The first positive about this motel is its central location. You can walk from the motel to the main area of Daylesford within minutes. Upon arrival, the customer service was friendly and helpful. Our room was one with a spa, a microwave, small kitchenette, a very comfortable bed, a couch, really beautiful towels…….it was in many ways an old fashioned country motel, but it’s done well. A previous guest had forgotten to log out of their Netflix, so we got to watch that too! We were stunned that you could order a continental breakfast, delivered to your room, for $10 a person. Probably the cheapest breakfast in all of Daylesford and we now regret not ordering it. The only thing that we found uncomfortable was that outside each room was a table with 2 chairs, and each table had an ashtray on it. The people in the room next to us were very heavy smokers and the smell of the smoke was seeping into our room, both throughout the night and in the early morning too. Our request to the motel would be to ban smoking outside of rooms and make a smoking area outside somewhere, maybe in a gazebo away from the rooms. The other major plus for this venue is that you can book for one night. So many accomodation facilities in the Daylesford area have a 2 night minimum to stay, so to find one that had a 1 night option is a huge plus. We will definitely return to this motel and we will make sure we order the breakfast next time!

The motel, relatively new, the 1.8-meter bed is quite comfortable. Take the key in the pub across the road, the waiter will bring it to the room, introduce the room facilities, explain how to check out, and explain that the drinks in the minibar are all free. There is a small table and two chairs outside each house, you can sit in the courtyard by the door and enjoy the sun.
I am in Daylesford for my 50th Birthday Sojourn and Balconies Lakeside has been the perfect place to lay my head in between lovely meals, brunches, wanders and spa dates. The rooms are comfortable, clean-clean and just lovely spaces. The owners and staff have been so wonderful and just made my stay that little extra special. The Aged Aunt and I will definitely be back to enjoy Daylesford and we will definitely be booking ourself a Balconies Lakeside studio room or cottage to R&R in. Thank you so much for making my, what I call, F-wording Fabulous 50th Sojourn just perfect!!
Comfortable enough and friendly hosts. Great location. Very comfortable bed and kitchen facilities were good enough. Bathroom was dated and not particularly clean which was a let down. Ask for an upstairs room as you can hear the people moving around upstairs and it can be annoying at 2am !!
This place is unique!!! Loved it!!
Great location with easy walking distance to the Main Street, excellent service, Helen is amazing and super friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Recommend this place if you want something a bit different from the usual accommodation!

Outstanding
If you're seeking a romantic getaway or a solo retreat for pure relaxation, look no further than The Dudley Boutique. This was the best decision on our 10-days trip and the best accommodation out of 4! This intimate hotel oozes charm from the moment you step inside. The décor is beautifully curated, with thoughtful touches that create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It's clear the owners take immense pride in their establishment, and their passion shines through in every detail. One of the highlights of my stay was the sleep quality. We badly needed a good night's rest after days of driving and some dismal bedding in the earlier accommodations! Their incredibly comfortable bedding and peaceful surroundings ensured a restful night's sleep. Waking up refreshed, we were greeted by a breakfast that surpassed most local restaurant standards. It was evident that the food was homemade, bursting with flavor and prepared with love. The personalized service truly elevated our overall stay experience. The owners went above and beyond to cater to our needs, offering recommendations and arranging thoughtful amenities. Their genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests. An added bonus was the stunning mineral spring reserve located just opposite the hotel. We enjoyed a rejuvenating hike through the reserve, taking in the natural beauty and just soaking in the cool weather! Overall, The Dudley Boutique provided an exceptional escape. It's the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and personalized service. We can't wait to return and experience their magic again!
This is the most relaxing place, no children allowed, It has got a king Size Bed, Hugh spa in the Bathroom, self contained Kitchen, perfect if you don't feel like going anywhere, Gas Log Fire Burner, 2 Fridges, 1 with a small freezer. It's own balcony which is so relaxing having a drink and watching the wildlife!! It centrally located, Daylesford is just down the road and there is so many places to visit!!
GGUANGGreat hotel, restaurant coffee and meals on the ground floor are good. The cocktails in the lobby are also well prepared in the evening. The hotel has a free swimming pool sauna and a small hot spring pool, free bath towels at the front desk, and the hotel courtyard has a beautiful view. The staff at the front desk was very friendly. They took us to the room and introduced the room facilities. It was so good that I wanted to tip, but my wallet was 50 because I was stingy, so I didn't want to.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Shizuka Ryokan. The experience was exactly what we had expected, from check in to check out. Some of my friends and relatives thought we were actually in Japan! The room was spacious and beautifully presented. The tatami was just the right thickness, while the bath was simply relaxing. The breakfasts were so filling we skipped lunch on 2 of the days we were there, and the dinner was absolutely delicious. All the staff were very attentive. I could see that they enjoy what they do and love interacting with guests. I look forward to staying at Shizuka Ryokan again in the future.
XXIANGLUThe location of the town is 1-2 minutes from Melbourne, a beautiful European style town. The hotel is located in the spa area of the town, which is a good spa hotel. There is free parking and the breakfast is very generous. There is a restaurant near the hotel, Frang and connie's Kitchen, which tastes good and is visited by many locals. Unfortunately I missed the lake in the town.
Added: I forgot my wallet in the hotel's event lobby. I can still find it at the front desk when I walked. Although the cash is gone, the card is still alive. Therefore, you still have to take care of your things.
We were a group of 16 ladies from Perth.I cannot thank Gill enough for providing us with an awesome stay .The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean very comfortable beds ,microwave cutlery, crockery, tea and coffee, warm heaters and electric blankets and plenty of towels.are provided. We were able to use the conference room each day for exercises and meditation and massages all with the help of Gill setting it up for us. The price of our stay was excellent value .I have stayed here before and will return. The bathhouse is a very short stroll through the bush.Restaurants and the General store in Hepburn all within walking distance from the the motor inn .
MMarcusW970Booked at Hepburn Springs Escape for an anniversary getaway. The design of the complex is stunning - each room cantilevered overlooking, well either the road or the car park of the adjacent springs complex. Even still, it’s a pretty impressive location. We stayed in villa 1 which is the farthest from the road and right next to the forest so little noise. The layout is great - big open bathroom with spa, not so comfortable to lay in if you’re over 5.5 foot tall. The bed, super comfy, the quality of the linen, toiletries all reflect the price point. Sadly, from here the rest left us feeling a little ripped off. Having read reviews on various sites which claim the standards of maintenance are such that guests feel nervous putting a glass down without a coaster under it and given the emphasis on having ‘clean and sanitised’ Covid safe spaces, I was expecting the room to be spotless. Unfortunately it seemed as if the cleaner got so far, decided to duck off early and leave the room half done. The cleanliness of the villa was below average. Glass cleaned with dirty cloths, bird bathroom mirror had been wiped down with a dirty cloth leaving greasy streaks, floor not mopped and shower not wiped down completely Glass doors and balustrade were streaky and greasy. Curtains with missing or broken hooks which meant the curtain sagged, even down to a broken plastic bin that hasn’t bothered to be replaced. All of this aside, it was actually the large toenail cutting which had been left/missed/ignored in the middle of the balcony floor that nearly put me over the edge. To immerse yourself in pure luxury, as they claim to offer guests to relax and unwind in is difficult when you’ve forked out nearly $300 for a room which desperately needs a good scrub down and some much needed maintenance! Sadly it doesn’t come close to pure luxury.
GGuest UserDeeply disappointed by this accommodation. The service is poor to non-existent. At reception they give you a door access code and that is it. They could not assist us in turning to fire completely off, getting the television to work, or any other queries. A person came to fix the TV and gave up after 30 minutes. Also there is no WiFi - ridiculous for this level / cost of accommodation. The room looked great on the surface however had the following issues: -- bad servicing, a mess of cables which had not been secured and a pair of underwear still in the cupboard (classy!) -- terrible design, the fire does not turn off so constantly sends a low level of heat, and the aircon does not match the size of the room. It was mid-20s temperature when we stayed and by the end of the day it was uncomfortably hot. -- impractical design. Side windows next to the bed (and everywhere) meant that to get changed you had to hide in the loo, or close all the blinds. And the fireplace is positioned so that it blocks the view from the bed. Shower visible from out the windows too! -- a kitchen that was useless. No bowls (we ate cereal out of the water glasses), insufficient cutlery for 2 people and a random assortment of kitchen gear / crockery which meant that what was it was impractical to do anything other than open wine or a pack of dip. It felt very much like someone intended to delivery luxury and then skimped on the design, furnishing (couch from Freedom!) and taking the time to plan a functional and enjoyable space.
