The hotel has free parking, and it is also free on the street from 5 pm to 9 pm the next day. The overall service staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean and quiet. It's very convenient to go to the central, 15 minutes' walk away. If you live here, you can basically walk to the beach if you don't want to.

Excellent place to stay & more like a hotel than motel. Very friendly and helpful staff, well-organised and made us feel welcome from the get-go which is always a great start to a holiday. Spacious room, all amenities provided - iron + board, hair dryer, kettle + tea, coffee, cocoa, sugar, air conditioning, satellite t.v., comfortable recliners, cutlery and so-forth. Very comfortable and large bed, lots of drawers etc. to store belongings. Even the bath had water jets! Cleaned well every morning. All ran like clockwork. Would most definitely recommend this location for all of the above and location - is a short walk into town and the airport bus is literally around the corner.

The owner was very friendly. The room, while a little dated, was great for the price - especially with the spa bath included. The room was also spotless. Town is a little bit of a walk away, but the spa made it all worthwhile. Handy to Edgeware village if you need to do any grocery shopping.

Room was very comfortable and clean. good facilities. TV was amazing. Lots to choose from on it. Microwave for cooking supplied. Fridge also. Washing facilities if required and all Free! Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

We had a great stay. We were upgraded to a three bedroomed suite which was perfect. The suite was really spacious and had everything we needed. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly too. Went to the dinner buffet at the restaurant. Came out way too full! The selection was wonderful and the service was great. The food was done very well especially the roasted pork ribs. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend especially if you have a family.

Really love the hotel. Very suitable for traveller. There is kitchen for cooking with complete all the aminities. They also provide space to hang out with friends and family. Very near as in 15-20 minutes away from the hotel.

Staff is very friendly and check in on counter was fairly easy. The staff saw that we had a lot of luggages and let us bring the airport trolley to our room.
So the next day we just push the trolley from hotel to airport. Which is very convenient for us with many luggages.
I will definitely come back this hotel again for next stay due to the location and friendly staff.
Hotel buffet was good too. And nice view from the restaurant.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in New Zealand for three weeks! Super praise! The boss is Chinese, warm and thoughtful (and even sent me to the city ^_^^_^)! The hotel is well equipped and the facilities are very new... Living in such a hotel in a foreign country, I really feel like going home! I will definitely recommend my companion to stay next time. I wish the hotel business is getting better and better!

GGuest UserDATE OF TRAVEL: July 2023 Stayed here for 10 days on a business trip. Room and bathroom was great but the beds are awful. They are not attached to a bed head and are an ensemble base only so they move around. I had a better sleep in a motel in Timaru, which is a shame because working 10 hour days, staying in a 5* hotel, one would think you'd sleep like a baby. Fortunately the shower's high pressure and the bath were great, Apart from that, the hotel grounds is beautiful with ample parking. My room had a veranda which I liked to sit on and watch the traffic go by. I had requested a microwave so as to meal prep due to my diabetes and this was in there prior to check in which was great. Hotel is just around the corner from a heap of restaurants and Westfield Ricccarton and right next to Hagley Park which was great for a morning walk. In room dining was fine, nothing special. I tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Saturday and it was lacklastre. Didn't end up going back. Plenty of cafes around anyway. All up, I rate my stay there 4*. The facilities were great, the requests were met eagerly and the bathroom was fantastic. The room itself is really well appointed but the bed is awful which detracts a star. I'd stay there again with my wife though, maybe bring some *****s to attach to the bed legs to stop them from moving around though!

The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. GGuest UserThe V motel is conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping mall and grocery store and a 15-minute drive to the airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is large, clean and very well-equipped. It has all the things that a business traveller needs, except for an iron and ironing board. The bed is comfortable and the towels and linings are clean. The Sony TV is large with Youtube and Netflix. It even provides some cereals and bananas, milk and yogurt for breakfast or snacks. The internet is fast and instructions, passwords are clear and easy to follow. Lastly, the price is fair and very affordable. I highly recommend this motel and would come back to it the next time.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location, but it is a big hotel. The staff are very pleasant and they make it feel more personal. It is close to shops, restaurants / cafes, the tram and most of what Christchurch city has to offer. We booked direct with the hotel, a good price for the location, but our studio room had a view of a carpark and other room windows. The room was big enough but an extra chair would have been better. We did not like the uncomfortable pillows and the extremely heavy bed cover we had to remove. We don’t normally ask for clean towels each day, but had to with no where to hang to dry sufficiently and no electric towel hanger like we have had in most other hotels we’ve stayed in NZ. Overall a pleasant stay and no problem with valet parking.

GGuest UserWe arrived at the hotel around 5pm - busy time on the road, and it is a pretty busy road (though quieted down after rush hour). The hotel is in a residential area,not too far from the Arena, but not any shops/restaurants right nearby. One could walk to these places - about 20 minutes away, but I wouldn't be that keen at night even though the owner said the area was very safe. The owner got us quickly checked in. She didn't offer any milk or give us the wifi like all the other motels we've ever stayed in, but otherwise she was friendly and efficient. Our room (#10) was upstairs, about halfway back. I was a bit worried about the noise (i'm a super light sleeper), but once we were in the room it was quiet. The space is small (we had a queen bed 1bdroom?) and a bit weirdly laid out, but very clean - which was really the most important thing. There was a closet with iron/board/ extra pillows and blankets which is always great, and a tiny fridge for snacks. The bed was clean and comfy, nice and dark too with the curtains closed and door shut. The bathroom was tidy, nice to have small shampoo/conditioner, and the water pressure was spot on. We couldn't find any details in the book about wifi, we ended up going to the office and getting it as I tried calling from the room and it just kept ringing out. Don't know the issue - she was in the office. She said there was a 'white paper with the wifi code written on it' in the room - finally found it in the bedroom. Overall a good, quick 1 night stay.

GGuest UserA very nice hostel. I only stayed in this hostel for one night but I will definitely go back there. Rooms clean, quite large and modern decor. I did not stay in a dorm room but the whole building makes such a good impression with good vibes that I would recommend it to anyone, even a solo traveler, especially the May bar where everything is reasonably priced.

YYANSHUII booked 3 bedrooms apartment with 3 queen beds and 1 sofa bed. The room is good. The only negative feedback is about the extra charge $30 each for children over 2 years old per night, as many hotels don’t charge children under 11 if they use existing beds. And more importantly, those hotels provide the info on Trip. I was surprised when I was told about the extra charge $180 for 3 children for 2 nights, eventually negotiated down to $90. I would suggest the hotel put children policy on Trip so that people is aware of extra $30 per child (over 2 years old) when they make the booking instead of checking in.
