Very spacious and clean room! The view from the window is breathtaking! It has several tables which is super convenient for working online 😁 also is right next to a shopping mall and several convenient stores and food places. It's also located less than 5min away from an entrance to the ancient city wall which is super convenient for sightseeing! Something to note though is the smell to cigarrete in the room but well, you get use to it after the first night.

Huge room and great location to explore Datong and surroundings. It’s right on top of a mall, where you can also find good and cheap restaurants. The host was quick to solve a noisy alarm that kept ringing. Some maintenance might be needed: the kettle was full of paint so couldn’t be used, everything smelt of cigarettes, even though we requested a extra cleaning for that.

We had an amazing stay! The host helped us to book tickets and a taxi to go to yungang grottoes and the hanging temple. We had a wonderful time and, despite the language barrier, we were able to communicate perfectly. We felt very welcomed and can only recommend to western tourists. Location is perfect, 5 minutes walk to the old town and the room is nice for the price. Cheers.

After all, it's a B&B, so I can't ask for so much. Datong hotels are incredibly expensive during the summer, at least 300 or more. The bath towels here are all disposable, and there's no soap. They asked me to turn on the projector, but they told me to watch TV. But since my schedule was really full, I didn't ask for so much. If you can accept it, you can book it. There's a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient.

I spent nearly a week in Shanxi, and the most expensive place I stayed was also the worst experience. The photos looked okay, and the room was quite large, but upon moving in, nearly everything was terrible. The towels were unbelievably old, the bed was as hard as sleeping on a wooden board, the disposable slippers were as thin as paper, and there was all sorts of clutter, including old, unfinished furniture, empty flower pots, and other debris. This B&B truly felt like staying in someone else's home. It's hard to describe.

During my three-day, two-night stay, the host came across as a quiet, uncommunicative person, answering questions only partially. (I had to keep asking for my room number and password, and I asked about parking, but he was vague. Perhaps that's just the way he is; he wasn't particularly welcoming.) The cleanliness of the room was difficult to describe: there were hairs under the sofa, and the cushions were noticeably stained and had a distinct odor. There was a blood stain on the pillow in the closet. There was only one bath towel, and it was completely black (it looked like it hadn't been washed properly). There were two pairs of disposable slippers, so thin they were paper-thin and unwearable. I wore a pair of yellow slippers after showering, and they were soaked. I nearly slipped three times, only to be saved by grabbing nearby objects. The washbasin cabinet contained half-used and empty bottles of shampoo and shower gel, as well as a bottle of cat and dog skin cleanser. The privacy film on the bathroom window was half-missing. Only half a roll of toilet paper remained. One of the bedside lamps was broken (no bulb). The host addressed the issue: I contacted the host the night I checked in. The next day, they changed my slippers, cleaned up the hair under the sofa cushions, and put out another roll of toilet paper and two disposable bath towels. The rest of the issues remained the same. They were basically accommodating to my every request, but indifferent to my every request. Check-out: They sent me a WeChat message around 7:40 AM on the third day to confirm my check-out time. This was much more proactive than the "Buddhist" approach of asking for my room number and password on my first day. Of course, this was also to ensure that subsequent guests would be informed of the room's status sooner, which I understand. Since I had a child with me, who is fickle and might return to the room mid-stay, I waited until after 11 AM to proactively inform the host that the room was ready for check-out. In summary: August is the peak summer travel season, and food and drink in Datong aren't expensive, but room rates are skyrocketing. We understand that market forces drive price trends, but while raising prices, isn't it also essential to ensure basic cleanliness for guests? I don't know how future guests will view this room, but my review is honest. I hope this will be seen by more bookings and hosts, encouraging them to be cautious when placing orders and for hosts to take this seriously.

We booked an hourly room for a temporary stay. The host was prompt and the room was clean. There were many sockets, which provided great convenience for passengers who needed to charge their batteries during transit. The room had a large window with a great view. It was a very good experience.
