Discover these places worth visiting in Anchorage and select a hotel nearby for ultimate convenience
Anchorage Museum
东东张西望望东西This is a very beautiful museum. Through the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, you can learn about Anchorage and even Alaska's history and humanities. There are not many visitors and the materials are very rich.
Flattop Mountain
TTodemmyWe stayed at Williwa Campground and hiked the trails. It was very nice. Lots to do. Be sure to check out the nature trail when the salmon come upriver! I believe this is part of the USFS Chugach NF.
Alaska Zoo
东东张西望望东西The Alaska Zoo is very large. There are very few tourists in the cold winter, but not many animals come out of the zoo. I guess they all hide in warm places. But the zoo in winter is also very beautiful surrounded by snow.
Aurora Show
DDEAR张小球Winter attracts a lot of tourists. Whether you can see the scenery you want is a matter of luck. However, the scenery here in winter is indeed very beautiful, although the temperature is relatively low.
Captain Cook Monument
DDEAR张小球This is the landmark of the city, and it is also the location of the city's almost downtown. Since the hotel is near the monument, there is always a pass in and out here, and there is no one to visit it in the cold weather.
Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
Wwxx1026Very good, you can see the wild black bears and brown bears, which are protected after the wild injuries, surrounded for everyone to visit, and some other animals. It is not far from Anchorage, and will pass here after disembarking from the Whittier Pier.
Alyeska Aerial Tram
TTodemmyThis is more of a review of the campground than a review of the trail, as we actually spent more time on the campground loop than the trail. There is parking on Portage Glacier Road in front of the campground entrance, which leads to the trail and the salmon overlook. The campground is large, with a lot of nice sites, and trails run through it; you can hike the Willawaw Trail and the Trail of Blue Ice from here. Nice views of the mountains and glacier behind. Water and toilets. It was late in the season and nearly empty, but I can imagine it is very busy in the summer.
William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center
DDEAR张小球More lively place, there are more shopping malls and shopping centers around, there are also many restaurants and cafes, if you live in the city hotel, basically choose the hotel around here. Transportation is also convenient
Chugach State Park
TTodemmyWe stayed at Williwaw Campground and hiked the Blue Ice Trail behind the campground. It's a very easy, wide, flat trail - very low elevation. You can also access the Williwaw Nature Trail from there. We walked all the way to the Boggs Visitor Center and also hiked the Byron Glacier Trail. It was foggy/cloudy the day we went, but still a nice hike. We saw moose tracks in the mud - no moose tracks though! We enjoyed this easy trail. Worth an hour or two. You can also hike to Moose Flats (from Williwaw Campground) in the opposite direction of the Visitor Center. Pretty much the same scenery.
