The hotel is very photogenic, I still like it very much. The hotel is located in the ancient city, which is very convenient. It is very lively at night, but the small courtyard is very quiet, which is very nice. The weather in Datong is really great. I have a very good impression. I will definitely come back if I have the opportunity.

Arrived at the hotel and greeted by friendly staffs. The room is big and comfortable. Staff readily offered to help me with transport to Yungang grottos. And thanks to them, I also managed to get transport and ticket to the Hanging Temple. Breakfast is fantastic too (although it was the same noodle for 2 days 😄). The hotel is also conveniently located at the foot of the ancient wall north gate, and I can enjoy myself quite late into the night without worry for safety. After 3 nights stay, the staff sent me off with a big smile. Overall, my stay in Datong is fantastic. Thank you ☺️

The rooms are all available, clean and tidy, very suitable for our tenants who like to go out and like to ”lightly install”, and the smart home design is even more popular. It is not like the noise in the south of the city. It is definitely comfortable and satisfying here. The service of the girl at the front desk is in place. She can think of the unexpected for you. Even if you get up early and go out on the road, you will help prepare breakfast in advance and eat on the road. Although the breakfast is not as rich as the hotel, it is clean and hygienic, and it is definitely the same. The boss is more enthusiastic and gentle, not only personally pick up the station, but also help recommend delicious and fun ones, to avoid tourists entering the pit 👍 When checking out, the boss also sent Shanxi special millet and vinegar, reminding to bring all items ❤️ Come to Datong again, there is no doubt that you will choose to live in the house, the same resting place as home 😊

The room is very clean, the staff is very enthusiastic, the courtyard is clean and quiet, it is very far from Huayan Temple by a road, and it is very quiet to sleep at night. The check-in experience was poor. The room fee of 1,400 yuan was not worth it. The soundproofing of the room was very poor. I could hear the conversation and showering next door very clearly. I reported it to the front desk and nothing happened. I didn't get a good sleep for half the night. The toilet in the bathroom was not clean and there were residues. There are actually two bottles of shower gel and a bottle of conditioner in the bathroom. I left the water in the shower for 20 minutes in the morning but there was still no hot water. I had to tell the front desk before they gave me hot water! The breakfast was really not delicious and I couldn’t eat it! ! !

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while exploring Datong and surrounding attractions. The location was perfect for us - nestled between both major train stations, a short walk to the old city, and conveniently very close to the bus station to the Hanging Monastry. The staff were very polite and helpful, some could speak some English. We were given various complimentary gifts and desserts during our stay. We loved the free tea (of various varieties) in the lobby! The room was a little old but clean, comfortable and quiet. I guess the only complaint is the elevator - they only have two but about 14 floors and it was utter chaos trying to move about in the morning when everyone wants to check out. Small issue though.

Close to the ancient wall and temples. Excellent location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Must try the Breakfast buffet and the in house restaurant. I’m coming back.

When we arrived we were given the wrong room in B tower with single beds, we had to go back downstairs and show the booking again to request the correct double room in A tower. The rooms and amenities are old, and the fridge is broken. I called reception who told me to bring any items I want to cool down to the reception and use their fridge, when I asked if we can swap the broken fridge for a working fridge, they said all of the fridges are like this. They won't admit the fridges are all broken, but all of the fridges in the hotel are warm and won't make your food / beverages cold. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade, and they need to replace the fridges.

We spent two wonderful nights at Yungang Hotel in Datong. First of all, our deepest gratitude to Yang wen yuan - 杨文元. When booking from Europe, we did not realise correctly the time required to get to the caves and to the hanging monastery (a must view when in Datong). We thought that by using public transport we could manage to do both in a short period of time. So wrong! We arrived and Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 reassured us and in less than 30 minutes he was able to help and book for us a private car for the next day. He made our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot from both of us if you are reading ! Plus, this hotel is wonderful : super new, technological and the staff is super kind (from the ones in the lobby to the ones in the restaurant/cafeteria). Breakfast is amazing. You can have everything, freshly made for you.
