Hotel Casa Colonia

Lovely gem of a hotel located very close to Cologne Cathedral, some major museums and restaurants. The train station is also quite accessible. Very clean and quiet. Staff members are helpful and just want you to enjoy your stay. Lovely breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a lovely, small hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is 4 mins walk from the main train station. To get there you need to exit the train station near Mcdonalds (if you exit on the Cathedral side you are on the wrong side). Walk across the square to a zebra crossing and you will see Johanestrasse. Walk down this road past the Marriot and you will see the hotel straight ahead. To enter the hotel you check in online and they send you digital instructions to open the door with your phone. I was a bit worried about this but it worked perfectly and our room keys were in an envelope for us at reception. Our room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable with a large bathroom with a great shower. The room had air conditioning which was great. Breakfast was a buffet and there was plenty to choose from and the lady serving remembered to get me gluten free toast as soon as she saw me everyday. They give you a great choice of freshly made coffees and teas and you can have as many as you want. The staff are very friendly and helpful and our room was cleaned well everyday. The hotel is within walking distance on the cathedral and we also walked to the cable car and took a cable car over to the spa for the day. There are two restaurants and an ice cream parlour on the corner by the hotel which were very good. This hotel was definitely worth the money and I would stay here again.
