Stayed for 15 days across 3 different rooms. Aged rooms with plumbing smells in bathroom, non-functional appliances (broken dryer, then microwave, then TV) and our final room was next to a broken bin shoot which meant dinner was eating by the smell of humid warm rubbish. We checked out early due to Covid lock down and was told we would be refunded the leftover days only to be told the following day it would only be one. The justification being it was 12 minutes past check out even though we were made to wait at reception. Would recommend Mantra on Edward, Meriton Hershel for the same price range and a more comfortable stay.

Excellent position- especially for day surgery at St Andrews, very short walk. However, lots of small maintenance issues. Both the bed and the only couch very saggy, needs replacing. Trip hazard with raw broken metal sticking out from under the couch, which we assume was a part of a pull out bed. Dirty shower- clearly not cleaned as evidenced by dirty glass shelf which still had the previous occupants soap on it and mould growing separate to that which was growing in the silicon, could easily be wiped away. The towel rail kept falling down, and when grabbing a glass from the kitchen shelf met with a very sticky substance on the shelf itself. Clearly the place was not properly cleaned after the previous tenant/s. It's a real shame because the location is very good, we were just left with sore backs and a general feeling of distinct lack of cleanliness. I also got a reply to my booking-in process two days after I enquired (and the day after we booked in!) - which would have made booking in on a Sunday afternoon infinitely easier, especially as we wouldn't have had to stand in the sweltering hot sun waiting on finding some way of getting in to reception to check in. Needs updating and more attention to basic courtesies.

The wife & I had to stay in Brisbane for eight days, and checking out the first six reviews, we decided to stay at the Astor Apartments for $936 + $200 holding fee released after we left. Very spacious but quite old. TV is small, which does not matter because the couches are so uncomfortable; one cannot sit on them long enough to watch anything pillows helped. Large kitchen with outdated appliances. Oven, microwave, dishwasher. Large fridge Very dated bathroom. The toilet seat is so old; it looks permanently stained. The bathroom sink tap was loose, the toilet roll holder also just hanging on, handles were fulling off draws. Air conditioning/ heating not working unit not clean the place cold. I talked to management; they told us the air conditioners/heaters have not worked for a long time and gave us a small heater, found a fan in the bedroom cupboard, and later found a second heater and an old VCR. A large balcony with views over the city is great because you will be awake very early, no blackout curtains, and the curtains don't cover all of the enormous windows. Glass is relatively thin, so night noises and all-night street cleaners also people screaming can be heard. Washing machine, dryer, clothes airer, provided can not close the door when using the dryer which took a long time to dry one's clothes. A lumpy bed with no bed head and only one PowerPoint by the bed went out and purchased underlay so we could sleep. Proper cleaning is required. Quite dusty in the vents, behind the bed & window ledges, the wife stood on Glass in the bedroom vacuum cleaner had no bag and did not work so spoke to management about Glass they did not seem to care asked for a vac that worked one was delivered so vacuumed the place window. Sheets were too short for the bed; my feet got tangled in under the blanket; when I asked management, they told me that this happens in a lot of places and that they have travelled all over the world, and this practice was normal and acceptable got extra sheets of them so I could fix the problem. We would have left the next day but because of an operation and was not very mobile stayed put for the duration, saying that we would never stay there again and advise others to check out other places.

The staff as always were pleasant and courteous. The meals were yummy. This time we both had lamb shanks. Disappointed that the bed base made cracking noises and the lounge chair had a tear.

I have stayed in other motels in the area, often because the Metropolitan was fully booked. It is a short walk to town, mostly down hill, and if I wanted to bring shopping back, can get a taxi from the city center for less than $10. I have stayed here when seeing a specialist on Wickham Terrace. Not the purpose of this trip but it is an option if that is the reason to be in Spring Hill. Parking is not guaranteed, but I never had a problem finding space. the staff are courteous and the rooms clean. Currently the restaurant is not a going concern, obvious hard to do business in lockdown(s), but there is a little cafe across the road offering Vietnamese soups and western fare. If looking for place to stay in Spring Hill. Metropolitan is excellent choice on a budget.

I've booked 3 nights in a studio directly fm hotel website (+ a paid secure car park). The shower water pressure is the worst I have ever experienced. It is not possible to take a proper shower & don't even think about washing hair. We've told the staff at reception in the next morning. Then, we went out for sightseeing. We're surprised that it has been fixed while we back in afternoon. So, appreciate their quick action. However, I found my face towel, which was hung on towel rack, was very dirty. Obsiously, someone cleaned his/her dirty hand by my face towel. I believe the hotel manager should do something to improve their maintenance team. Some noise fm street while sleeping. We closed the window near bed & problem solved. Lighting in the room is not enough. The little shelf in shower is too small. It can only fit in 1 shower gel bottle. And some more hooks shall be fixed in toilet for hanging clothes. Hotel location is good. Close to walk to CBD & river.
