The Slaughters Manor House

Just had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. Our delux room was up in the eves of this large property up many stairs and corridors. Two small windows with very limited view of, anything. Furniture shabby and chipped. TV not tuned correctly so no channels displayed.. Bathroom good size, decent shower but cheap toilet paper. Strangely the cold tap also ran hot!! While there our room wasn't serviced iether. Now the food. Small intense portions, jumbo fish the size of two postage stamps. Enjoyed the fresh homemade bread at the evening meal though. No buffet starters for breakfast, everything had to be ordered, so waiting long periods for each item to arrive again smoked haddock 2 postage stamps. Surely a hotel of this size could run to a small buffet for cereals and juice etc. The toast was thin, cheap and underdone. As a bonus I found the snooker room, lovely table, spoiled by having only 2 cheap pool cues to play with. Be aware, most items ordered in the bar carry a £5 service charge which we only discovered on checkout final bill. The one redeeming feature of this hotel was the staff, friendly, accommodating, hard working and professional. So an expensive, disappointing, irritating few days, we will not be returning.

Stayed three nights in the Prestbury Suite and wish we could have stayed longer. Beautifully furnished with everything you could need, a really comfortable bed, and virtually no outside to give you a good night's sleep. We thought the welcome pack was very generous, and didn't need to buy anything else in for breakfast during our whole stay. The apartments are in a great location just a few minutes from the town centre, and if you head in the opposite direction then try The Kemble for a traditional British pub feel, and The Vine for craft beers and great Thai food.

An invincible manor hotel! Stayed only one night because of the itinerary, it's a shame! Feel the charm of the English manor! The air is super good! The scenery is invincible! Great breakfast! Warm service! Noble experience! Super recommended!
The Old Stocks Inn

We received a very friendly and efficient welcome from Richard, who helped us carry our cases up to our room on the first floor – I believe it is classified as an ‘Amazing Great Room’. Big king+ size bed and lovely large walk-in shower; there’s also a stylish claw-foot bath for those who can get in and out of such things, which no longer includes me. The bathroom is large and well appointed, but there’s a big crack in the sink. I loved the really big waste paper basket. A handrail to the upper level of the staircase would be very welcome. Hospitality tray; good teas, and good to see fresh milk in fridge. But you could perhaps re-think the Bronte biscuits, which I find over-sweet. Dinner was excellent; we both had the lamb with aubergines, anchovies etc, and thought it was the best lamb we’d ever had. Then I had the hazelnut choux pastry, which was superb. Breakfast was fine too; the selection of fruit and cereals is well presented and varied, with the apricots in orange syrup a stand-out. I had a selection from the cooked breakfast, and my husband had eggs benedict. The sausage was particularly tasty. The hotel was very busy on the Friday evening, but it didn't significantly affect the service for dinner. I had a champagne cocktail beforehand; times being what they are, it was actually English sparkling wine, but it was really good and I was practically pie-eyed before we moved into the restaurant – haven't had one for ages, but it was so worth it. I had smoked trout to start with some sort of pickled cucumber, and my husband had tortellini with mushroom sauce; then we both had pork two ways, very easy to eat and excellent. (Not sure what the singular of tortellini is, but there was just one large one.) I should also add that the hot mini-loaf that comes at the start of the meal is also very agreeable. There is a real sense of occasion when dining here, which is the mark of a good hotel. The staff are personable and enthusiastic and were very welcoming when we arrived in the restaurant. It all made for an enjoyable break.
Cowley Manor Experimental

The address location is not in which tourist town, it is here to experience the manor life of the English countryside. The hotel occupies a huge area, and has not finished shopping for more than half an hour. Many ancient buildings and sculptures. The restaurant is super beautiful and can be used for lunch and dinner here. For breakfast, only take cold food, and the meal will be paid separately. Service is very good, butler style. The room is actually a three-story duplex, the style is more beautiful than the rural mix, but the three floors will be a little inconvenient. Other big room types are not available at the time. Travel to the town attractions for a chartered tour. In short, the trip is worthwhile and the memory is profound. Looking for a different English country rich experience, come here!

The house is a loft, made of stone and wood, with a large and clean space, a double bed upstairs, a toilet, a sofa bed downstairs, a cloakroom under the stairs, and a small alcove! The scenery outside the house is very beautiful, with a small river passing by the door, surrounded by green lawns, and surrounding farms with horses! Breakfast is super delicious! It’s a pity that I didn’t choose to book dinner when I checked in the day before. Judging from the deliciousness of the breakfast, I can infer that the dinner must be good!
