Lovely hotel overall. Great staff Pros - lobby is beautiful - staff are helpful - room is spacious Cons - the bathroom flush kept running, which was annoying and seemingly couldnβt be fixed. However the house keeping staff / management (Ashan and Ali) tried their best to resolve and offered a positive resolution for our stay. Would stay again

Stayed for two nights. On the 9th floor which had been recently renovated! Every thing sparkling and brand new!! We were allowed an early check in but still had to sit there for nearly three hours to avoid a full day's charge ( no partial charge options) which, to me was too much to pay for three hours. Very friendly staff. Lovely live music on an evening. Still celebrating Christmas during the second week of Jan :)) Would highly recommend this hotel.

This upper-end hostel provides a good environment to meet fellow travellers. The staff were very friendly and offered me baggage storage for a few days free of charge. The bedding and bathroom are clean, with free drinks provided at the lobby. The hostel is also centrally located in Fort, with souvenir shops and the Dutch Hospital being a stone's throw away. Airport pickup provided by the hostel is slightly pricey so I would recommend visitors to use Uber/Pickme instead.

OK Folks once upon time this used to be one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. That was decades ago, this is one of the very few Sri lankan government owned hotel today. This is not so luxurious to match a five star, but a pretty good hotel which fits in well for a three star. There are glitches here and there, it's an old building, you might find the hot water not working or a broken switch, pardon that, the hotel is working very hard to fix those with the little financial resources they have. The staff of the hotel are very kind and hard working. If you request them for something, they will not hesitate to try there best to satisfy your needs. The hotel has undergone a renovation recently and working hard to maintain a good menu of food. Again people are good and hard working but with the financial resources they have, there are limitations. Overall its a good 3 star hotel with a decent menu of food and really polite people. Help them by reserving your rooms with this little place which has a big history, the more guest who visit this place, the more money they get, so they can serve you better the next time your arrive. Be kind when making your reviews, try to look through the eyes of good people here who are trying to make your stay the best ever. Let encourage more people to use thus hotel so they can soon start to cater you with five star perfection.

A great comfortable hotel with everything necessary, bed generally super. There is a workplace, the Internet is good. It was really comfortable, unexpectedly better than on the photo. Enabled early settlement. Air conditioner, fan, hot water, safe. I didn't like Β· The feeling of the strict is just, the requirement to pay in dollars (but accept cards), demanded a vaccination certificate (this January 2023, when all canceled as 2 months), on the doors of the inscription that it is impossible to bring guests. After a bunch of kind gestahouses it seemed to be too serious. The area is a little strange, lots of homeless. , but walked even at night, it was okay. Overall quiet, but if someone in the corridor starts talking then noisy, staff better behave quietly, especially in the morning

Where can I begin to start about this hotel? From the minute we walked through the door you would think you were in a 5* hotel with the level of service you receive. The room was modern and beds extremely comfortable. There were a few bits of damage but nothing we couldn't see past. The only gripe I had with the room is that because the Make up room/ Do not disturb LED light is beside the bed this lights up blue on a night and can be bothersome. A fantastic mention for our housekeeper Gihan keeping us well stocked in towels and everything tidy. The pool is well maintained and pool towels are of a very good quality. We looked in the gym and contrary to a previous review the air con works. Bar service and the range of drinks are excellent, as is the Cafe on the ground floor which has excellent cakes and is very reasonably priced. Infact we couldn't believe it. Overall we would highly recommend staying here and definitely would return if we were in Colombo again. John & Becky - Parks Travel Guide (YouTube)

Overall the hotel is excellent β¦ Front Desk Irenath is very welcoming to guest. A young man that understanding well the hospitality level to ensure guest is comfortable. The Roof Top Restaurant manager ensure that I like the meals that I order. The food quality at roof top restaurant is awesome. I love the nasi goreng & kutty roti. The Villa in Lavinia is in a beautiful old building. From the road doesn't look so great but inside is very nice. The owner Tyrone made us feel very welcome and all the staff were kind and friendly. The hotel is convenient for getting into Colombo. Many nearby buses go there. Also a nearby supermarket and several good restaurants. The part of the beach near to the hotel is not so nice but is better if you walk further down towards the big and famous Hotel Mount Lavinia. We stayed 5 nights but the hotel and the area is probably better suited to shorter stays. Room simple but adequate. Very good internet connexion. All in all, a pleasant stay.

NNipunikaI recently booked a room at this hotel for my parents, and I couldnβt be more pleased with their experience. From the moment they arrived, the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure my parents were comfortable and well taken care of. The service was truly outstanding.
The room was booked for one night and included breakfast the following morning, which my parents thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel also has a restaurant where guests can purchase extra meals at any time, which was very convenient.
The availability of a car park made their stay even more hassle-free. My parents were very satisfied with every aspect of their visit, and Iβm grateful to the hotel crew for making their stay so enjoyable.
Thank you for your exceptional service!
This review highlights the key points and expresses your gratitude towards the hotel staff.
ζζFirst of all, the hotel is historical, suitable for taking pictures, and the pool is good. Now talking about the disadvantages, the power supply in the room is very unreasonable, you need to use a large plug-in board (provided by the hotel), the bedding is too old, the bed is a bit collapsed, and it will ring when it turns over! And the most unbearable are crows and mosquitoes! Too many mosquitoes. I was awakened in the middle of the night and asked for mosquito coils at the front desk. Eating breakfast is more scary. Sitting in the house is too dim. Sitting outside and biting mosquitoes to coax the crow! Hurry up for breakfast and each person was bitten by five or six bales! Still sprayed with insect repellent! The crow fell on the back of his chair twice! Experience the worst breakfast ever! The hotel restaurant and lounge are very beautiful, it is recommended to have a drink and take a picture, not recommended if staying
The De Saram House ranks as one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, due exclusively to the awful hotel manager, Priyanka Tissev. Our family party of five had booked three rooms for one night ahead of a morning flight home and was sadly subjected to the most abhorrent customer service from the hotel manager Priyanka, who very sadly turned what is a truly special and beautiful Bawa home into an real nightmare and left our group with a scarred memory of what was otherwise a fantastic trip around the island. Having booked through ***********, we were unexpectedly informed at checkout that the hotel does not accept payment through the platform, as is typically done, nor via card payment, and would only accept cash payments. Needless to say if a hotel advertises rooms on ***********, it is unethical and inconvenient to then decline payment through the *********** website/app. The policy of cash-only payments is questionable at best, with a handwritten bill, and was not communicated by the hotel in advance. Even if this was made aware to us the evening of check-in we would have been able to take out cash to pay our bill. Due to daily international withdrawal limits, our party could not withdraw cash to pay at checkout. While we had provided full reassurance that our bill would be settled as soon as we returned home, even offering to deposit a gold bangle as a gesture of our commitment to cover the costs of the stay, Priyanka quickly escalated became nasty, offensive and condescending. A verbal altercation ensued, with downright insulting and sarcastic comments made by Priyanka. With a taxi waiting to take us to the airport, she then started to instruct the taxi driver in Sinhalese to leave the property, which would have rendered us helpless and almost certain to miss our international flight. Luckily the driver stayed out and we were able to leave the hotel having pacified Priyanka with repeated promises to pay the bill as soon as we could. Other issues included: - There is no wifi available in the upstairs rooms; wifi signal exists only in the common courtyard and downstairs accommodation. - Food (neither a restaurant, snack menu nor room service) is not available at the hotel (with the exception of a simple continental breakfast of fruits, fried eggs, toast and sausages, juice/tea/coffee. Guests are not provided any options in the breakfast menu. - The gate shuts around 11pm, and outside guests are not allowed into the property without hotel approval - Difficulty finding the hotel - there is zero signage on the street to indicate the location of the property - No fridge in the rooms to store/cool personal bottles etc - these have to be left in the kitchen refrigerator. - the property is best described as a Bed and Breakfast and not a hotel for the above reasons - the nightly rates as not cheap either - you can find a better hotel in the same area which offers much higher, refined guest hospitality at same or lower co
GGuest UserShangri-La Colombo offers a luxurious and memorable experience in the heart of Sri Lanka's capital city. The hotel's elegant decor, spacious rooms, and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean create an ambiance of indulgence. The staff's warm hospitality and attention to detail ensure a comfortable stay. With its range of dining options, including delicious local and international cuisine, Shangri-La Colombo truly caters to every palate. Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is a perfect choice for a sophisticated and enjoyable stay in Colombo.
MMuhammad Irsyad Bin ZainiI recently had the pleasure of staying at Mandarina Colombo, and overall, it was a positive experience. The hotel's location is convenient, situated in the heart of Colombo, making it easy to explore the city's attractions.
The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. The hotel amenities, including the on-site restaurant and fitness centre, added to the overall convenience of my stay.
One highlight was the impressive view from my room, overlooking the cityscape. It added a pleasant touch to the overall ambience of the hotel. While the decor might not be the most modern, it exuded a classic charm that complemented the overall atmosphere.
The complimentary breakfast offered a good variety of options, catering to different tastes. The culinary offerings were satisfying, providing a decent start to the day.
However, it's worth noting that some areas of the hotel might benefit from a bit of updating, as certain furnishings showed signs of wear. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection could be inconsistent at times.
In conclusion, Mandarina Colombo offers a comfortable and convenient stay with friendly staff and decent amenities. It may not be the most luxurious option in Colombo, but it provides good value for those looking for well-located and welcoming accommodation.
XXiaowen31The staffs in hotel are extremely thoughtful and nice. The breakfast is fantastic. You can enjoy mupltile country food here. The room is very clean. The hotel is near galla face beach. very beautiful view.
WWingFacilities: The location is very good. There is an infinity pool on the top floor with a good view. The room is also good and very comfortable.
Health: pretty good
Environment: Very comfortable
Service: The receptionist at the hotel front desk, the guy who picked up and dropped off the luggage, and the guy who served the pool were all very good. Everyone is very nice, except for a lobby manager and a lady, who looked at the name tag and it seems she is called Mithma, but she is not very friendly. We have a friend who lives in another hotel who came to Sofia to wait for us to have dinner together. This lady is very pushy. We always wanted to chase our friend away; when we were leaving the store, the lady was very pushy and asked us to give her a good review. Another point is that they charge extra for two people to stay in the hotel, even if we booked a double room. We only ask for this when checking out. This is not good at all
BBeeshman BahiradanGreat location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean and stylish. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.
JJUNDAThe open-air swimming pool on the roof is in good condition, breakfast is average, there are not many choices. On the roadside, it is very convenient to go out to work, but the holiday is not suitable.
GGuest UserDined here yesterday at their restaurant, opted for Chinese - fried rice, deviled pork, Thai pork, batter fish and hot mushrooms. The food was great , service, very attentive - the staff made us feel special. Definitely value for money. Highly recommended!
