As many of the other reviews state this hotel is not in the old city - it is a 20min walk (about 2km) down to the old city, which in the heat of the midday sun can be an issue for some, particularly if you are trekking uphill back to the hotel. The best alternative option is to catch the #4 bus from the Pile Gate and then get off on the 4th stop which is 100m away from the hotel (4min bus ride). There are not a large number of reasonable restaurants close by and the on-premises Bosnian restaurant (Taj Mahal) cannot be booked to the room. It is a mid-range hotel built in the 1970s, so it does have an older feel. It is not that large, with just over 150 rooms but larger than the boutique hotels we were used to staying it on our Croatian trip. We stayed in one of their classic rooms - without any view (unless you count the adjoining building as a view). The double bed was just two single beds pushed together, which meant disappearing down the crevice in-between regularly during the night. I'd suggest booking a superior room, which are larger, more modern, in the newer wing of the hotel and include a bathtub. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and relatively fast. The air conditioning only be turned on when the room key was inserted, which meant, dependent on the room orientation, you could come back to a warm room which might take some time to cool down. They only supplied one bottle of water for entire stay, which they could easily address. The swimming pool is fairly small, almost always in shade and can only be accessed via the lobby (doesn't have any change facilities by the pool). We arrived in the morning, well before the 2pm check-in, and whilst they stored our luggage and offered us use of the pool whilst we waited there really wasn't anywhere to get changed and take up the offer. The breakfast, included in the room tariff, was a reasonable quality with a relatively choice of options however it didn't vary at all during our five-day stay. The lobby/foyer can get congested at times when larger tour groups arrive, with all their luggage in tow. The staff were polite and endeavoured to help us where they could. Not my favourite accommodation in Croatia but serviceable for what we needed.

Nice clean modern hotel situated a few minutes walk from the marina. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, although the pillows were a bit on the soft side for me. The Nespresso machine for a coffee in your room was a very nice touch. The bathroom was very clean, with a walk in shower, but the only toiletries provided were a squeezy bottle of shower gel, and a similar dispenser of soap by the hand basin. A little bit of conditioner, or lotion would have been nice. Breakfast is a help yourself buffet affair, with a very good varied selection fruit, cereals, cheese, cold meats, along with eggs, bacon sausages etc. Would be happy to stay there again

It should be a four-star hotel, and the off-season stay is really cost-effective. The room is large in size, well-equipped, and the accommodation experience is very good. Free breakfast is provided every morning. Although the variety is not rich, it can be full, and there are salty, sweet, fruit and drinks, which can also satisfy all tastes. The hotel is very close to a dock for boating, and there is a certain distance from the main attractions, but it takes less than half an hour to walk there. There is also a section of the road along the seaside, and the scenery is beautiful.

The location of the hotel is very good, close to the sunset beach. (In fact, Dubrovnik is a gravel beach) Our three-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments are on the 6th floor. They are sea view rooms, and you can watch the sunset while lying on the bed. The interior facilities of the apartment are good, and more importantly, the first floor of the apartment is fully equipped with supermarkets, restaurants and cinemas. It is worth mentioning that the staff here is very friendly. The two restaurants she recommended to me are very good. The recommended tourist routes and transportation skills are very professional. 👍 one.

Although it is a little far from the old town, it was a beautiful hotel with a quiet and clean surrounding. The construction of the hotel itself is complicated, but the very kind staff will guide you to your room, and the front desk staff will answer your questions very kindly. It is recommended because the price is relatively low.

First impression as we drove up, the building is very large and not that attractive, however the gardens are attractive. A long review but I hope this gives visitors an accurate picture of what to expect. I arrived at the hotel at about noon but my room was not ready so I went to the bar area for lunch. Food in the hotel is quite expensive - at least the same as UK prices if not more, I had a Caesar salad and cold drink for about £20. My room was ready at just after 1. I chose this hotel as it was billed as four star. However they obviously did not spend time during lockdown on decorating and refreshing the rooms which were quite tired looking. I am not sure what makes it four star as there was not much to make this hotel stand out. One of the lifts down to the main restaurant was out of service and stuck on the 4th floor for my entire stay, with no apparent attempts to fix it. Plus points - the bed was large and comfortable; there was enough hanging space; it was reasonably clean; there was a kettle and mugs with tea, coffee and sugar, however no milk for tea was provided to guests, just sachets of coffee creamer. I did request milk and the tiniest of jugs was provided. The WiFi is good - which goes someway to making up for the lack of TV. Minus points - there is apparently no digital TV in Croatia, so the 12 channels that the TV in my room was tuned into were via aerial. There were three in English language - BBC World News, CNN and Bloomberg. There appeared to be entertainment channels in German and Italian so I am not sure why, in a hotel frequented by UK guests with TUI, Newmarket Holidays and Jet2, they cannot find any entertainment channels in English. The TV was not new enough to allow for screen mirroring / chrome casting so I watched my iPad when I wanted to watch anything, as the WiFi was good enough to allow for this. Many people visiting will be visiting with friends, but for some solo travellers a decent TV service is a must. While the bathroom was clean with a large shower (no bath) the water temperature in the shower varied between scalding and freezing without me touching the tap at all. Additionally the towels were threadbare and slightly grey looking. There was daily cleaning but the bed linen did not appear to have been changed during my stay at all, apart from the pillow cases. I had opted for half board and my first meal there was the buffet dinner. There are several stations but no one to explain what the options were. There were a lot of choices, pasta dishes, meats including chicken, daily roast, steaks, salads, cold fish/meats. But none of it was particularly tasty or appetising. Triumph of quantity over quality. A real criticism of the dinner service is that they will not serve you tap water - if you want to drink anything it has to be bought, including water. Our TUI tour rep had already mentioned that the tap water in Croatia is drinkable, so this decision by the hotel management is inexplicable and appears

We had a beautiful sea view room on 4th floor with nothing but the sea & islands to see when stepped out onto the balcony. Great location for watching the sunset from many locations either on the waterfront, roof top bar or our own balcony. Breakfast was the usual expected fare and whilst there we experienced very busy and very quiet times. Staff were always on hand to get anything you may need Location was perfect, a short 15 minute 2 euro bus ride to Old town - easy to navigate as both the hotel and Old town are 'end of the line' so can't get lost! Peaceful and pretty 15 walk to more bars and restaurants at Sunset Beach on way or hour walk around the land to the new port area. Housekeeping - cleaned and tidied the room each day, had to occasionally ask for more tea / coffee / milk although it wasn't a problem as we just got some in the morning at breakfast. Was a little early some days (for us) but we just put the do not disturb sign out and removed it when we went down for breakfast Was the perfect base for our week away and would love to return when we next go to Dubrovnik

We stayed at the Royal Neptun for 1 week, it is 1 of 3 hotels forming a complex - Neptun is a 4 star and the other 2, 5 star and we could definitely see the difference. The highs, the location is outstanding, the walk along the promenade to the bars and restaurants, superb. The roof top bar and pool, amazing place to have drinks and watch the sunset, the pizzas in ‘on the rocks bar’ yummy, food and setting in Zoe was well worth the money, and the massage in the spa was one of the best I’ve had. So why only 3 stars: we checked in, other guests checking in were offered support with their luggage which we weren’t, maybe only for the 5 star, we didn’t mind but just noticeable. We walked into our room, first sight clean and tidy but then started to notice the red and white stains on the carpet, broken shower and safe, bathroom door sort of fixed. Breakfast was not a pleasant experience at all, it is not big enough for the size of the hotel, lots and lots of people walking around looking for tables, no management overseeing the flow of customers, staff moral appeared low, no one was smiling, would pass and not acknowledge you, when trying to attract attention it was like they looked through you and go in a different direction. Food ran out very quickly, all meats, cheeses etc were not covered and I could see the flies landing on it, the queue for omelettes was at least 10mins so big gathered all around where other guests were trying to eat. Pool area, as this is a family hotel was really surprised to see glass being used, 1 time were saw a glass break and a little boy cut his foot and second a wine glass broke and the stem ended up in the pool - no one was asked to leave whilst it was cleaned. This hotel has the making of amazing place to stay so hoping this feedback will help make the tweaks it’s needs.

GGuest UserStunning Hotel in the best location. A quality hotel where everything is just perfect, location, facilities, food, bars and staff. Within close walking distance to Old Town and right on the sea water's edge. Plenty of sun loungers 1 yard from the sea. Fabulous restaurant on this level also looking straight at the Old Town. Rooms are super comfortable and spacious. the staff are second to none. Breakfast is amazing...anything and everything! GGuest UserThe first impression was mega. Beautiful large suite with sea view. All right. The room service was OK in the first two days too. Breakfast leaves to wish. At first glance everything the heart wants. But, it doesn't really taste good to unsavourable. The service staff has everything possible to do, just not host the guests or be careful. Completely at the wrong place. For 5 stars what else expects. The cleaning of the room was unfortunately also super great the first two days (have had 6 nights) the last days it was so bad, partly only the washing box made the beds and the towels changed. In the suite there was a nespresso machine with 4 capsules, we were to 2 and accordingly we had only 1 two days of what it was. After that it was no longer filled. Very very bad, you could do so many little things better...

GGuest UserMy fiancé and I visited for 4 nights as he was taking part in the Dubrovnik triathlon. We booked with EasyJet Holidays and had a private transfer to and from the airport. Our driver both ways was excellent. On the journey into Dubrovnik he stopped at a viewpoint so that we could see the Old Town for the first time. Our driver on the way back to the airport told us more of the local area that we had started to see. First impressions of the hotel were really good. Impressive entrance and lobby area. The bedroom had a beautiful view of the sea, the nearer islands and the distant coastline. The room had a good sized wardrobe with hangers. There was a well stocked minibar if you want that kind of thing and what we thought was a welcome bottle of wine but actually had a sign next to it to say it was part of the display and chargeable. There are no drawers in the room so for a couple staying longer than we did, there is inadequate storage. The bathroom is stocked with nice shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, shower gel and body lotion. The pool area was clean but we only used the inside pool which was on the top floor which was a lovely space. The pool temperature said 27 degrees but was very cold. The jacuzzi was really nice as was the sauna and steam room! The reason for a low rating given that this is advertised as a 5 star hotel was the food, especially the evening meal, which was dreadful !! The breakfast was passable but I’ve eaten in better cafés !!! The restaurant was open until 10pm and one night we got there at 8.30 pm and the second time 9pm so nowhere near the end of service. We had to attract attention to order drinks. There is very little choice for starters. There were piles of soup bowls but no soup. The main course consisted of mostly overcooked meat or small bits of fish. The ‘veg’ last night was a choice of a pea slop in some form of gravy, a beetroot risotto that had no moisture and no taste and either potato pie or what I would call a hash brown. My fiancé and I got a selection of desserts as we’d hardly eaten anything and absolutely nothing had any taste or moisture - no ice cream, cream or custard available. Not even a cheese board and crackers. A really nice touch (not !) is that absolutely no one comes near to clear away dirty plates after each course and therefore you end up with a pile of leftovers and crockery in the middle of your table. Not a good thing at all !! The location of the hotel is very good and the No. 4 bus stops right outside and takes about 15 minutes to get to Pile and the entrance to the old town. (Get the Dubrovnik Pass which not only gives access to the City Walls and museums but also gives free bus travel). We ended up eating out twice because of the food and thank goodness we did; on a recommendation from a friend we went to the Panorama restaurant on our first night which is at the top of the cliff accessible via cable car - stunning views ! On our third night as we had such a bad experience in th

GGuest UserThis is a lovely hotel, clean rooms with good supply of hot water & easy to control air-con, clean pool, free pool towels and free safe (no deposit required), pleasant and welcoming staff. Great breakfast with lots of choice. The hotel kindly prepared us a packed breakfast one morning as we had booked an early trip. Also they were quite happy to provide us with an early morning call. Live music is provided several nights a week in the pool area and is good, and not overly loud. Poolside food is excellent and not too pricey. There are vending machines in the hotel so you can get cold drinks and snacks at any time, however they do appear to be a bit temperamental. I was concerned before I arrived after seeing some reports of construction work outside the hotel but in my opinion it has little impact on the hotel. The work is being carried out to the harbour road, so there is some disruption to the view of the boats and beyond from the hotel pool area. However in terms of noise, we experienced none during our stay other than a couple of lorries passing along the road. In terms of access, if you turn left outside the hotel gate, you can easily walk into the town on a well made road and footpath. If you turn right, it is rough underfoot and not suitable for high heeled shoes or pushchairs, but anyone wearing flat shoes and able-bodied is fine (but to be honest, there's little need to turn right). The buses run frequently into Old Dubrovnik (2 euros each way) and the bus stop is about a 10 mins amble up the hill on the roundabout (slightly less if you use the steps on the left after the hotel as it's a short cut). Plenty of restaurants up the hill and across the road to the pedestrian walkway to the beach. Lots of choice.

GGuest UserSuper beautiful small room! Nicely furnished with very comfortable bed. The location is absolutely top, in the middle of the old town. The owner is absolutely friendly, as well as the staff of the related restaurant directly below. The food is also very delicious. If I should come back to Dubrovnik, then in any case again in the Roko House.

땡돌이2Hotel Ivka is close to the city walls and 2.3 km to the city walls tour and the old town, though its 20 km from Dubrovnik airport towards the city. The first impression of the hotel is that it is clean and tidy. The room is spacious and bright for a hotel. Best of all, the breakfast is awesome. It's the best among the 18 days after entering Europe.. The food cooked with vegetables is really delicious. everything is satisfactory Highly recommended to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.

GGuest UserEverything was great - fabulous location and breakfast, the staff was super pleasant and we had great views - the only thing I would change is the bed was a little hard - I know some people like that but was too hard for me! Also - I’ve seen this comment before but you have to be able to walk up several flights of stairs with your luggage and you cannot Uber or taxi directly to the hotel - it’s about a 5 minute walk + the stairs from the nearest drop off. Absolutely worth it for the view and location but just a heads up if that’s a no for you or if you need wheelchair access! In the photos are a view from the hotel balcony for breakfast and the hotel from the other side of the beach! Gorgeous!

Llihaoguangbeat12This place is okay, our greeting was friendly and our room was comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable, and the pillows were good. The bathroom is small but had a bath and a good shower. There was plenty of storage space, which made a change. Breakfast was a buffet and had a good choice of things to choose from. The bus stop to Dubrovnik is just across the road, the journey is 15 minutes, and it costs 2 euros each way. The beach is outside the hotel, but take beach towels as sunbed hire is expensive. Staff are busy but polite.
