When I first walked in the hotel, I was nervous that it was going to be a little dated, as the main lobby has a fairly old style to it. This was an extended business trip (6 days) so my hopes had been a little higher that they usually are when traveling for work. Once your past reception, the rooms are very modern, with plenty of charging points and USB ports for plug free charging. The room was also very large, with 2 kingsize beds and a large bathroom. The staff are incredibly friendly, and really will go out of their way to help. Word of warning, they aren't the best at having guest parcels delivered, as they will store them in corridors and struggle to find them. I eventually managed to convince them to let me go ”back stage” and look myself, and I found my parcels in a corridor outside the mail room. The bar/restaurant at the hotel is well stocked, and the food is amazing. The choice at breakfast is also excellent, with the option of fresh made omelettes as well as the typical buffet. The hotel is linked to a YMCA fitness centre that is free for guests to use. It's a very modern gym with lots of cardio and resistance training equipment. They also have a large pool and sauna, as well as a half basketball court. Overall, an excellent hotel, friendly staff, and great facilities.

My stay at the hotel was very comfortable but I was surprised to find that the hotel does not offer a complimentary bottle of water which I think is a must for a traveler coming from far off places. I have to go outside searching for a water bottle.

This was perfect due to its proximity to Spectrum Center. Once the valet took the car I didn't want to drive again so we were able to walk to restaurants and the Spectrum Center. There was sort of a crowd at 3 o'clock check-in time at the valet area and then the check-in desk. We actually had to wait about an hour for our room to be ready. The room was very nice though. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was really nice and clean. We were on the 11th floor, but could still hear the light rail train bell dinging. I recommend leaving the air running constantly to drown out the noise.

Wonderful stay. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating. I was especially impressed with Wanda (breakfast-omelette extraordinaire), Linda, who always went the second-mile to ensure we had what we needed. I travel often and it’s rare that I encounter hotel experiences this close to flawless. Wonderful work Embassy Suites-Uptown!

I’ve been using the Hyatt for years and it is always a great experience. Easy check in/out and the front desk staff/valet were amazing. The rooms was the exact one I booked, which is an issue I had with other hotel chains in the past. Looking forward to booking next month.

The room itself wasn’t bad. The TV had a couple issues but was fine otherwise. I was quite disappointed in the customer service after checking out. I stayed here with my friend for his birthday, so I brought his birthday gift (hand painted canvas that had a paper note/card tucked in the back) to the room to give to him. Unfortunately, it was left there when we checked out. I called the same day (yesterday) and was told they would talk to housekeeping and call me right back. Got no call. I called again this morning at 9:30 and got transferred to housekeeping. She said she had some items to go through and would call me back to let me know if she found it. Almost 5 hours pass by and nothing, so I called back and couldn’t get through to housekeeping. I talked to someone at the front desk, explaining that this was pretty important because I spent a lot of time on the gift and apologizing for being an inconvenience. The person acted irritated and very nonchalant and then put me on hold for nearly 30 minutes while “going to talk to housekeeping.” Also said “Well if it was on a piece of paper then they probably threw it away” even after I had previously said it was a CANVAS painting. After being on hold for so long, they came on the phone and said that they looked in the room and didn’t find anything. I asked if they had looked through the items that housekeeping mentioned before and received a rude, “Yeah that’s what I said, they looked everywhere and didn’t find anything.” I could feel them rolling their eyes through the phone. They didn’t apologize or anything of the sort at the end of the phone call, which was the least that could have been done. Very unprofessional and very bad customer service.
