SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chicago O'Hare

O'Hare
We attended the Chicago International Miniature show at the nearby Marriott O'Hare. Because that hotel was full, we booked the Springhill Suites. They ran a shuttle to the other hotel with a super nice front desk staffer driving. The hotel itself was fine and the free breakfast was above average. Parking was on long surface lots on both ends of the hotel, but there is also an underground garage. The onsite Outback steakhouse was a plus. Rooms were good, nice and quiet despite being near airport and freeway with a microwave and small fridge

The overall quality is good, the quality of the breakfast is also ok. On the edge of the city centre, you can walk to the Millennium for 30 minutes. The disadvantage is that the hotel is close to the high speed, the special room window faces the high speed, and the night is noisy.
Club Quarters Hotel Central Loop, Chicago

Location is quite good as it is within walking distance of local mass transit systems, shopping, eateries, and attractions. The location is also close enough to Grant Park that you could start a run and make it to the park very quickly to continue on for a few miles. Even based on location alone, I would return to this hotel. As others had mentioned, there is a refillable water bottle station by the elevators (empty bottles also provided), which is a great feature. The elevator had a weird quirk where it would overshoot the desired floor when going up (remedy the situation by pressing the button again to send the elevator down to the desired floor). If you do some research into the hotel and its reviews prior to booking there shouldn't really be any surprises. I went into the stay having some idea of what to expect and that helped me enjoy my stay. There is no mini-fridge in the standard room, which is also on the small side but perfectly fine if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel. The only seating in the hotel room was the desk chair. Some of the furnishings could use updating but the bed felt itself was great and the room was clean. I couldn't find any in-room controls for the temperature, but I did not have a problem with this; it's just something to be aware of. The bathroom was clean and utilitarian but towels and toiletries were provided. Updated charging station/hub/clock (both USB A and USB C) for both the desk and the nightstand would go a long way. This hotel is one tenant of a building that was built in the early 1900s. If you've ever lived in a building from around that time, you get used to some things being a little bit older and quirky. Since my priorities were having a great location for a reasonable price (compared to the nearby competition) that was also clean, accessible by mass transit, and had access to an eatery, this was a good stay for me.

Very good hotel, good hotel service, will definitely choose to stay next time, anyway, very satisfied with the stay. Stay in this hotel for a meeting, go directly from the building to the venue, do not wear down jackets in winter, you can order food at night without starving.

This hotel is a far cry from the one advertised on the website. It needs a deep clean, making for a only bearable stay if you're never planning on being in the room aside from sleeping. However, the beds are not comfortable so I can't say sleep was easy come by either. Definitely bring shower shoes to wear - no bare feet on that carpet! The front desk staff do a good job selling you on downloading the hotel app, but do not be duped into thinking you might get a free night after gaining the right number of points via the app. You only get this if you make a whole new booking with a special rate from the company. This is not what the front desk clerk told me when I checked-in and I wouldn't have bothered joining if I'd been told the truth, as I never plan on staying at this hotel or with this chain again. (I wonder why I was told a falsehood...!) While the location is great, I'm not sure it's worth the money to stay here. I'd rather have paid more for a nicer experience, or booked father afield for a cleaner more pleasant hotel.

1. Didn’t asked for accesible room, but that’s what I got. 2. AC/heating system had a weird noise all night, you can’t turn it on because literally you won’t sleep. 3. Shower had someone’s else hairs in the shower wall, gross. - Hotel Manager: if you do not trust the team and their responsibilities, then you will have to do the rounds yourself to ensure your hotel is operating properly in all aspects. - Housekeeping manager: If you do not trust your people, you will have to do the rounds yourself. -If you still do your rounds but you don’t inspect the rooms properly, then you shouldn’t be in that position. Room fridge isn’t working in the rooms (front desk mentioned) so they ask you if you need one to ask front desk but they are charging for it, so who’s fault is it? client or hotel? don’t charge for something you need to repair REGARDLESS. Make no sense for customer service. Also, if you guys are having a group of “young teen/just turn 21” people, why would you put someone on the accesible room by their room? If someone requires an accesible room, in this case I didn’t required one, got assigned one, but imagine an elder person by their room. These “kids” were loud as heck until 4AM, fighting, arguing, drunk, crying, overall it was a nightmare. Normally I have a good experience with Sheratons, but this one is overrated. I chose this hotel because last minute the company I work for had a meeting suggesting to find different hotels that may give us a group rate for the upcoming visits we will have to do in Chicago, but there’s no way I will suggest my coworkers to stay at this hotel with a first time bad experience. Not sure if I would give it a second try. Can’t risk it.
