Find the Cheap Overasselt Hotels

Stayed at Hotel Restaurant Umberto during Kings Day in April 2024. We are Senior Citizens and we enjoyed the hotel very much. It is a Very good location outside of the city of Nijmegen, Netherlands. Quiet location, Comfortable beds and rooms. All facilities in good working order. Free parking, also EV hookups. Located 5 minutes by car to the Wijchen RR station. Food at restaurant is very good and also Free breakfast which very good. Elevator to upper floors if you wish.

The place is nice, staff great. Unfortunately I can not split the stars so please read this. The one star is just and only for the Spa, and it's management. Today I booked a duo scrub to do something nice with my daughter. On the website it is written: Scrub, cream, and head massage for 2 people.50 minutes, 98 euro. This is misleading and totally unfair for the client. We get in and we have 1 masseuse for 2 people.So technically I am paying 49 euro each for 25 (it was 20 at the end) minutes, and not for 50 minutes. Again: THIS is not specified on the website. We are sitting on no bed, just some estethician chairs which put your head lower than your body, totally uncomfortable. Totally low standards. We get scrub on 4 parts of our body: lower legs, front arms, beginning of your back and belly.And we are asked to turn. So only front Then we shower, and with the swimming suits on and with the face towel we get (small) it's totally impossible to get the scrub out. I remove my swimming suit, and I ask for a shower towel, while I am trying butt naked to climb on the chair again. Then comes the cream on the same 4 spots. At my question : why don't we get cream on hands and feet, she says that: The cream makes the feet sliding and the client could fall (!!) And: Masseuse has a phobia touching feet. (Really??? Who hired you?and why don't you do facials then?). Last is the head massage of 5 minutes which it hurts because the amount of oil is non existent. We leave and we paid 98 euro for half a treatment, a partial scrub, a partial cream, dry hands, feet, and lower back, and scrub all over places that I can't name. Masseuse pretends not to see my disappointment or she doesn't care That's a rip off. Nowhere on the website are these things mentioned and we were not informed upfront that the treatment would be only for 4 parts of the body and the masseuse was phobic. I didn't get the choice to stand up and leave, instead of being robbed off I go to complain to reception and the EXCEPTIONAL Lucy (excellent customer care) talks with the spa manager. Obviously the management hired the phobic masseuse so that's the standard. Amateur hour I don't get any excuses, and only 23 euro off the bill. Poor Lucy is left to represent the Sanadome and the shabby operation of a cheap and amateur spa management. She offers me drinks. I appreciate it. I would go back to the hotel and to the thermae, however I won't book a treatment ever again. And so should you do as well! Note for Sanadome management: This kind of service which is obviously incompetently managed from a third part, lowers your standards and your stars. That was a quiet night in Cuijk! Rooms on the back. Note: Hotel Taurus is not a resort. Rooms are functional and very clean. A little more patates eaten on Friday night in the Foodstore below the hotel. With the charming owner who is making his best to keep Cuijk alive. A nice place like the Maas!

For our New Year's Eve stay, we were really looking forward to getting out and relaxing and having dinner on New Year's Eve. When we arrived we were given a warm welcome. When we got to our room we noticed that the rooms were showing their age, had not been looked after, were not clean, and had dirty bed linen - an impossibility! For New Year's Eve we were offered a really wonderful meal, which we were very pleased about. But then came the cold shower, there were far too few waiters for the number of people, we had to wait a long time for the waiter, as well as for the drinks, the waiters shouted at each other, the food, the starter and the dessert were absolute disasters, I got a New Year's Eve meal in a bowl!!??, a mass of sauce and meat mashed together and that for a 4 star hotel that is a NO GO. And so the evening continued, one dilemma after another. When we complained we were told that there were not enough people and the chef was ill. That is the stupidest excuse I have ever heard. I want my entire budget back!!!!!!!!!

Although recently supposed to has been renovated the hotel doesn't give a fresh impression. The sink of the shower was clogged. On the 2nd day it got cleaned after I asked about it. A colleague claimed about the same issue in her bathroom. The curtains on the windows don't block the sunlight. That caused me waking up much earlier on a sunny day. One has to keep the double windows closed to be isolated well the traffic noise (my room was in the 5th floor). The rooms have air conditioning. The breakfast was very basic.

Just had a drink and pre dinner snack. Ordered a small borrel snack of charcuterie with cheese nuts and olives. It was a generous portion between us filling enough to not need much dinner when we arrived home in Lent. Friendly attentive personnel and plenty of them. We sat with our dog on the terrace which overlooks a luscious green field. We felt very welcome.
