallen:- the carpet in our room was stained, the staff weren't at all helpful or knowledgable, indeed the receptionist on the desk at the time of arrival seemed to have no idea of what she was doing. Worst of all was the internet connection in our room which was unusable despite the hotel IT staff visiting twice to try and speed up the connection. When I complained to the duty manager he shrugged his shoulders and walked away, no attempt was made to manage my issues, indeed no-one cared. The hotel was expensive for Famagusta which is fine if the service matches the price but in this case it fell far short. I will never stay at this hotel again.

In this period of the year, the HVAC is set on heating, which means it is impossible to cool down the room temperature. You better close the curtains during the day and open the window in the evening and the night. Pray to have wind so that mosquitos are not flying, or be prepared to be either attacked or unable to sleep in an overheated room

I ordered a mixed breakfast and the service was fast and nice. Breakfast options were quite sufficient and delicious. The pan-fried egg was overcooked, but overall I liked the breakfast here. I definitely recommend you to visit this hotel and have a holiday…
