Find the Cheap Nairobi Hotels

Fries had a rat leg and there was a used condom under the pillows!!! the entire place smelled of mildew and dampness.When I entered my room, I was horrified to find the bed unmade, with sheets that were not only discolored but also threadbare and full of stains. The bathroom was even worse—grimy tiles, mold in the shower, and rusty fixtures that made me feel like I’d get tetanus just by touching them. Dust and dirt were piled up in every corner, and the furniture was old, scratched, and in some cases, even broken.To top it off, I spotted a cockroach in the corner of my room, which completely grossed me out. I didn’t feel safe or comfortable here at all. If you value cleanliness, hygiene, and your overall well-being, stay far away from this place. It’s a health hazard and should be shut down immediately.

STAY AWAY. This hotel is a fleabag. I am a travel agent and booked this hotel for clients for one night and myself for two nights. After each changing rooms 1x, with the 2nd room being as bad or worse than the first, we left and checked in elsewhere. Upon speaking to some business contacts in Nairobi, they shared that is typical- most people check in and out within an hour. In a nutshell, the rooms were filthy. The carpet was stained and wet in some areas. The furniture was pealing and/or missing the laminate. There was no air conditioning and the windows either wouldn't open (no screens) or if open, the street noise and exhaust was overwhelming (this in just the hour we were there!). The bathroom was worse. Cracked tiles, dirty, some mold, and if there was a shower (not all rooms had one which was not disclosed) the ”shower” was a blue bucket attached to the ceiling with perforated holes. The guy at the front desk was the only good thing about the place. He was quite apologetic and asked that we wait to speak with the GM. The GM thought it was quite amusing- smirking as he spoke with us, and was unwilling to do anything for us regarding a refund. We have since recommended that ******* and all Credit Card travel programs remove this hotel from their listings- as well as advised my East Africa travel group to never recommend. They seemed to be doing some renovations (which they also didn't disclose)- removing the carpeting and putting in tile. However, in addition to all above, the room I was given had two rooms (one across hall and one next door) being renovated with the noise of that occurring as well as chemical and paint odors also permeating the hall. AGAIN. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

A hotel from the days of Old Africa and it was that and more. The staff truly care about your enjoyment and the facilities are excellent be that the pool, the many dining opportunities and more. If you stay and need a driver ask for Bernard Chirchir. We used him as a guide to great shopping and he is such fun to be with.

I was worried that the hotel was far from the city center, but after I lived, I knew how correct this choice was. The city center is really too chaotic, and traffic jams are also very serious. So I feel very comfortable back to the elegant hotel. The room was a bit simplistic, but the restaurant was very family-friendly, the garden was lovely and the breakfast was good. The service is also very gentle and polite, and the overall satisfaction.

Excellent hotel. Food was awesome, service was impeccable, and facilities were perfect. The location was ideal for access to the JKIA airport.

We recently visited this place and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. Veronica, who attended to us, was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs, making us feel very welcome throughout our visit. It's clear that the staff takes pride in providing excellent service, and it really enhanced our overall experience. The food was equally impressive. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We could tell a lot of care and attention went into each meal, and it definitely lived up to our expectations. It's not often that we find a restaurant where everything is so well executed, but this place truly stands out.

I've visited Margarita House five times now, each time travelling for work in Ngong. The staff are wonderful; Gladys, Natasha and the rest of the team are all lovely people and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. The rooms are quite basic, but spacious. The rooms with a balcony in the main building, looking over the main courtyard, are the best. There is a small pool and gym, and the gardens are relaxing. If you're interested in wildlife, you'll see visiting birds and monkeys. WiFi is about the best you'll get in Kenya, and when it went 'down' one time in all my travels, the team quickly made sure a 3G/4G router was available to reconnect us. I once travelled during a period of uncertainty (elections) and the 24/7 security made me feel very safe. The hotel can be contacted directly to organise transport from the airport (which typically takes 45 minutes). I strongly advise this option if you haven't visited Nairobi before; they will wait patiently for you even if your flight is delayed. Food choice was reasonable, as were portion sizes - and you can choose to eat at the pool, in the restaurant or even in your room. I'd like to see more dessert options! The welcome drink on arrival is always gratefully received after a long flight. I've stayed in the 5* hotels near the airport before, but I prefer being in Karen, in the quiet, with excellent customer service and chilled (Kenyan!) vibe. I may not be back in Kenya for a long while, so best wishes to all the wonderful team who have looked after me over the last two years - Stefan.
