Find the Cheap Alachua County Hotels

Internet problems were unacceptable! Unreliable internet! Neither bedside lamp worked. Plugs next to beds were so tired/loose that cell phone chargers would not work on one side of the bed and had to be plugged in across the room (not unusual for built-in outlets in headboards in hotels, sadly). To call these ”suites” while possibly legally accurate, seemed quite an exaggeration in my humble opinion - yes, they included a microwave, fridge, silverware, dishes, and a two-burner stove installed in the very same hallway entry area of any typical (smaller) hotel room -- but no extra sitting area that you would expect of a ”suite” designation or as is common in a Home2 Suites hotel (think typical hotel room with 4-foot counter-top-area wth kitchen cabinets for dishes, stove, a 5-foot tall junior-sized fridge), installed in any hotel room you've ever stayed in before. If you don't ask for housekeeping BEFORE 9 a.m., they refuse to provide it that day! Seemed arbitrary. Similarly, Breakfast is from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. hard stop. .The staff was generally disinterested, dismissive, and unhelpful (with a few exceptions). I asked a housekeeper for something small, and the response was: ”no.” Surprising response in a Marriott. I write these reviews more for myself so I know which hotels I've stayed at in an area and which ones to avoid in the future. I will not stay at this property again -- there are many lower-priced options in the area, and this was the MOST expensive hotel of them all. I expected more from a Marriott, and certainly from the most expensive hotel in the area -- which was why I chose it, hoping for an ”elevated” experience on a two-day trip with family.

Hyatt always guarantees quality, clean, service - no surprises. Staff is very attentive. We asked for extra towels on our second day and they were brought to the room within 15 minutes. There was no cleaning offered automatically on the second night of the stay, but it was not necessary for us. You are allowed to requested it if you wish. Street on the north of hotel is undergoing repairs, limiting some restaurant access.

Christina and Matt are excellent hosts for this boutique hotel. They provided wonderful service and help during my stay. Christina made me feel comfortable making the room sparkling clean and giving me directions to local spots. Matt carried my suitcase down the block and upstairs to my room. He also gave me directions to local spots. The hotel is located downtown Gainesville not far from St. Francis House, a homeless shelter. This was a concern for me a single woman. So I was careful after dark. It is also close to many restaurants and bars. And within walking distance of the courthouse. My room was the Downtown Studio. It is beautifully appointed with pictures modern kitchen, walk-in shower and modern bath amenities. The queen bed is very soft but firm enough to support you. The air conditioner drowned out the street noise which was very convenient.

There are two supermarkets such as target on the side of the hotel, including McDonald's, a Vietnamese restaurant and several American restaurants. Opposite the hotel is the school gate near the business school. The hotel is quite quiet and the stay is quite satisfactory. . . . . .

This hotel was very nice and clean with friendly front desk staff. I liked that we could turn up the fan in the room to block out outside noise. I didn’t like that ice was unavailable on our floor. The bathroom, while nicely turned out, was a black hole with the dark wallpaper absorbing all the light so it made seeing well to do hair and makeup a challenge for my daughter and me. The most surprising thing was the awful breakfast that the hotel offer. They should be embarrassed for charging people for it. The fruit bowls were empty, the bananas were green and the eggs we asked for were overly salted and soaked in butter. The rest of the offerings were very meager. I would definitely eat somewhere else.
