I absolutely recommend that place for many reasons, and especially because of the lovely staff. Awesome!!

I was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

Hotel is traditional Chinese style with many lantern and decorations. Room is air-conditioning damage and many hair in bathroom. Should be cleaned carefully.

The location is very convenient, right in the ancient city, parking is also convenient, there is a patio on the second floor, very unique, the room is big enough. The boss also gave me a fruit plate and a set of small tea sets. The next day, the aunt at the front desk wanted to give it to me, but I said it had already been given to me. It was so warm. I recommend staying in this hotel when you come to Datong Ancient City!

The room was very beautiful, the landlady was very welcoming and gave us some fruit and a small gift when we left.

The room is newly decorated and the environment is clean. It is located near the north gate of the ancient city, quiet and comfortable.

According to the reviews, it is underground, but it is on the second floor. Except that the stairs are narrow and there is no elevator, which makes it a bit difficult to carry luggage, everything else is ok. It is relatively quiet and convenient for travel.

The interior of the house is very unique, Chinese style, and has an open-air courtyard. The environment is very good and it is very quiet at night. The mother and daughter who received us were very enthusiastic and their service attitude was really good. It was very comfortable to stay here for two days. I will stay here again next time I come to Datong!

This hotel really opened my eyes and I was extremely disappointed. The room that cost almost 400 yuan turned out to be in the underground room. The room smelled very musty. I didn’t feel that it had a ventilation function. The network was extremely poor. There was basically no signal for 4G mobile phones. I scan the QR code to log in to the WiFi, but there is no signal and I can't get in. Fortunately, I have a 5G phone. I turned on the hotspot and let my family connect to my phone and then scanned the QR code to log in to the hotel WiFi. I can only swipe WeChat, and the ** is very laggy. The game is It was basically impossible to play, and it got stuck once every 3 seconds. Another strange thing was that the air conditioner in the room did not respond when turned on. In the middle of the night, I asked the waiter and said that the host machine might be turned off in another room. If that didn't work, I could bring a small air conditioner over. I was very sleepy after drinking. I didn't let him take it, and I couldn't sleep well after a hot night. Another weird thing is the TV. I want to watch normal TV, but I have to try it for 5 minutes and then recharge as a member. This really makes me curse, and then the room is poorly soundproofed. You can hear people walking and talking, the curtains are poor in blocking light, and there is a large glass window that illuminates the room from outside lights in the middle of the night. There is no leaking pipe on the tea table, and the water pours directly onto the floor. The room phone is not connected. There are no instructions for use. I don’t know how to call the front desk. There is no hair dryer on my mobile phone and I need to call the waiter to deliver it. There is no place to put body wash and shampoo in the bathroom, so it can only be placed under the glass wall next to it. All in all, this is a hotel that leaves me speechless. I advise everyone to be cautious.

Living in a basement in Datong for more than 700 yuan is beyond my imagination. I have never thought that a hotel room can be located in a basement. Based on this, I wonder how Ctrip's score of 4.8 comes from! The inn is located at the foot of the north gate of the ancient city. It is relatively remote, far from the center of the ancient city, and far from the Daiwangfu. The environment is cramped and small, and the sanitary conditions are worrying. The service staff seem to be family members, not professional hotel service staff, so It’s not professional, although the attitude is smiling, and I tell you with a smile, if you want to live on the first floor, you need to add more money, and you need to add more than 100 for a room. We booked two rooms, even though the two upstairs are vacant. Staying in a regular hotel, Ctrip's membership level is upgraded for free, which is useless here! My husband couldn't adapt to the temperature difference here and caught a cold. He had a little fever and didn't even have a thermometer! We ended up spending the night here in the basement and were out at 7am! There are many strange arrangements in the inn, such as no luggage rack for luggage, but a useless boss chair, and a row of sales items on the narrow table, flashy!
