"Separated from the Summer Resort by a wall, it is a quiet corner in the hustle and bustle of the city. The proprietress and the waiter are very enthusiastic and answer all questions. The room is not very big, but it is enough for sleeping. The room is surrounded by green trees and flowers. It is very comfortable to sit in the yard to chat and drink tea. The happiest thing is our dog, who excitedly ran several laps in the yard. Outside the hotel is a commercial street with flowers and flowers, where you can eat, drink and have fun. It takes one or two minutes to walk slowly to the main entrance of the villa. After dinner, we took a walk to Erxianju Pedestrian Street and felt the long-lost fireworks in Beijing. It was a good trip. Next time, I will stay in the hotel for a few more days to have a good rest and relax."
"This hotel can be said to be the ceiling of Chengde. The environment is garden-style, each room has a different view, the waiters are very enthusiastic, helping with luggage, and there is a special person responsible for taking you to the room. The service attitude is very good, the breakfast is very rich, and I especially like to eat rice noodles. There is a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley at the door."

"The order showed that the room was on the first floor, but after arriving at the store, it was upgraded to the 4th floor. The room was clean, tidy and bright. You could lie on the simple couch by the window to bask in the sun, and watch the river view to the west and the traffic to the east. Parking is convenient and charging of new energy vehicles is easy. There is a large supermarket next to the hotel, which is suitable for shopping and dining. There is a bus stop to the Outer Eight Temples right in front of the hotel, and shared electric cars are also available. To get to the Summer Resort, walk across the river to the Wanshu Garden Gate, which takes about ten minutes to stroll. There are a full range of Chinese and Western breakfast options, and the millet and red date porridge is recommended."

"1: The bedding and pillows are quite comfortable, but the 1.8m bed feels a bit small, a bit like a 1.5m bed, not very comfortable. 2: It is specially for receiving tour groups, a bit noisy. 3: The shower in the bathroom is not very useful. The overhead shower sprays randomly when it is turned on. The handle for controlling the water temperature is loose. It gets hot when you move it slightly to the left, and cold when you move it to the right. Overall, it is average and the cost performance is not high. It is not as convenient as the hotel in the city center, and there are few restaurants around."
"I am simply too satisfied. I just blindly decided to be amazing. It turned out to be in the mountain environment. It was called a bird and flower. I woke up in the fragrance of birds and flowers. I dreamed. Haha. My mother also likes it very much. I hereby praise the boss. The boss is super enthusiastic and the people are kind. I will come back next time."

"This time I went to Chengde and booked the Puning Hotel, which is very close to the Little Potala Palace, museums, and Puning Temple. There are also many places to eat in the surrounding area and all kinds of conveniences. The courtyard of the hotel is bright and spacious, and the parent-child room with a small courtyard is very satisfactory. The service is excellent. In addition to snacks, facial masks and plasters are thoughtfully prepared as gifts, and the details are full of details. I really like the unique wallpaper in the interior, and the toiletries are also great. It’s a very satisfying accommodation experience. If I have the opportunity to stay at his house again, I hope that I will not forget my original intention, as always. . ."

"Highly recommend. We live in China and have stayed in a few different cities/hotels now and this was by far the best. The building is historic and beautiful and extremely well maintained. The rooms feel brand new and are very thoughtfully laid out. The room comes with all kinds of small conveniences in case you forgot something or need something. The staff were all extremely helpful and welcoming, from the front office staff to the housekeeping to the repair men. We arrived late on a stormy night and they went out of their way to help us figure out dinner. When the weather got worse and spoiled our plans, the staff did everything they could to rescue the weekend, even at the hotels expense. We plan to come back again when the weather is nicer and will 100% stay here. I can't imagine why you would stay anywhere else, especially if you're there to sightsee. The hotel opens directly into the park, it's wonderful."
"1. The room is spacious, and I especially like the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The green mountain scenery outside the window is pleasing to the eye. The night view is also very beautiful.
2. The service was very considerate. The front desk took the initiative to call us before we checked in and arranged an adjacent room for us and our parents near the elevator, which was very considerate.
3. Although breakfast is a buffet, the waiters are very diligent and take the initiative to help guests get food and tableware. They are not idle for a moment. Special thanks to the waiter Sun Lijing for taking very good care of my parents."

"My experience was overall good, but the bathroom of the room I booked for the first night (single, queen bed) was so stinky at night that I could not bear it. I called the concierge, and the maid came to clean the bathroom (they were very fast= good service) but the problem is in the pipes, not in the cleanliness, (it was very clean) so spraying a bit of air freshener won't solve the problem. I changed rooms the following night.
Also, it was quite noisy at night and in the early morning, they should keep an eye on noisy guests.
Last thing, but not less important, people were smoking inside the hotel corridors and it was stinky. The management should try to enforce the rules of non-smoking. I understand that know nobody in the hotel wants to call on the smoking clients, but not enforcing the law results in other clients being unhappy too.
All in all, I would probably stay there again."

"Pros:
- Helpful, responsive and friendly staff.
- Delicious restaurant ! Love their food.
- There are McD and BK nearby if you want to have fast food during the trip.
Cons:
- There was a gecko coming out from the tent in our parent child room. It went under the bed and we couldn't find it. The first night, I couldn't sleep because of afraid it would come to us. When we searched the gecko, we saw plastic and bottle under the bed. I guess they don't clean the room properly.
Conclusion :
Overall this hotel is good for us during our Chengde trip. We're happy. "

Excellent
GGuest UserThis is the place to go if you want an authentic village B&B experience. The homestay is located right in front of the Jinshanling Great Wall ticket office. The owner is amazing! He was very courteous and responsive from the very beginning, before we even arrived in Beijing. We needed a way to get to Jinshanling, so he woke up at 3 AM so he could pick us up from the train station and drive us to his homestay, in a very clean and very comfortable 6-seater minivan. We were hungry; he called ahead and we had two steaming platters of homemade dumplings waiting for us. While we ate, he ran over to the ticket office and bought our tickets to the Great Wall. He also let us check in early and put our luggage in our room. We pre-ordered a simple farm-to-table dinner, and he went to the market while we were on the wall so we could have fresh local lamb skewers that evening. When we returned, we were treated to a very local and very delicious home cooked dinner. The next morning, he drove us to our next destination (Gubei Watertown). He also picked us up from Gubei Watertown and drove us back to Beijing. The entire time, he was wonderful. He was prompt and he did everything in his power to ensure our trip was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
TTingtingThe hotel business was very good on weekends in March, and it was basically fully booked. Although the greenery in the mountains has not yet arrived, the designer's ingenuity can still be seen. The scenery should be the most beautiful from June to October. Japanese style, four-person room, more suitable for two people, the mattress is quite soft. The shower and toilet are separated into two rooms. The room has a stereo and a CD of Ryuichi Sakamoto, but no TV. There are two Japanese restaurants, a farm restaurant, and a typical Aranya canteen, but the dishes are not as rich as other Aranya restaurants. The hotel arranges many small activities, such as lantern night tours, stargazing, and hand-made, to enrich the stay experience. The service is very good, the butler provides one-to-one service, good morning and good night, asks guests if they need help, and responds and solves problems in time. Very good stay experience. The leisurely weekend passed too quickly.
GGuest UserI stayed in this place for two nights off season (at the beginning of April 2023) for a hiking weekend. The price was very fair (159 RMB per night) for a room with two beds and private bathroom, without meals. The restaurant was not open yet but the lady of the house offered to buy me breakfast and did drive me to a nearby restaurant for dinner (supermarket and restaurants are around the corner, 5-10min walking). The room was spacious and superclean with modern facilities and a reliable internet connection. The floor heating is helpful during still colder days and nights. The surrounding hilly landscape and rural countryside with endless meadows, fields, tiny villages, farmers, and an abundance of sheep, cattle, horses, donkeys, pigs, birds, and other farm animals is beautiful for hiking and horse riding, also outside the main season.
TTommy ChawAt the beginning it is hard for me to choose even the review is positive, but when I arrive and check in, I totally change my view. The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a
price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.
LLisilaoyeThe location is very good. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the Summer Resort. Taking a taxi to Putuo Zongcheng Temple and Puning Temple costs about ten yuan. Moreover, the hotel has its own parking space, which is too difficult to get. If there is a flaw in terms of location, it is that there is a railway to the east of the hotel, which is at the back of the hotel. The hotel front desk informed this when checking in, so be mentally prepared. There are about two trains every night, and I don't know why the whistle blows every time. The hotel's facilities are okay. There is a sauna on the ground floor and a self-service laundry room on the second floor, which is very convenient in summer. I stayed in a family room, and it would be perfect if there was a small refrigerator. The sanitation is good, the hotel is very new, the equipment is relatively new, and the Internet is very fast. The service is very good, warm and comprehensive. The breakfast was a bit average and felt a bit plain. If there is no complimentary breakfast coupon, it is recommended to eat around. There are many places to eat. Overall, it's good. I would consider it again in the future.

Very Good
GGuest UserStayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay.

EEdwintheEddieLocation is great.
Front desk seemed to not really know how to register foreigners, taking a long time when it’s actually quite simple process. They should be kept updated on new immigration policies China has implemented to ensure smooth process for all the guests. Also they had quite hard time to explain in Chinese (on phone) how it works to get in to Jinshanling Great Wall.
Concierge however was nice and helpful. Their service was 10/5 and raises the overall to 5/5 from 3/5.
Restaurant is fine, prices are quite high but given that food was edible and no other options it is acceptable. Breakfast is good enough.
Cleanliness is ok, bed sheets are clean but bathroom is not so clean, quite many stains. Taking better care of the room could and would allow cheaper maintenance in long term. Bit of dust also.
Hotel should offer transit service to its customers from railway station so they wouldn’t be stranded and aggressively faced by locals offering ride.
Great Wall itself is amazing so I can only hope hotel would step up its game for the future.
GGary Ong Wei KiatAbsolutely loving this place! The vibes is totally awesome and a nice place to chill with lots of activities to do, though unfortunately we only had one night here as we only planned to hike Jin Shan Ling, but we will definitely be back for more next round!
Service and hospitality is top notch and absolutely grateful to have such a nice bunch of staff who were super friendly and warm. The hotel was near Jin Shan Ling (about 5 mins drive) and they even offered to drive and pick us to and fro the hotel and Jin Shan Ling. Within the hotel, they were concerned with us feeling cold so they ferried us to our room as our room was a few mins walk away, and fetched us from our room to the lobby when we wanted to hang out at their chill areas there which turned out to be really relaxing.
They served super sumptuous meals including a hot pot set which was great for winter and even offered us complimentary dishes as part of winter solstice.
One of the staff named Henry Zhang gave us a tour at their exhibition centre showing the various scenic areas in 四季山, 金山岭 and 北京城! We enjoyed the experience sharing from him and the explanation to the various attraction sites, appreciate the sweet gesture as he didn’t actually had to do that but he did so!
Room was absolutely great and spacious, extremely clean and comfortable with heaters inside the restrooms which was super nice. It was a good night rest for us.
Breakfast was their local dishes which was great too and super filling (buns, eggs, porridge, dough sticks, specialty cold dishes).
All in all, we had no complains from the time we checked in, super loved the experience and it definitely make us want to book another trip here again soon!
RRODBy far the best accommodation in Chengde, in relation between price and quality. The service was amazing!!! I don't know how much money the reception ladies make, but they deserve a raise, every single time I had a question they were able to answer, from places to go, to places to eat. Limited english support, of course, but a translation app does the job. The room I stayed in was male-only. The beds all had curtains, an indoor light, and a private plug for charging, so no complaints. The in-room bathroom was always clean aswell.
The only con would be the amenities, no towel, no toothbrush, but I had brought my own so not a problem for me, and this is begging to look like common practice at hostels worlwide. And you need to make your own bed. Aside from that everything was perfect.

GGuest UserThe room is clean and hygienic.
The facilities are complete and the service is thoughtful. It is very close to the Summer Resort and just opposite. It is not far from other attractions. There is a bus stop at the door of the hotel. You can take the bus to visit other attractions. It is very convenient. If you drive, you can also park for free.
