It is a relatively old-fashioned hotel type, but the English at the front desk has to be very standard, there are not many types of breakfast, but it fully meets the needs, the proprietress and each table say hello and chat, the surrounding environment is also very good, unfortunately did not go shopping.

We were assigned this hotel as part of a hockey package while traveling to a Buffalo area tournament. The stay could not have been better. The front desk staff, hotel staff, housekeeping and management were more than accommodating to all of our needs. They provided access to a conference room for the team to eat in, hang out and play. There was an additional lobby area with computers for the kids, and an outdoor grill that could be used when dinner plans changed. The kids especially liked the pool table and games in the main lobby. The salt water pool was also a hit! We had early morning games and the hotel ensured that the breakfast area was open and ready for us before the normal time (and stayed open later to accommodate us after games). The pancake maker was such a fun surprise for the kids -- along with all of the toppings! Marilyn walked around with whipped cream topping off the hot chocolates for any kid that wanted it. What a treat! The rooms were clean, with comfortable beds and NO carpet which was a huge plus. The lack of closets and dressers was a bit strange, but there was space to put everything. Would definitely recommend this hotel to any team looking to stay in the area, or families with kids.

The hotel should be considered next to Buffalo City, about 30 minutes from the waterfall, a little drive away. The first room was arranged next to the road and it felt a bit noisy. After communicating, I quickly changed to a room inside, free parking, it is very convenient, and there are some restaurants around. Simple meals are also convenient. There is a laundry room, and the service desk downstairs can buy washing powder and change coins. Still recommended hotel

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst for one night while we attended a wedding across the street. The hotel was lovely and clean with a beautiful and welcoming firepit, plenty of convenient parking, a nice workstation area, and very large rooms with super comfortable beds! The staff was friendly, the halls and surrounding areas were nice and quiet, and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the location (surroundings) and appearance from the outside. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised. Fitness area was nice. Pool (indoor) was small and closed at 8pm. Grab and Go breakfast selection was extremely limited. Hotel is 2 floors with an elevator. Check in and check out was easy and friendly. Hotel was clean inside including lobby, breakfast area, fitness room, and most importantly our room. Our room was on the 2nd floor, 2 queen beds. Room was of nice size, including bathroom area. Refrigerator, desk, sitting chairs all in room. TV screen was a tad small and a few of the tv remote features didn't work...but overall this was a nice room. Don't let the surroundings or location scare you away, this is a nice place to stay.

Stayed here while in town for an appointment. Had previously stayed at a competitor property next door with a horrible stay. We were very pleased to find that the experience didn't carry over for the area. While there were a few items that could have been better (more on that below), we were happy with our stay. All of the staff that we interacted with were extremely welcoming and helpful. A few items that could have been better that we noted was the transition from the hard floor to the carpet in the room needed some attention. The carpet could be replaced as it is worn at the transition area which is expected over time. Otherwise the room was clean as were all areas of the hotel that we accessed. The little store area was unique and well stocked with a variety of options and seemed to have far better pricing that what one would expect at a hotel. If back in the Buffalo Amherst area, we would stay here again as it is far better than some others near by!

We stayed at The Sleep Inn Buffalo Amherst on September 14/15th (one night) 2022 in Room 514. First impression of the place pretty clean and inviting though a little dark and slightly outdated. The receptionist, Melanie, was outstanding, super friendly and followed through with all our requests. She made our stay exceptional! As far as the room - adequate. There are a few MINOR maintenance and housekeeping issues that should be addressed to make the room better: 1. The bathroom toilet paper dispenser had used up roll of paper on it with only one use remaining! It had the customary “v” fold so I know housekeeping saw it but let it fly. See photo below. 2. Speaking of “fly” there was a fly buzzing around in the room when we first entered. Very annoying. Had to swat it. 3. The bathroom light (not the shower) works but intermittently. It takes a few tries to get it to come on. Probably the switch needs replaced. 4. The bathroom door does not lock from inside. Needs slight adjustment. 5. The shower head pipe coming from the wall has a cover plate that will not stay in place and slides out from the wall and falls on the shower head. 6. At the bottom of the shower door, inside and outside, there is an ugly buildup of mold/mildew. Needs cleaned better. 7. The room has a slight mildew odor and smells like feet. Maybe it needs a good shampooing. Overall, a pleasant stay. The breakfast, on Sept 15, was much better than we expected. Plenty of everything to make for a great breakfast. The dining area employee (did not catch her name, from Cambodia) was super nice and friendly and talked to us at length and asked us how our stay was; which was overall great!

GGuest UserWe have booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids (king size bed + sofa bed). The sofa bed is a bit different, and rather uncomfortable; the bedding needs to be requested from the receptionist. The room is somewhat small compared with other adjacent Marriott properties, but it has a full-size fridge and was clean. The front desk staff was courteous and promptly addressed all requests. The buffet breakfast was somewhat disappointing (only 2 hot dishes available), but you will not leave hungry. The parking is free. No noise from the planes. Overall, this place is fine for an overnight stay, but for a longer period you may need a larger suite.

GGuest UserRight away the staff was super friendly and got us to our room quickly. The room was super clean, comfortable and quiet. Loved having the table that we pulled out and ate a nice dinner on, using the dishes and silverware in the kitchen. Nice lighting options for when you want to stay up while your better half sleeps. Curtain between sitting area and bed. Will stay again if we are in the area!

Yygmm0901Clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet, and free coffee all day buffet in the lobby. There is also a hotel with a similar name nearby, which is easy to make mistakes. The front desk says that every day there is something wrong. The surrounding area is not very lively, there are two large supermarkets not far away. The hotel is very close to the airport. The hotel has a free bus to the airport, half an hour.

XXIAOHONGVery close to the airport, we were late for the plane that day, arrived at one o'clock in the morning, the hotel shuttle bus has been off work, call the front desk to let us take a taxi, the hotel is reimbursed, there is a taxi at the airport, so it went to the hotel very smoothly, the original Worried about the situation, the front desk staff was very enthusiastic and very satisfied. The hotel is in good condition in all aspects, very quiet, the room is a suite, very spacious, the price is not expensive, self-driving is recommended.

GGuest UserHotel was under renovations at the time so I'll give them that. But rooms were dirty, smelled, and didn't seem sanitized. Tried to mask the smell with baby powder smells throughout hallways. No pool. Had a conference room that was convenient but nothing fancy about it. Beds were quite uncomfortable. Nicest thing about hotel was the bar attached that had a good menu and alcohol selection; and you could walk to Denny's and walk to the Speedway for snacks.

GGuest UserThis hotel is old and dumpy. The beds are very uncomfortable and the pillows are worse. We booked through the site for 2 nights Tuesday August 16th and Wednesday August 17th; the site quoted $156 for the first nite and $166 for the second night. When we got the bill the first night was charged @ $156.66, the second night there was a charge of $176.38 PLUS an additional Tax Recovery Charge of $165.67 giving us the grand total of $498.71. The air conditioning was set at 68 when we arrived and although we turned it up to 77' it took two days to warm up. We had to ask for additonal blankets and they also brought up a heater. We asked for an additional luggage rack as we each had a suitcase and there was one in the room. I can appreciate it being post Covid and the industry but the sheets were so heavily ?starched, I itched all night. All in all a major disappointment and definitely not worth the money we shelled out to stay there. We have travelled in the US quite a bit and I can honestly say we have NEVER stayed in such a terrible hotel. The misleading advertising on the website as to what the prices are if you if you book direct. Clearly the fees we saw when we booked were not the ones on our final bill. I was never so happy to go home.
