Argus Apartments Darwin
4.5/555 Reviews
We spent 6 nights here in a 2 bedroom apartment. We decided it was better value to choose this than the 1 bedroom apartment with a view. Room to move was better than a view. The apartment was huge, had a full kitchen and laundry and great inclusions. There was undercover parking onsite for a modest daily fee. A well equipped gym which meant I didn't have to pay to go to a commercial one nearby. The staff were helpful and friendly our apartment and complex was clean and the location meant we could easily walk to the Stokes Wharf and into the CBD. Was great that we even had a free NT newspaper every morning. Would happily stay here again.

Hotel location is good, service is good, but the equipment is outdated, the elevator tastes great There are ants in the room
Darwin Poinciana Inn
3.5/56 Reviews
This place is now called Poinciana Inn, same location. I was arriving after 1am from the airport as many Darwin flights do. I called twice to ask how to get access to my room, didn't get a callback until some time later, the person on the phone said I'd been sent an email days earlier but I checked and I never received it, not even in my spam email, but after the 3rd phone call I sorted out how to access my room after hours. The room itself is small, there's marks on the walls, not much more than a TV and kettle and fridge in the room itself, at least the aircon worked, I don't know how they can justify $123 a night with such a low maintained place, if I'd known it was this badly kept I would've gone to a backpackers hostel instead. It's definitely overpriced for what you get. The bed was comfortable, the pool was lovely, the location is great, that's about it. The ensuite is small, there's maybe 4 powerpoints in the whole place for charging a phone and other things and 2 of those were used by the TV and kettle, and while I was recovering from arriving at 2am I got a knock on my door that same morning from someone wanting to check the maintenance my air conditioning unit. There has to be better places in Darwin CBD than this. Maybe go for Airbnb next time, finding anything under $150 a night is almost impossible unless you're 15 to 30 minutes out of the city.
Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront

Perfect location with all the restaurants, Stokes wharf, gardens at your doorstep. Reception staff excellent. Curves for breakfast, book when you arrive $20 pp only, as opposed to $38pp if you just front. Ubers and taxis dead easy. Easy walk via sky Bridge to city.
Youth Shack Backpackers Darwin
3.6/59 Reviews
I've been staying at Youthshack for the past week and had an incredible time! The staff have been super friendly and helpful, with heaps of recommendations for food and things to do. The hostel itself is great! Room was lovely, great facilities and one of the best kitchens I've seen in a hostel in Australia. Went to the Karaoke last night and Peter (the Irish lad behind the bar) was an absolute hoot! Had a great time and the rest of the bar staff joined us at The Lost Arc after they clocked off. Was great banter all round! Big shout out to Debs as well, great chats at reception and you can see she really cares about the place. There was vibe, it was schmick, the only hostel I've seen that hasn't appeared to drop the ball during COVID. Unreal! Overall, if you're coming to Darwin STAY HERE!
Darwin Esplanade Central Official
3.9/510 Reviews
This was the cheapest accommodation we could find in Darwin for a CBD location for 8 days. What a bargain!! On the Esplanade with all the other top class hotels, close to Shenanigans pub, Coles, Bicentennial Park, Peel Street with all its restaurants, shops etc. And that’s not all!! The room was older but was beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, had everything that opens & shuts- washing machine, drier, dishwasher, iron, hairdryer, iron but no board, really comfy lounge, all you need for any length of time in Darwin. The air conditioning was excellent - just on and off, no fiddling, no dials, worked perfectly! This is so so important in the extreme Darwin climate! Reception daytime staff were excellent and the security guards on duty after hours leave a bit to be desired. They do their best but are quite inept. On the side we were on, we overlooked the youth hostel and Shenanigans Pub which were noisy till the curfew 10.00 pm so we couldn’t use the veranda, however, we didn’t hear anything when the door was closed. If we visit Darwin again, this would be our first choice!
