The hotel location is excellent and very convenient. We initially thought we’d have to pull our luggage a long way, but we were pleasantly surprised that didi (China’s taxi service) could stop right in front of the hotel! There are plenty of food options nearby, all within walking distance. I like the most is nearby north gate there got alot hotpot choice if u lazy to walk didi also within 2dollar One of the hotel’s friendly (and handsome!) staff even helped us with our luggage, and the check-in process was super quick — we were able to check in immediately. The room was just right and even had a heater, which made our stay very comfortable. For this price, getting such a cozy hotel room is definitely a great choice, especially for foreigners looking to stay near Dali Ancient Town.

It is exactly looks like the picture they posted on trip.com. the room is spacious enough for 3 of us. The toilet is also spacious enough. It is located near the ancient town. The hotel owner/manager is so communicative and kind and really helpful in helping us finding the location. The owner was also very accomodative because we have an urgency that we need to leave earlier and go back to our town. The room is clean, the ambience is nice, overall it was a nice stay.

We absolutely loved this hotel in the center of Dali Ancient City! We chatted with the hotel employees for a long time, and they taught us about Dali culture and the meaning behind Dali’s traditional clothing. We were allowed to try on the clothing, and they spent over a half an hour helping us take pictures. The rooms are incredibly clean, and our bed even had a heater. 10/10 experience, we will definitely stay here next time we visit Dali!

We had an amazing experience during our 4 night stay in the Xianlai inn (idle inn) in Dali. We were hosted by a wonderful couple that went above and beyond typical hotel hospitality. They met all our requests ( eg fixing our showering hose when the water output was too low, helping to extend our stay for 2 more night when our friend experienced health issues etc). We were a group of 5 travellers and they tried their best to provide the largest available rooms for us during our extension. They also gave very good food recommendations (these restaurants were clean and hygienic. The staff were nice and the food was delicious) A friend of ours injured (tipsy) himself from a fall in the hotel room late into the night. We informed them and they immediately helped us get taxi to the hospital and the husband even travelled to the hospital to help with us with communications with the local medical staff. When our friend came back to the hotel the wife even provided homemade food for him as he had no appetite. Would highly recommend this inn to all visitors to dali for a comfortable and wonderful stay. You can also get them to order bus shuttle services for u to other locations like lijiang and shangri la Other info: (bed is comfortable, rooms were spacious and clean, plenty of drinking water, )

great room. slept very well. yummy yunnan coffee and breakfast made by Anan, lovely host and tour guide who speaks english. loved the family who lives there and their cat and neighbors's cat. was able to stretch and do some yoga poses and the rooftop terrace has a great view of dali, the mtns and you can also get a glimpse of lake. will come back

Highly recommended. The B&B is family-run. The owner and his wife were very welcoming and helpful, answering all my questions. They were very down-to-earth and even gave me a box of flower cakes before leaving, which really made me feel the warmth and joy of the B&B. Although the B&B is small, it has everything you need and is conveniently located in a quiet area amidst the bustle. The projection was excellent. Possible improvements: The bedding was a bit soft and lacked support.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Even before our arrival, the staff—especially 小慧and another kind gentleman whose name we didn’t catch—were incredibly helpful and considerate. They kept checking in and even sent us the location multiple times to ensure we wouldn’t get lost. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with traditional Chinese elements that create a warm, elegant atmosphere—perfect for photos! We were especially impressed by the attentiveness of the staff. Although we initially missed the hotel’s tea session, they kindly offered us new tickets so we could still enjoy the experience. Truly excellent service. Highly recommended!

Loved everything about the hotel, except that everyone in the room can literally see what’s happening in the bathroom because it’s open plan 😅 I guess some people like that. The pool was cold and unusable, would be nice if it was heated. Apart from that, the staff were amazing to try and help with all my inquiries and crazy questions. They tried to help the best they could, even after I checked out and left DaLi. I would come back for the lovely staff. The beds were comfortable and all in room amenities were available as you would a 5 star hotel. Keep all your staff as they are, everyone was lovely in trying to help

We had a lovely stay here. Everything was great, except the toilet couldn’t flush paper (which is common in the ancient city area, so be prepared!). The host was super friendly and kind—cooked us mi xian for breakfast! Her responses and replies was quick and responsive. We had to catch a train early last day, she prepared breakfast in advance for us. Note: There’s no lift in the building but the host helped carry our luggage. A slow 8-minute walk to the ancient city, perfect for unhurried exploring!) Overall, a charming stay with warm hospitality—just mind the toilet rules!

Excellent location, beautiful rooms, friendly reception and prompt service. Breakfast vouchers received at check-in to be had at nearby noodle shop. Front desk was very helpful
