Nice hotel just outside of the old city - reachable with a 5 minute didi. The staff were very professional and helpful. The room was brand new, clean and comfortable. Stay was nearly perfect with only a few minor gripes. When we asked for extra pillows we were told there were none available, the gym was a little bit small, but the 24 hour gym opening time was excellent. The western food at the breakfast buffet seemed like it had bit sitting out for a while and wasn't super fresh. However, the Chinese food was excellent and the staff were happy to make some vegetarian fried rice for us to suit our dietary needs. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Datong. The staff were so helpful and kind.

Very new and stylish hotel with well designed and comfortable rooms! There’s also a good breakfast spread 🙂 slightly away from the old city but just a quick Didi ride away.

I stayed in this hotel shortly after it opened in 24 years, and I had a good impression. This time, the experience has plummeted. The price has not dropped. The disposable items in the room are lower-end than before, and the breakfast is of low quality and taste. The so-called "ancient city view" room is too far-fetched. There are some broken roofs under the window, and you can see the ancient city wall in the distance. The room is not soundproof. In the middle of the night, clear voices came from the corridor and the next room, disturbing people's sleep. During the off-season, the hotel should arrange guests to check in at a certain distance. Knowing that many guests have reported the problem of no sound insulation, the guests are gathered together. The front desk service is cold and lacks professionalism.

The hotel is conveniently located and the rooms are clean and tidy. Annie Ni, the front office manager, is a beautiful and friendly girl who promptly solved my small confusion about check-in. Overall, it is a hotel worth staying in again and will make you feel at home.

Four Points by Sheraton is relatively close to the ancient city and is also owned by Marriott. I think it should be OK. The only thing I'm worried about is that it will have a smell since it has just been renovated. But when I got here, the worry about the smell of decoration was no longer the most important thing... I stayed for 3 nights in a row, and the check-in in the afternoon was quite smooth. I booked a smoking room. There was a smell of decoration when I entered the room, but I thought I could open the window and ventilate it, so I could make do with it. However, I saw 3M earplugs at the head of the bed, and I thought it would be very noisy if they were broken. The problem came at night. I lived on the 12th floor, and the compressor in the room made a loud noise before 9 o'clock. Even after all the power supplies in the room were turned off, the noise was still very loud. I called the engineering department, and they said there were many compressors upstairs that provided ventilation and heating for the staff dormitories on the roof. There was nothing we could do! But you can change rooms, fortunately the engineer understands the situation. At 10 o'clock in the evening, I moved to the 11th floor downstairs. I could see the ancient city outside the window, but I could clearly hear the passing big cars. However, I could receive the signal because it was not the long-term roar of the compressor. I slept soundly for the first night, but on the second night, there were people living upstairs and next door, and the noises of people taking a shower and flushing the toilet upstairs were just as loud as in my room. I could hear everything clearly while my neighbor was watching TV and chatting on the phone... I got up in the morning and reported the situation to the front desk. They were very nice and said that if they would change the room, I would stay for one more day and then leave, so there was no need to bother. I asked the front desk if I could extend the check-out time to 2 o'clock tomorrow? They said yes and remade the room card. On the third night, the noise upstairs was the same as yesterday, but fortunately it stopped at 12 o'clock. When I went downstairs to have breakfast on the morning of check-out, I confirmed with the front desk again that I would check out at 2pm. As a result, I received a call from the housekeeping department at 11:40am asking whether I wanted to check out or extend my stay? I said I had already checked out temporarily, and the reply was that I knew. Do you know why I'm calling to ask this? Also, at 9 and 10 o'clock that day, because of the Hebei earthquake, there were aftershocks here, and the hotel staff all ran downstairs, and no one notified the guests that they might be in danger! OK, I was leaving from the hotel at 1 o'clock anyway, so I called a car and asked the hotel concierge to help me put the luggage in the car. The hotel concierge was a boy, and he was very bad. He didn't even bother to load the luggage in the car and asked the driver to do it. What's the use of you? In short, the experience of living here is very poor, both in hardware and software

The room is clean and big. The water for shower is very sufficient. The service is very considerate. The breakfast is also quite rich. The underground parking garage is spacious and convenient. The hotel is surrounded by a commercial street near the residential area, which is very convenient for eating and shopping.

Standard Sheraton style, reasonable space layout, the king-size bed room with a view is sunny and warm in the afternoon, and you can see the ancient city tower. The location is very close to Fahua Temple and Nine Dragon Wall, and you can walk there. Rich breakfast. Because of the return high-speed rail time, we also delayed check-out to 2:30, which is very considerate 💗!
