Arrived at the hotel and greeted by friendly staffs. The room is big and comfortable. Staff readily offered to help me with transport to Yungang grottos. And thanks to them, I also managed to get transport and ticket to the Hanging Temple. Breakfast is fantastic too (although it was the same noodle for 2 days 😄). The hotel is also conveniently located at the foot of the ancient wall north gate, and I can enjoy myself quite late into the night without worry for safety. After 3 nights stay, the staff sent me off with a big smile. Overall, my stay in Datong is fantastic. Thank you ☺️

The room is very clean, the staff is very enthusiastic, the courtyard is clean and quiet, it is very far from Huayan Temple by a road, and it is very quiet to sleep at night. The pick-up station is very considerate, and the breakfast is very rich. This is the most satisfactory living experience in this trip. The children like the small fish in the yard very much. Highly recommended

The inn is full of birdsong and flowers. It is opposite the Huayan Temple and the transportation in the ancient city is very convenient. The boss and the boss lady are very welcoming. They took the initiative to upgrade my room after staying for four days. There is a large desk and tea table in the patio, a rockery pond, goldfish and turtles, a parrot named Xiaohui, a squirrel and many birds. I hope Xiaohui can chat with me next time I come, hahahaha.

The room is clean and tidy, the toiletries are all from Herborist, the owner is very particular, the breakfast is also very comfortable, and a small gift was given when checking out. I will book this hotel again next time I have the chance!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while exploring Datong and surrounding attractions. The location was perfect for us - nestled between both major train stations, a short walk to the old city, and conveniently very close to the bus station to the Hanging Monastry. The staff were very polite and helpful, some could speak some English. We were given various complimentary gifts and desserts during our stay. We loved the free tea (of various varieties) in the lobby! The room was a little old but clean, comfortable and quiet. I guess the only complaint is the elevator - they only have two but about 14 floors and it was utter chaos trying to move about in the morning when everyone wants to check out. Small issue though.

When we arrived we were given the wrong room in B tower with single beds, we had to go back downstairs and show the booking again to request the correct double room in A tower. The rooms and amenities are old, and the fridge is broken. I called reception who told me to bring any items I want to cool down to the reception and use their fridge, when I asked if we can swap the broken fridge for a working fridge, they said all of the fridges are like this. They won't admit the fridges are all broken, but all of the fridges in the hotel are warm and won't make your food / beverages cold. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade, and they need to replace the fridges.

As this was my first time traveling alone, choosing a hotel was a difficult problem, but staying at Dadan Hotel dispelled my previous concerns. The service of the front desk lady was very warm and warm, with an inexplicable sense of intimacy. First of all, the Dadan Hotel room is very quiet, with a community outside the window, away from the hustle and bustle. The location is accessible in all directions and is easy to find. It is very convenient to travel by taxi or bus. The bus station is about 100 meters away, and online taxis can be there in a few minutes. It takes less than 20 minutes to walk to Yongtai South Gate, the south gate of the ancient city. Taking a taxi is the starting price. It is within walking distance to Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple. Buses can reach Yungang Grottoes, Datong Museum, art galleries, etc. If you don’t have too high requirements for breakfast, you can walk 50 meters to Mr. Li. All in all, the experience was very good and I will come again next time.

We spent two wonderful nights at Yungang Hotel in Datong. First of all, our deepest gratitude to Yang wen yuan - 杨文元. When booking from Europe, we did not realise correctly the time required to get to the caves and to the hanging monastery (a must view when in Datong). We thought that by using public transport we could manage to do both in a short period of time. So wrong! We arrived and Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 reassured us and in less than 30 minutes he was able to help and book for us a private car for the next day. He made our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot from both of us if you are reading ! Plus, this hotel is wonderful : super new, technological and the staff is super kind (from the ones in the lobby to the ones in the restaurant/cafeteria). Breakfast is amazing. You can have everything, freshly made for you.

The hotel is really good and convenient. It's in a walking distance from the Ancient City and Walls, there are several small shops and local food stalls around it. The breakfast is completely Chinese style, but it's good. The gym is very small, in fact, not even a separate room, just very few machines, but it was not that important for us. Personnel are very helpful. Everyone did their best to make our stay comfortable. Especially, the manager Kristina - she is very kind, helpful, assisted us a lot, with some practical things and some advice, when it was necessary. Definitely, will stay here another time.
