Beware! There are a few reviews written on here about this location 5213 Oakhurst Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78411-4369 that are not accurate: This location isn’t close to a beach, and it does not have remote controlled blinds. However, it is clean and comfortable. It’s located next to an apartment complex and next to a busy highway. It was the only hotel I could find with a suite available for our timeframe, so I’m grateful for that.

The breakfast was fantastic. The cooks kept bringing items out as soon as they were empty. Cereal bar, oatmeal bar, fruit bar, pastries, toasts, made-to-order omelets and scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes and pancakes. The customer service was great, however you have to ask for your room to be cleaned. The room was lacking some good old scrubbing, but that’s why I travel with my Clorox wipes. Overall, great experience!

Evaluation: The hotel front desk is friendly with its own parking building, parking 2F can go directly to the lobby, streamlined. The room is in good sanitary conditions, the balcony can see the aircraft carrier Lexington, straight line distance 5KM, and the Denan Art Museum designed by Philip Johnson is within walking distance. Recommended to stay! Room tips: It is recommended to choose a high-rise sea view room without a balcony, which can be overlooked by the front. The rooms with balcony are all facing the sea, the location is not ideal.

I always travel with my service dog and was pleased to see this location had a ”dog area”. This area had grass well cut, however, there was trash everywhere and the doggie waste station was broken. The waste basket was on the ground and there were no waste bags in the receptacle. I always have bags with me but it's nice to know they're available should a guest forget theirs. The elevator floor linoleum was very old and dated with chips in it upon entering. The floor I was on was quite noisy all night. There was a smaller dog barking non-stop for hours. A baby crying/wailing for about 15 minutes( so loud I could hear the baby in my room), the room next to me had their TV on super loud until after 3:30 a.m. I know it was this time because my dog had to relieve himself at 3:10 a.m. The staff was the shining light here. The check in agent was friendly and very efficient. The housekeepers were all very friendly as they all said hello upon passing any of them and the check out agent was friendly. Maintenance crew were nice when I ran into them in the hallways. The staff is what kept me from giving this location all poor ratings. The location was alot further from the beach than I anticipated. Probably won't stay here again due to location and conditions described in review.

I’ve stayed here several times. Each time gets worse. This is going to be my last time. Hotel repair gets worse each time. For two people we were given one wash cloth and one towel each cause the third towel had to be used as a bath mat if we didn’t want a slick bathroom. The shower curtains have grime and mold on them but at least this time I didn’t have a poop smear on the window curtain! Fire alarm went off in the morning (and while exiting the lobby ever since the panel was still going off so that was a super unsafe feeling). Breakfast is a busy mess but I get it’s summer so going to give that a pass. However my issue is upon arrival I knew I’d have to check out a night early due to an issue that arose, could’ve just left and not told them but no I wanted to give them an option to sell the room again. I knew I would lose points that I used but I get it. Talked to who I think was a manager, she seemed kind and knowledgeable but said to double check in with desk. Every other front desk person I dealt with was incompetent. Did not understand what I was asking despite spending time explaining. Said “just tell us on the way out”. Acted like I was an inconvenience. Now I see them trying to charge me 110 more dollars on top of keeping my points?! Guess I should’ve left the room empty. I’m Titanium and Marriott all the way but after this stay I’m done with this place and the other local Marriotts have worse reviews. I advise trying another brand.
