So.....after reading some of the reviews on here they would have you believe this is just a step up from Pontins. I was absolutely prepared for anything when we set off and even had a slight sinking feeling. I'd originally booked for one night with breakfast included because we had to come to the area for separate reason. I'd then decided to book an extra night and booked that night extremely last minute. I rang the hotel, giving them less than 24hrs, to see if it was possible. The guy that answered was extremely helpful and explained it wouldn't be a problem to pay for the extra night and on check-in it would be tagged as one booking. On arrival the receptionist couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and we checked in with absolutely no issue at all. The room was lovely, very well kept, extremely clean and I honestly couldn't find ANYTHING to complain about. Because that evening was very last minute we hadn't made any dinner plans so popped to the hotel restaurant for food. We were greeted by the ”infamous” Muhammad and his team and were seated straight away. Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and again absolutely couldn't fault the food, the decor or the service, everything and everyone was beyond spot on. The following day we popped and used the pool facilities and again, changing rooms were clean and staff were extremely polite and helpful. My ONLY criticism (this is just MY personal preference) the temperature of the pool could have been notched up a couple of degrees, it was a wee bit chilly. We went out to a local restaurant that evening and on returning we decided to grab a coffee from the bar to take to our room. Again we were served by Muhammad who was as polite and helpful as usual and remembered us from the previous evening which was lovely. We had booked breakfast for our last morning and again with previous reviews in the back of my mind I was a bit dubious. I'll say this, if you cant find anything to feed yourself or your children at breakfast then there's something wrong with you and not the hotel. You name it and it was there, fresh fruit, pastries, cooked food, cereal, yogurt, choice of breads including bagels, choice of 4 juices...... The hot food was fresh and didn't taste like it was suffering from heat exhaustion from being sat there for hours. Again the staff were very friendly, especially the young lad who seated us (I THINK his name was Ellis, im really sorry if I've got that wrong). Checkout was fast and again we were greeted with a friendly face. We had a lovely couples weekend (doesn't happen often with an 8 year old) and that's entirely down to the hard work ALL the staff put in, not once did we feel awkward or too much trouble. We liked it so much we're planning a second stay in August for 2 nights and bringing our son for his birthday to Lego land. I'm not sure where the other reviewers stayed but it certainly wasn't the hotel we've just left and I'm sure our stay wasn't some sort

This place is trying to be everything; and it is missing the mark. Had to check ourselves in, which didn't phase us as we are quite tech savvy. But we had booked as a Legoland package so we found someone to ask for the goody bag and the lady looked at us like we were inconveniencing her. Asked same lady about food and was told we would need to book as it gets busy - booked for 6pm. Went to the local swim park - came back (starving 5 year old in tow) only to be told there was no reservation for us. Luckily the lovely lady on the door managed to find us somewhere. Kind of wish she hadn't bothered. Food wasn't great - husband actually wouldn't eat his main. Took ages to come. Becky (I think that was her name - short bob, brown hair) was the only thing that stopped us making a proper complaint. She was brilliant, despite being rushed off her feet!! Got to the room - only one toilet roll, not even full. Used it - went to ring reception for more, no phone. There was a QR code to scan to start a chat with the reception team. Very long winded. Did it - heard nothing back. Next day put the ”Come in” sign on the door hoping they would replenish - they didn't. Breakfast was CHAOS. All crammed into a small area - absolutely no flow at all. Bread ran out twice - guests had to ask for it to be replenished. Glasses for juice were still hot from coming out of the dish washer. The food was decent - much better than the evening meal we had. If you are looking for a basic stay, this will be adequate. Comfy bed. Clean(ish - there was a boot mark on the shower floor) But customer service (apart from Becky) was non-existent. Gym. Hotel. Sports bar....... doing a lot, but doing none of them particularly well.

Hotel accommodation was absolutely fine. Parking was a fiasco. The website explains that the hotel ”provide(s) a ticket machine located within the hotel which covers from 6pm until 9am the next day which is free for our guests”. When I arrived at approx 7pm, I checked in my vehicle using the hotel machine. When I checked out from the hotel at noon the next day, I couldn't work out how to pay for the period from when the free parking stopped to the time I was leaving, I.E. 9am-12pm. I found a member of hotel staff to ask how I could pay for the extra hours. Their response was to ask ”Did you check the car back in at 9am?”, I told them that I was in bed asleep at 9am, to which they replied that I had ”probably got a ticket then”. I returned to my car to find a parking ticket attached. I intended to check out at noon, and presumed that I would pay the 3 hours difference on the parking, yet somehow I was ”checked out” of the car park at 9am by your voucher. I enquired about parking when I arrived at the hotel, and was told to take a voucher. It would have taken no extra effort for the staff member to advise me that I would need to re-check in the car at 9am. Had I known about this bizarre state of affairs, I would have simply paid for the parking in full from my time of arrival to my time of departure. The notion that I should have set an alarm to wake up in order to check my car into a car park it had never left is baffling. So my stay cost me an unexpected £50 parking ticket, and to add insult to injury I somehow got charged £6.50 for the day I left when I was attempting to use the machine to pay for my parking.
