The original budget room we booked that had no window had an overpowering and disgusting smell of cigarette smoke. I asked if we could move to a different budget room as I have a 4 year old child and this would not be healthy for her. The only offer I got was to upgrade my room. As I could not stay in that room with my child I had to upgrade. Some of the staff were friendly and some were very unpleasant. The location was great but the staff and the rooms could be much improved.

This is a pretty basic hotel, as one would expect for the price. But the location is very decent, not far at all from the old city, facing the river, and surrounded by bbq restaurants.
Check in was pretty easy, which is not always a given when you're a foreigner staying at a cheap hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I have to mark it down for the large stain on the bedroom wall, however. And the windows are very thin. My room backed on to a square with people playing games and chatting from the early hours of the morning, and there was no relief from the sound.
My bathroom also had an odd corridor to nowhere. Not a complaint, just a little odd!

The hotel room was surprisingly spacious. The bed was hard but it was the first time i slept really nice. Outside of the window men are playing cards. Acrossp the street is a nice park and walking towards the old city there are so many restaurants.

We were traveling during the May Day holiday and couldn't find a room. Seeing that other public-private housing options were unsuitable, we booked this place. It was incredibly noisy. The window of our room faced the hallway, which had wooden floors and no carpet. The same went for the room, making the noise incredibly loud. Whether talking or walking, there wasn't any sense of a wall separating us; it felt like someone was walking past with the door open. The noise was even louder because the room was so small. It was quite cold on May Day, and the air conditioning was noisy. I didn't want to turn it on, and I asked for extra beds and quilts, but they didn't have any. The tatami room's Simmons mattress was probably a palm-mat type, which was hard and didn't provide much warmth. The bathroom was infested with bugs (woodlice, also known as watermelon bugs), and the toothbrush was rudimentary and poor quality. Brushing my teeth hurt. The bathroom was cleaned acceptable, but the sink drain was broken. One of the hangers in the room was broken, too. The small table looked grimy. The floor and door were okay. Would I stay here again for the first time? Definitely not. Would you recommend? Definitely not.

Good location, despite not having breakfast or a partition for the bathroom shower. I had booked a non-smoking room, but it ended up being a room with cigarette smoke on the towels and in the room in general.
