Dubrovnik Hotels with Bars

It was a beautiful and great stay all the staff that works in hotel was really friendly and kind I enjoyed my vacation here and also will share my experiences with my friends and family thank you for your great hospitality !

Lovely intimate boutique hotel, staff were friendly and helpful in all areas, glad we upgraded to a sea view well worth it. The food in the restaurants was excellent, breakfast was plentiful and plenty of choice. Would thoroughly recommend

Stunning Hotel in the best location. A quality hotel where everything is just perfect, location, facilities, food, bars and staff. Within close walking distance to Old Town and right on the sea water's edge. Plenty of sun loungers 1 yard from the sea. Fabulous restaurant on this level also looking straight at the Old Town. Rooms are super comfortable and spacious. the staff are second to none. Breakfast is amazing...anything and everything! Some would say expensive...however you always pay for quality and everything here is amazing quality!

Would just like to say this is our personal experience. We stayed here for 2 weeks which is not something we normally do in Europe but we also wanted to visit Bosnia / Hercegovina and Montenegro so decided on the 2 . What can you say, everything has been said. Pros: Check in easy, Reception area was bright and airy. Friendly and helpful, welcome drink nice touch. Rooms, exceptionally clean and spacious, bed very big and comfortable, nice size bathroom, shower great and lovely balcony with sun beds and table and chairs. Oh, forgot to mention stunning views. Also very quiet, never once heard neighbours. The 2 girls who cleaned our room, so lovely and took care of the room. Food, breakfast was fantastic, evening meals were very good, variety good and always found something to eat, meat or fish or stews, pasta, cheeses etc and sweet selection was great. Food was always well presented and fresh, breakfast smoothies were nice touch. Views from restaurant was stunning especially the sunsets. Staff, excellent experience, all so very friendly and helpful. They couldn’t do enough for you, special mention to Andrijana and Paola ( front of restaurant ), Tarek, Marijo and Selma ( restaurant staff ) and Miljenko and Damir ( restaurant managers ). They were a credit to the hotel, always greeting guests with a smile, so friendly, helpful and happy to chat and showed a real interest in you and what your experiences of the day etc. very knowledgeable about their country and local areas, gave you tips and ideas etc. they genuinely made the holiday experience that much better, thank you to them and all the staff. Facilities, both indoor and outdoor pools lovely, plenty of sun loungers , Gym, didn’t use so no comment. Plenty of loungers at beach and towels when room card shown. Bar and beach bistro area lovely, plenty of comfy chairs to relax in. Lift from beach to all floors if you didn’t want to walk. Location, no.6 bus stops 50metres from hotel, buy tickets in hotel shop, cheaper, takes you straight into old town, which is first and last stop. Walks either side of hotel, one takes you along coastal dirt road to port via couple of beaches, and good drinks stop, Shelby’s ( after Peaky Blinders ) was good. The other along coast and past hotels and cafes to Lapad and Sunset beach. Visit The Cave Bar for drink along the way, cave bar is fab and outside view is beautiful. SUNSETS STUNNING. Concierge desk, booked up some trips from here, girls friendly and helpful, not pushy to sell, prices matched those from vendors in town. Shout out to Leona and Matea. Cons, only one, pillows to soft. Overall it was a fantastic experience and would recommend and definitely go back. More than anything, the staff, location and views make this special.

As many of the other reviews state this hotel is not in the old city - it is a 20min walk (about 2km) down to the old city, which in the heat of the midday sun can be an issue for some, particularly if you are trekking uphill back to the hotel. The best alternative option is to catch the #4 bus from the Pile Gate and then get off on the 4th stop which is 100m away from the hotel (4min bus ride). There are not a large number of reasonable restaurants close by and the on-premises Bosnian restaurant (Taj Mahal) cannot be booked to the room. It is a mid-range hotel built in the 1970s, so it does have an older feel. It is not that large, with just over 150 rooms but larger than the boutique hotels we were used to staying it on our Croatian trip. We stayed in one of their classic rooms - without any view (unless you count the adjoining building as a view). The double bed was just two single beds pushed together, which meant disappearing down the crevice in-between regularly during the night. I'd suggest booking a superior room, which are larger, more modern, in the newer wing of the hotel and include a bathtub. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and relatively fast. The air conditioning only be turned on when the room key was inserted, which meant, dependent on the room orientation, you could come back to a warm room which might take some time to cool down. They only supplied one bottle of water for entire stay, which they could easily address. The swimming pool is fairly small, almost always in shade and can only be accessed via the lobby (doesn't have any change facilities by the pool). We arrived in the morning, well before the 2pm check-in, and whilst they stored our luggage and offered us use of the pool whilst we waited there really wasn't anywhere to get changed and take up the offer. The breakfast, included in the room tariff, was a reasonable quality with a relatively choice of options however it didn't vary at all during our five-day stay. The lobby/foyer can get congested at times when larger tour groups arrive, with all their luggage in tow. The staff were polite and endeavoured to help us where they could. Not my favourite accommodation in Croatia but serviceable for what we needed.

This is a lovely hotel, clean rooms with good supply of hot water & easy to control air-con, clean pool, free pool towels and free safe (no deposit required), pleasant and welcoming staff. Great breakfast with lots of choice. The hotel kindly prepared us a packed breakfast one morning as we had booked an early trip. Also they were quite happy to provide us with an early morning call. Live music is provided several nights a week in the pool area and is good, and not overly loud. Poolside food is excellent and not too pricey. There are vending machines in the hotel so you can get cold drinks and snacks at any time, however they do appear to be a bit temperamental. I was concerned before I arrived after seeing some reports of construction work outside the hotel but in my opinion it has little impact on the hotel. The work is being carried out to the harbour road, so there is some disruption to the view of the boats and beyond from the hotel pool area. However in terms of noise, we experienced none during our stay other than a couple of lorries passing along the road. In terms of access, if you turn left outside the hotel gate, you can easily walk into the town on a well made road and footpath. If you turn right, it is rough underfoot and not suitable for high heeled shoes or pushchairs, but anyone wearing flat shoes and able-bodied is fine (but to be honest, there's little need to turn right). The buses run frequently into Old Dubrovnik (2 euros each way) and the bus stop is about a 10 mins amble up the hill on the roundabout (slightly less if you use the steps on the left after the hotel as it's a short cut). Plenty of restaurants up the hill and across the road to the pedestrian walkway to the beach. Lots of choice.

My fiancé and I visited for 4 nights as he was taking part in the Dubrovnik triathlon. We booked with EasyJet Holidays and had a private transfer to and from the airport. Our driver both ways was excellent. On the journey into Dubrovnik he stopped at a viewpoint so that we could see the Old Town for the first time. Our driver on the way back to the airport told us more of the local area that we had started to see. First impressions of the hotel were really good. Impressive entrance and lobby area. The bedroom had a beautiful view of the sea, the nearer islands and the distant coastline. The room had a good sized wardrobe with hangers. There was a well stocked minibar if you want that kind of thing and what we thought was a welcome bottle of wine but actually had a sign next to it to say it was part of the display and chargeable. There are no drawers in the room so for a couple staying longer than we did, there is inadequate storage. The bathroom is stocked with nice shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, shower gel and body lotion. The pool area was clean but we only used the inside pool which was on the top floor which was a lovely space. The pool temperature said 27 degrees but was very cold. The jacuzzi was really nice as was the sauna and steam room! The reason for a low rating given that this is advertised as a 5 star hotel was the food, especially the evening meal, which was dreadful !! The breakfast was passable but I’ve eaten in better cafés !!! The restaurant was open until 10pm and one night we got there at 8.30 pm and the second time 9pm so nowhere near the end of service. We had to attract attention to order drinks. There is very little choice for starters. There were piles of soup bowls but no soup. The main course consisted of mostly overcooked meat or small bits of fish. The ‘veg’ last night was a choice of a pea slop in some form of gravy, a beetroot risotto that had no moisture and no taste and either potato pie or what I would call a hash brown. My fiancé and I got a selection of desserts as we’d hardly eaten anything and absolutely nothing had any taste or moisture - no ice cream, cream or custard available. Not even a cheese board and crackers. A really nice touch (not !) is that absolutely no one comes near to clear away dirty plates after each course and therefore you end up with a pile of leftovers and crockery in the middle of your table. Not a good thing at all !! The location of the hotel is very good and the No. 4 bus stops right outside and takes about 15 minutes to get to Pile and the entrance to the old town. (Get the Dubrovnik Pass which not only gives access to the City Walls and museums but also gives free bus travel). We ended up eating out twice because of the food and thank goodness we did; on a recommendation from a friend we went to the Panorama restaurant on our first night which is at the top of the cliff accessible via cable car - stunning views ! Although the hotel is not large, but the location is convenient, the hotel elevator goes straight to a small beach and can swim. Hotel service is very warm, arrived at the hotel at noon, although the room is not cleaned for a while, the hotel will send complimentary drinks, while enjoying the sea view and rest. The hotel’s restaurant is Michelin II and you can taste it without leaving home.

It’s so over, the sea view is super beautiful, and you can watch the sunset at night. Although the dinner is a bit expensive, it is very delicious. In fact, it is more expensive than the ancient city, but the restaurant on the other side of the ancient city is not comparable to the taste here. There is a bus to the old town at the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient.

We stayed at the Royal Neptun for 1 week, it is 1 of 3 hotels forming a complex - Neptun is a 4 star and the other 2, 5 star and we could definitely see the difference. The highs, the location is outstanding, the walk along the promenade to the bars and restaurants, superb. The roof top bar and pool, amazing place to have drinks and watch the sunset, the pizzas in ‘on the rocks bar’ yummy, food and setting in Zoe was well worth the money, and the massage in the spa was one of the best I’ve had. So why only 3 stars: we checked in, other guests checking in were offered support with their luggage which we weren’t, maybe only for the 5 star, we didn’t mind but just noticeable. We walked into our room, first sight clean and tidy but then started to notice the red and white stains on the carpet, broken shower and safe, bathroom door sort of fixed. Breakfast was not a pleasant experience at all, it is not big enough for the size of the hotel, lots and lots of people walking around looking for tables, no management overseeing the flow of customers, staff moral appeared low, no one was smiling, would pass and not acknowledge you, when trying to attract attention it was like they looked through you and go in a different direction. Food ran out very quickly, all meats, cheeses etc were not covered and I could see the flies landing on it, the queue for omelettes was at least 10mins so big gathered all around where other guests were trying to eat. Pool area, as this is a family hotel was really surprised to see glass being used, 1 time were saw a glass break and a little boy cut his foot and second a wine glass broke and the stem ended up in the pool - no one was asked to leave whilst it was cleaned. This hotel has the making of amazing place to stay so hoping this feedback will help make the tweaks it’s needs.
