We arrived at the Waterfront Motel in Blenheim New Zealand and were pleasantly surprised to discover that the Motel was attached to a Hotel. Bingo! The weather had turned inclement and rain was most welcome to the thirsty soil in the districe. It rained for three days, the whole time we were there. It didn't dampen our spirits because we were warmly welcomed by the host Lisa and the hotel staff and we felt like a part of their family. Everyone was wonderful. Our room was large, very comfortable and warm. the hotel was a very short walk from our room. The menu was imaginitive, well presented, full of old fashioned home cooked flavour and delicious. The beer was cold, the Marlborough wine choices were excellent. Nothing was ever any trouble to them. The bar staff remembered our drink choices, our names and wanted to know about us!! We were just two little 80 plus year olds holidaying on their magnificent Island and we were treated as if we were very important people, not just a number in the rank and file of travellers who passed their way. . A big shout out and THANK YOU to Lisa and the staff at Waterfont Motel Blenheim.
According to the hotel reviews, it should be the best hotel in Marlborough. In fact, it's okay. Anyway, it's relatively old. There is a small fountain park outside the hotel.
There are many shops and nice cafes nearby, and there is a nice restaurant in the hotel.
We might have had the best room in the motel. so spacious and well decorated with my favorite red in the comfortable furnishings and situated right next to a beautiful, burbling brook looking like a mini botanical garden. The pool, tucked among shady trees and masses of colorful flowering shrubs was wonderfully refreshing for daily laps. The bed was excellent with just the right comforter, and the fridge was the best I've found in a motel along with an easy to work microwave. The kitchen was perfectly equipped and meals were so pleasant on the elegant glass dining table. The huge bathroom was a treat as well with a fine shower and big window. We enjoyed the sunny, breezy private patio too, perfect for quickly drying swimsuits, and washing bits. We couldn't have had a nicer stay!

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. The manager/owner, Judy was so friendly and just a wonderful person to chat with. The room was large and well laid out. Extremely well appointed to suit travelers needs. Great kitchen area, bathroom, large bed, dining table and lounge chairs. Room also had Netflix. It's a smaller motel and you get a distinct feeling the owners are proud of it and go above and beyond to look after both the property and the guests. Great to see a property that offers and promotes easy self recycling options adjacent to the main office. Only a 2 minute walk to the centre of Blenheim which has plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes etc. Supermarket also a very short walk.
The hotel is located in the downtown area of Blenheim, the capital of Marlborough Province, the famous white wine producing region of New Zealand. It is within 10 minutes walking distance from Blenheim railway station, bus station or downtown square. There are plenty of parking spaces in the hotel square, which is very convenient for walking and driving. The hotel rooms have a wide view and beautiful scenery. Although the rooms are a bit old, all the facilities and bedding are very tidy, clean and comfortable. All the staff are smiling, patient and enthusiastic. The hotel offers three meals a day, the menu is not extensive, but the food quality and taste are excellent. We stayed for two days. The experience was excellent and the price/performance ratio was very high. Going to a hotel not to be missed in Blenheim, highly recommended!
The 2 bedroom unit was very spacious. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Tuatara coffee delicious and a welcome addition. The owners were very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours after check-out and were happy for us to relax under a tree and umbrella on their very comfortable outdoor furniture. Also made a unit available for us to use for bathroom if required. Appreciated that. Close walk into town. Lovely gardens. Happily recommend Centre Court Motel.
Have stayed here for several years with a group on an annual trip. - Staff great & very welcoming, very comfortable beds. Swimming pool & large outdoor area for relaxing. Close enough to walk to town but also supermarket, takeaways & pub etc nearby.
Stayed for one night and overall it was quite comfortable. Although it is not in the center of town, it is only ten minutes' walk from the intercity station and train station, and a few minutes' walk is the commercial area. If you don’t have much luggage, you can walk there. The kitchen can be used for cooking and is very clean. In the camping area behind the hotel, you can take a walk after dinner and study various RVs, which is an eye-opener.
Blenheim is too young. I learned that there are no buses on weekends after I arrived. The popular museums and chocolate factories in the area are far away without driving. It took me 70 minutes to get to the museum. Fortunately, an employee of the museum sent me back to the hotel after get off work, otherwise I would have to go all the way back.
We were greeted very warmly by Julie, she was very friendly and provided us with lots of information. The rooms themselves are small, but very clean and what looks like nearly new carpet. Amenities provided are good, the shower pressure is amazing and the towels are wonderful. The bed was a little hard and the room was quite noisy. We were awoken by a car alarm in the early hours and a motorbike at dawn. Could also hear people talking downstairs and next door. The entry to the room was a glass sliding door, which felt a little disconcerting to be so open to people outside, but this was more perception than reality as there was a curtain attached to the door. The location is excellent as it was easy walking distance to the centre of Blenheim.

Blenheim
TTodemmyThe weather is good, it is a good place for vacation, if you want to go to the beach, you must get up early, otherwise you will find no place to put your feet. The sand is not visible. The town is also a good place to go. If you like to have a drink in the bar to have a draft beer, a few bincho is a good choice. Of course, Alicante's paella here is also a must-try. It is said that seafood is a special feature. Thank you. The children are very happy.
Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre
TTodemmyThis is a really good museum center. The quality, detail and variety of the exhibits are impressive. The design and layout are very well thought out. I was particularly impressed and even shocked by the Stalingrad exhibit. This is an experience not to be missed.
Wither Hills Cellar Door
TTodemmyBeautiful winery and environment, offering tours. The tasting includes many grape varieties of signature wines (5 USD refund per person if you buy anything). We tried 4 white wines. Acacia in general, Riesling is just strange, great Grey Pino, unusual but good Green Vitlina. The service is very warm and has useful information. Great bucket display and clean toilets.
Marlborough Museum
TTodemmy[Sights] Excellent few hours visit
[Fun] Visited the Marlborough Museum in early August to see the Nick Cave multimedia exhibition. This was our first time. You can park in the parking lot across the street from the museum, but since it is in the city center, there must be plenty of other public transportation and parking options. The entrance fee is not cheap, but it immediately proved to be worth it. Nick Cave's work is excellent, and the museum also has many beautiful paintings and very modern art. There is something for everyone who comes. The building is beautiful and the stairs are great. Highly recommended for a few hours in Calgary!
