It's a pity that I didn't take any pictures. It's great to stay at her house in Datong. Taxi from Datong South Station to the store is 25 yuan. Taking the bus is more economical and convenient. Going to Yungang Grottoes by bus costs 2 yuan per person for a round trip, swiping a bus card, taking a taxi or not using a meter costs 50 yuan. It's very close to the ancient city. It costs 30 yuan per person to take a battery car around the ancient city. Thanks.

We are close to large shopping malls such as New Parkson and Hualin New World. We have an excellent geographical location and convenient transportation. There is a direct bus downstairs. You can choose various travel methods and the transportation is convenient.

The hotel service is very good, the front desk responds quickly, it is worthy of being a mid-to-high-end hotel, and it is indeed different from those express hotels. The bedding is very clean, and there are free small drinks in the room. The facilities are complete, there is a laundry room and a gym, and the washing machine is a washer-dryer. The location is great, near the west gate in the ancient city (about five minutes walk), three minutes walk to Huayan Temple, five or six minutes walk to Sandaocai Bell Tower, and one minute to Huayan Temple bus station. During the May Day holiday, the ancient city is restricted by time, so the area near the bus station and the ancient city gate is very important. If you stay in the B&B hotels in the ancient street at the entrance of Huayan Temple, you have to walk out to take a bus (the pedestrian street car can't enter), so the location is really amazing. The scenic spots in the ancient city can be reached by bus.
The first floor is the lobby (café), the second floor is the guest rooms, restaurant and courtyard, and there is a balcony on the second floor, where you can drink tea or coffee while looking at Huayan Temple. The breakfast is a set meal, very healthy, with fruits, eggs, vegetables, co**** grains, knife-cut noodles, bread slices, etc.
The room we stayed in was not particularly large, but it was ok. Only the bathroom was slightly small, with complete bathroom supplies and clean hygiene.
The service was very good, there was water and sea buckthorn juice in the room, and it was a very warm family. The child said that he would stay here again when he came to Datong next time, and he wanted to change to a room with a loft.

Very nice hotel, with charm. Just renovated, so the hotel combines the old style with the modern technology. Everything is new. Very good Chinese breakfast, which included a good coffee and some western pastries, perfect combination. The hotel is within the ancient walls, very close to the must see sightseeing locations. The staff is very nice and helpful. Victor picked me up at the station over 1 am and the receptionist waited for me with a nice welcome fruit plate. He also helped me to organize one day tour around Datong. Everything was perfect, thank you!

I came to Datong to watch a concert and chose a niche brand that I had never stayed at before. Because it was also a chain brand owned by a group, I felt it was safe. It was actually better than expected.
-style. The decoration is very suitable for young people. The lobby is a bit cyberpunk? Or technology style? More vibrant blue-orange
-Configuration. Then the lobby also provides free iced American food, and there is also a Hanfu experience (I came alone and didn’t try it). There is also an open listening area next to the lobby. Although it is small, it has all the necessary features, which is great for the city of Datong.
-Guest room. There are many details, such as full-length mirrors and bathroom disinfectant sprays. The smarter Xiaodu can replace curtain lights and air conditioners, which basically frees your hands. The TV can be projected onto the screen to watch dramas. Wenda and all of her colleagues were wonderful! English is spoken here. Fantastic service, friendly, helpful, very clean and spacious rooms, really nice view over the river and at night with all of the lights. Breakfast is good, the facilities are clean and presentable. The room was quiet and the window can be opened if you want fresh air or to cool down the room a bit, the ac works too to cool it down in winter but that’s recirculated air with some people smoking in non-smoking rooms (typical). Our room did not smell which was great and although we had neighbours we could not hear them, so good for light sleepers. Only downside is the bed is firm. Quick 10 minute didi to the ancient city, malls, delicious lunch and food places. The hotel organised a driver to take us to the hanging temple, yungang grottoes and then to a delicious local restaurant very affordable, helpful, reliable and kind driver (WeChat: 永恒). Also recommend going to the art gallery and museum only 10 mins away. It’s a good location.

YYanyYanI am from Malaysia, totally obsessed with this place and location, the person in charge, the lady explained to us the story and the history of this 2000 years old building Old Pipa ,I know is the old building with historic but didn't know the much story behind until I Google it, very appreciated that we still able to enjoy such a beautiful and well maintained room and building . The room come with a/c,hot shower smart toilet bowl, slipper and toothbrush and kettle. Breakfast is good. Love it. Hope people that come to stay here spent some time on the architectural and antiques that display in the duilding. Will definitely introduce to my friends and family if they visit 山西。

GGuest UserExcellent. Done in the traditional hotel style but with very modern in-room amenities. Bathroom is clean and private, with nice shower including good quality—free flow—shampoo and bodywash, clean toilet and a proper door (no glass bathrooms here!). It’s so hard to find a hotel room like this these days. Most importantly, all the staff were totally amazing, and the manager is so friendly and keen to help and can speak some English which makes things all the easier. There are quite a few shaokao and noodle places around the hotel, and importantly, the snowman drink place (蜜雪冰城) is not too far away! The hotel is just a couple of Ks south of the most popular entrance to the amazing ancient wall (大同古城), and in the other direction, about five hundred metres to another nice park called Mingtan Park where I flew my new drone for the first time ever while a local man practiced perfectly his Taoist meditation completely undeterred by the annoying whirring sound of the drone! My only regret is not planning more than a single night here. There’s so much more to Datong than just the Yungang Grottoes and the Hengshan Hanging Temple (though they are both totally spectacular!), so stay a couple of nights at least if you can.

From the moment you step into the hotel lobby, you can feel the warm service attitude of the hotel staff. Whether it's the polite reception by the bellman or the meticulous attention to detail at the front desk, every detail reveals the hotel's respect and care for its guests. This kind of enthusiasm is not limited to the front desk. The floor attendants and lobby managers also make people feel at home: the temperature is cooling down today and the wind is very windy outside. When we arrived, the doorman took the initiative to help arrange parking spaces. Knowing that we had a lot of luggage, he helped push the luggage trolley. I discovered that another helpful gentleman was the lobby manager. Mr. Yang, who came over all the way, learned that we were traveling to Datong and enthusiastically told us that if we went to see the ancient capital lantern festival, the hotel had a free round-trip line; as soon as we checked in at the lobby, we watched the warm Tea and hand towels; special thanks to Mr. Yang Wenyuan, the lobby manager
There were even more surprises in the room. All toiletries are from the L'Occitane brand, providing guests with a high-quality experience. In addition, the hotel has also carefully prepared children's dental kits and slippers, fully considering the needs of families with children. There are also small lucky bags placed in the room, which are full of the charm of traditional Chinese culture, allowing people to feel the strong festive atmosphere during the journey.
Standing in front of the window, the beautiful scenery outside the window is even more refreshing. Datong Yungang Hotel is not only a place to stay, but also a leisure place where people can relax and enjoy life.
So far, the only drawback is the placement and privacy of the bathtub in the room. It is not convenient for the whole family to travel together.

JJamesHarrisI actually stayed here for three nights, in two different rooms. Both the rooms were very spacious and light, which I appreciated. The room wasn’t spotlessly clean but definitely satisfactory for the price paid. The biggest problem for me was with the bathroom. In the first bathroom, the smell of smoke seemed to be coming through the vent from another room, and in both bathrooms the shower would benefit from hotter water and better water pressure. Despite this, the manager and the sister who worked on the reception were both very friendly and helpful. The manager let me use her phone number for my food delivery(so she could speak to and direct the driver) and even drove me to the hospital to take a COVID test on my last night. They couldn’t have done more to help me and I really appreciated it. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Datong.

QQingchengxianshengDatong has four days and three nights, and I stayed in a hotel every day. This is the first one. I stayed in this hotel many years ago. It seemed to be a Holiday Inn brand before, but now it has changed to this name. The hotel is located next to the main road, with convenient transportation and close to the ancient city. Compared with the previous stay, it feels a lot different, especially the service. I feel like I can't afford to offend them.
Facilities: Maybe it's a few years old, the facilities and equipment are relatively old, the sound insulation in the room is not particularly good, and you can hear the sound of plugging and unplugging appliances next door when you sit at the table.
Hygiene: The overall hygiene is okay, but some details need attention
Environment: Although it is away from the main road, it is relatively quiet.
Service: I have to complain about this. The room service is very reluctant, especially asking for things. I wanted to put the beds together in the twin room I booked, but they said directly that we can't do it. I have stayed in so many hotels, and I can put the beds together, but I am not happy here. I can only put the beds together by myself, and then restore them to their original state when I leave, for fear of being criticized.

GGeorgeI enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There is quite a bit to see around Lingqiu, and I should have stayed one extra night or two. Miss Liu (刘小姐), the front receptionist, was extremely helpful, even going all the way to accompany me to the bus stop to catch the bus heading to the Pingxingguan Battle site. Miss Liu also assisted with booking a cab for my visit to the Jueshan Pagoda. This famous Pagoda was founded before England was established by William the Conqueror (if I am wrong, then pardon me, but the Pagoda was built sometime before 1077 A.D. during the Northern Wei Dynasty). Miss Liu also directed me to the gravesite of King Wu of the Northern Wei Dynasty which is right in downtown Lingqiu.
There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. One restaurant, next door to the right of the hotel, serves a wondering braised fish; the other a few doors away, sells delicious meat pies.
My room was professionally cleaned and serviced daily.
The hotel even allows me to doze off on the reception floor sofa to await my night train to Beijing.
I will return to this hotel if I return to Lingqiu.

VVSTWe enjoyed our three nights stay in this hotel. Quiet and clean except for some not so pleasant smell from the bathroom. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. This includes the free pickup transport driver, the front desk staff and the janitors as well. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so delicious and nutritious, too. We enjoyed the three mornings breakfast with different menu for three consecutive days. The chef and his wife were also very cheerful to see us enjoy their cooking. 👍👍👍👍👍
This hotel is located near to Datong South Railway Station. If you are using the public bus, there are five buses passing through :#68,#66,#61,#31,#14.
Bus #68 & #66 also go to the city. The traveling time from the hotel to the city by public bus is about ½ an hour, ticket price is 2 Yuan each. It's only 20mins by taxi, 15-20 Yuan.

GGuest UserThis hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though.
Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!

I found a very good youth hostel in a comprehensive comparison. I chose an eight-person room. The hostel feels that the environment is clean and tidy as a whole. The graffiti on the walls is very interesting. There are also two cute big oranges, all hydropower is available, the landlord is a retired uncle, the person is very polite and kind, the house needs anything to ask him, I put down my luggage that day and went to the ancient city to check in. Going out is the ancient city, very convenient and lively. The next day I went to Yungang. I had to leave at noon, because I might come back late. After I told my uncle, my uncle said that I could leave it okay. Then I came back at three o'clock and the phone was out of power. Then I charged it here again.
