First of all, I am most satisfied with the breakfast! The offal is so delicious. The main food in Datong Hotel is staple food, and there are few green vegetables. I can only eat green leafy vegetables and fruits in the hotel every morning. I like to eat steamed red dates in the hotel. I got a new way to eat it, and the sister in charge of breakfast is very enthusiastic and proactive. Facilities: Those who like fitness must book this hotel, the equipment is quite complete Service: The attitude of the hotel front desk staff and the aunt who cleans the room are very enthusiastic, and they also sent fruit plates to the room twice. Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were more than adequate with a choice of varieties. Hotel location was ok just outside the wall though neighbouring shops were all shuttered. Taxis plentiful and inexpensive. Nightly dinner was at the hotel restaurant - good food, surprisingly very affordable prices and extremely good services from the staff. What stood out most were the very helpful, cheerful staff, at the front desk, restaurants, and cleaners!

The hotel is situated not far from the old walled town and equal distance to the shopping area. Formerly a Holiday Inn now independent. The rooms are large and comfortable with good work desk and wifi. Comfortable bed gives good rest. The fridge had been removed but there is kettle and plenty of water, every day some fruit was delivered to the room which I appreciated. Hotel has gym, swimming pool and two restaurant, given the price it was very good value for money and I would happily stay again.

I recently came to the ancient city of Datong from Beijing and chose Yungang Jianguo Hotel to stay. When you first walk into the imposing lobby, the exquisite decoration is very eye-catching. In particular, the service reception is warm and thoughtful, and the business is skillful. Special praise for the two beautiful waiters, Meng Nan and Wang Caiyun, who took the initiative to help solve every problem they encountered. There was also a waiter on the 8th floor of Tower A who helped adjust the air conditioner and was very responsible. When we came to the restaurant at noon and chose the buffet, the waiters Sun Liying and Wang Hao were enthusiastic and thoughtful, and promptly helped solve minor situations we encountered. Thumbs up to them and all the service staff in the store! With three days and two nights of food and accommodation here, we felt like home. The room is spacious, clean and hygienic, bathing is very convenient, and sleeping is very smooth. For breakfast, the buffet has rich dishes and a lot of options. The color, aroma and taste are both good and delicious. The milk and soy milk coffee is very suitable for our taste. Overall, this was a very pleasant accommodation and dining experience. Datong left a very clear and good impression on us. The accommodation, food, services and facilities of Jianguo Hotel left us with good memories.

Excellent hotel! The service was exceptional. The ladies at the reception were amazing. They booked us a taxi for visiting the great Buddhas and they provided us with a breakfast picnic bag when we left too early in the morning. The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the old town. Quite handy. There is a free laundry room that we could use for our clothes. Much needed! The buffet breakfast was delightful and varied. Perfect stay!

I loved this hotel. It has an old-fashioned charm that made me feel right at home. My room was very large, comfortable, and well-equipped. All of the staff and service people were extremely courteous from start to finish. The Chinese restaurant on the 7th floor has a great choice of dishes! Highly recommended, and excellent value for money. A great base for exploring the sights around Datong.

You have to stay here! Everything is perfect. Hotel is lovely. Staff are so welcoming and helpful. We had a problem and one staff member had excellent English and could solve our problem. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Thank you again, I highly recommend your hotel.

It feels like an old state-owned hotel. The rooms are too average, especially the bathroom. The highlight is the lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Whether it is cakes, dumplings or vegetable soup, the blind spots are very amazing and have the level of a master. In comparison, the breakfast has a wide variety but the taste is average. Didn't expect this very niche and grande hotel in a city that many non-Chinese traveller might have not ever heard before. The room is huge, clean, modern yet classy. The breakfast area is the champion, with pools surrounding the dining area, very good spot for taking social media contents. Location is very easy to find, right in the main road that connects to the old town of Datong. Parking spot is widely available in the basement.

I have stayed in so many hotels, both cheap and expensive, but I have never encountered a leaking water pipe in the room. The water supply was cut off in the middle of taking a shower. It was speechless. Although the staff actively solved the problem every time, Weidu is considered a mid-to-high-end hotel in Datong. Why is there so many problems with the infrastructure? But to be honest, the hotel bedding is very comfortable and the knife-cut noodles for breakfast are delicious. But can the room facilities be maintained?
