The hotel is located in the old town of the small town, and you can experience the life of the locals at close range. Close to the cathedral. There are free parking spaces around. Although the hotel is in the old city, the design is avant-garde and beautiful. Very warm and characteristic hotel. The small town is located between Tarragona and Salou, a 5-minute drive to Ferrari theme parks and PortAventura theme parks.

The hotel is located between Taragona and Salo, close to the main theme park of Adventure Port and Ferrari Theme Park, 5 minutes drive. Clean and beautiful environment and comfortable sleep. There are many special restaurants downstairs.

I booked two weeks half board through tui as came to salou last year and really enjoyed it Last year we stayed at the Villa Romana next door, i chose this hotel this time as managed to get two weeks for almost the same price as previous holiday and standards advertised appeared similar. Both hotels are large hotels and in my opinion offer the same standard of service. Positives. All staff are very pleasant and welcoming, had an issue with balcony door not locking which was sorted very quickly with no fuss. Hotel is very clean and tidy, air con works fine and room was suitable for our needs, we had room on the fourth floor which overlooking pool area. Shower was excellent and beds very comfortable. Hotel is in a good location with a short walk to salou and the theme park and transfer from hotel only 30 minutes. Breakfast choice was good and pool bar is nice, food and drinks at pool bar both reasonable price and quality and service excellent. Entertainment in evenings was mostly good fun and a nice atmosphere. Negatives. Choice of evening meal was terrible - variety and standard was poor, food was cold and on occasion not cooked through. There were chips and nuggets etc in case the other more continental choices didn’t appeal but even these were cold and rubbery, I couldn’t understand why the quality in the evening was so poor. In the end we mostly gave up with the restaurant and went to the Robin Hood bar in Salou for food which was lovely although it was annoying having to pay for food out when we had gone half board but needs must. Pool situation in the morning was ridiculous, to see adults queuing with towels at 830 when they don't open until 930 and then see them running to secure sun loungers with their towels was embarrassing and cringe worthy - once towels were placed they would then walk off and not return for hours, this made securing a sun lounger after 10 impossible and caused issues with planning the day. Wifi - shocking, constantly disconnecting and very slow Hostility - i found all staff at the hotel lovely, very cheerful and happy to help however when away from the hotel in town i noticed a lot more rudeness from locals especially in shops, on a number of occasions we were totally ignored whilst waiting to pay for items and when we were served we received a somewhat frosty reception. This was very noticeable in Barcelona where there was borderline hostility from shop staff. Ive been to Spain and Salou in particularly numerous times over the past 30 years with no such issues but there was a definite change on this occasion which did get slightly tiring and annoying after a while. I would recommend the hotel but would be mindful of the food and sun-lounger issues which could be easily resolved by the hotel. On reflection I think booking bed and breakfast would offer better value for money if you are looking to get out and explore the local area each day or if you enjoy having a nice meal in the evening. We stayed a week in a 4th floor two bed apartment which was very clean, well equipped , with pool view large balcony and had its own boiler supplied hot water . The apartments are a bit dated inside and out and the exterior could do with smartening up but the pool and sunbathing area are very well kept and clean . When we stayed there were plenty of available sunbeds . We did see the pool attendant reluctantly removing towels from reserved sunbeds first thing in the morning after waiting for a while . This seems reasonable .. he is only doing what he’s been asked to do by owners . One slightly inconvenient thing is that there are no toilets around the pool area , so you have to go back to the apartment . The apartments are in the “town” area rather than the busy “tourist area” at the other end of the beach . Although there are plenty of local cafes , supermarkets and bars in the area . The apartments are about a fifteen min walk from the beach . Be aware that two sunbeds and a parasol is €25 a day . I had read negative comments about staff in reception , but I found them helpful and friendly . Just because someone doesn’t have a great command of English doesn’t make them “rude and unfriendly “. The staff were helpful in getting a parasol for the hot balcony and were accommodating when we wanted a late check out on our apartment ( albeit with a small charge )

We have been staying at this hotel for almost 8 years now. The pool area is beautiful and the location is ideal for us. The staff are fantastic, we always get such a lovely welcome whenever we arrive. We arrived at the hotel one week after they re-opened for the season and were very surprised to find out how busy they already were. I have never seen such queues for the restaurant in all my years. They have started a new policy of personally seating everyone before returning to assist the next people in the queue, this has definitely had an affect on the growing queue system. I think they either need to add more seating in the restaurant to deal with the volume of people or extend the breakfast and dinner times, which may reduce the queue issue. If it's this busy in My, I dread to think what it will be like in July! The food was just okay, definitely not worth the 30 minute wait to get into the restaurant, and then further queues for the grilling and omelette station when you get in there! They have stopped doing the fresh orange juice, the speciality (themed) section and the food truck which is disappointing (this might have something to do with it being low season). When I was there in October, there were quite a few things broken, tiles, bathroom doors etc which is expected after a busy season but I was surprised to see that these things were still not fixed while they were closed. There have been a lot of staff changes throughout they years, it's always sad to see some of your favourite staff leave but its great to meet the new staff too. We found out that a lot of last years animation team like Dani, Arian and Julio were moved to their sister hotel across the road so we did sneak over there a few times to say hi. The hotel itself is a great and it is fantastic value for money but it's just not what it used to be. It certainly has the potential to be the number 1 family hotel in Salou again but the rooms need to be upgraded, improve the layout of the restaurant and add more tables, they should bring back the themed nights in the restaurant, bring back the special treat stall outside the restaurant when you are leaving (popcorn/candyfloss, sweets, chocolate fountain etc). It's the little extras that can make a nice stay a fantastic one.

Great Hotel and location The food is good and worth the money(we stayed half board). Tips. Take a plug socket extension lead. only 2 plugs in room so trying to have chargers, hairdryer etc is a pain unless you take one. There is shampoo, conditioner, shower gel in rooms that gets filled up and good quality. So save space in your case. . Ask for a lower floor room. The lifts are a nightmare! Always queuing and only 2 lifts per half a hotel, so at meal times especially you have to walk up and down or wait for ages. Order 2 drinks at a time at the evening entertainment as the queue for the bar can get ridiculous. Take Mossie spray ! Sunbeds - they have a rule if you leave your bed between 9 and 1pm then they take your towels away. They do put a card on your bed and then if you haven’t returned in 15/20 mins they WILL take your things away. However, we seen plenty of times , people in the pool playing with kids and towels being taken and then families lost their beds to other people causing arguments and frustration. On some occasions the big tall guy who is the usher in the reception walks out and takes towels without even putting cards down 1st. The hotel says there are enough beds for everyone, but there is not. We saw People sit on the white plastic chairs waiting for beds to come up or even grass on people who have left the beds to go to breakfast, so that they can have there bed when the staff take the towels. Basically if you want a bed, you have to queue at 8;30 for the doors to open at 9am. Run and get beds. Then stay on your bed while your Mrs goes to breakfast then swap over and go to breakfast on your own otherwise you lose the bed.. which works, but a shame as you don’t get breakfast together unless you go for breakfast before 9 together then get the beds. It does spoil the stay, but I understand why they do it, to stop the early morning sunbed claims … but they need to ensure people aren’t actually in the pool or at the bar or playing the many games with the entertainment team, before they whip your towels away. I’m not sure if we would stay again. The food and entertainment is good. But the lifts and the sunbeds make it stressful when you want to chill on holiday and not be setting an alarm to get up for a sunbed. I know the hotel will say they have enough sunbeds on reply to this review, but they have 351 rooms , there isn’t even 350 sunbeds( I counted) , so if 1 person was staying in each room never mind couples and families staying in each room there would never be enough. Good hotel - left 4 stars for the rooms, entertainment team(amazing) and the food. Let down by the issues I have mentioned.

We’ve had a fab holiday in Salou, staying in this hotel but let me tell you it’s definitely not a 4* however nothing has been bad. Hotel is modern, with a nice reception area. We stayed for 12 nights weather was gereat. Rooms are basic & very small, TV only has BBC news in English, but there are some music channels you can put on, the bathroom is new, nice and clean hotel all round. Food is different ever night and a good array but can get bored so might want to plan a few nights out to eat. Every single member of staff are great, always happy and smiling even though they seem to work very long shifts, nothing was ever too much for them, room keys seem to disconnect quiet often so keep them away from you phone. WiFi is great in reception but not anywhere else around the hotel so you may need to budget for using your data roaming. Pool is great just too small for how big the hotel is. The owners really need to invest some money into another pool or an extension of the current one, there is also so much space that could be utilised to make this hotel great. It does have a small arcade but this is again expensive. The doors to the pool open at 9am and basically if your not fast your last. All inclusive ends at 11pm, no floats in the pool. There seems to be a lot of ants and flies all over this hotel I don’t think it’s due to a lack of cleaning because this is a nice clean hotel, but it’s something that needs addressed urgently. Has a gym and indoor pool & spa which need to be paid for. I also felt like we were too far away from the shops and beach. Yes it’s only a 15min walk but with a 6 year old it wasn’t enjoyable in the blazing heat for him. We did hire the bikes they are old and rusty but did the trick & they have helmets for the little ones. To make this hotel better it’s just needs money invested into it. Fix the broken sunloungers or get rid of them, don’t leave them lying around the pool, also the pool seemed to be dirty on a few occasions on the floor not enough that we couldn’t go in just could have done with some extra cleans. No D&V and we ate in the hotel for the full 12 days. The noise in the corridors is terrible people have simply no respect for others and this goes on until the early hours of the morning. Just going back to my point of food, the plates are in the middle of the Buffet I don’t understand this. The queues for food are very long however food is good, & always piping again like the pool it’s just to small for all of the people staying here. You do have a fridge in your room so if you are half board which most people are. Go to michael angelos super market and stock up on water and snacks ect, instead of paying the prices at the bar. I'm usually quite fussy with cleanliness and although there were places for improvement the rooms was very pleasant and perfect for myself and 10 year old daughter. We were so pleased to have a double bed each. I desperately want to know which mattresses they use, I suffer with back problems but while at the hotel these were minimal, they were a lovely firm foam, surprisingly comfortable, I wish I'd taken a picture or looked at the brand! The plug on the bathroom sink was broken so the drain smell was a bit awful, I kept a soap filled sponge over it or it smelled eggy. There were hand soap, shower gel and shampoo provided, the hairdryer though small, worked well and the air conditioning was amazing, it cooled the room so well. The noise is a bit of an issue as mentioned in other reviews, the chairs and furniture dragging on the floors especially and even with the balcony door closed, it sounded like a window was slightly open. We both got a very good night's sleep though despite the noise because the entertainment finished by 11pm things settled around 12am. We stayed on the 5th floor over looking the pool. Food was awful for us on the first night, however breakfast there is something for everyone, and the following evening meals I myself found delicious. My daughter consumed a lot of chips bit she's a very fussy eater. She enjoyed the pasta most evenings and the desserts - especially the rice pudding, that is a stunning dish! The stew like dishes I throughly enjoyed. The Spa wasn't up to much and you have to buy a swimming cap to enter which isn't made very clear until you are told at €3 each. Best tips: queue for dinner at 6:45pm, there are very long queues some nights. Get to the pool reasonably early, the beds get taken quickly if they're in the sun. Use the stairs to come down and the lifts to go up if you can. The lifts can get very busy and while they didn't break down while we were there, they do feel like a bit of a death trap! They don't stop closing if you're in the way either. Location wise, this hotel is just fab. Its a 10 minute walk to portaventura and ferrari land, a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach and its far enough away from the main ***** to stay away from the noise. We went at the end of October so probably out of season so maybe this helped with the noise. Overall pleasant, comfortable and I would stay again.
