We stayed at the Villa Romeo for 5 nights and had an excellent experience. The hotel is very well situated, right across the street from Palermo Centrale train and bus station, and 10 mins by car from Catania airport. The building is ancient but very well maintained. Rooms were spacy and spotlessly clean. Slightly noisy during the night due to some external sounds, maybe air conditioning machines, but nothing much. Breakfast was simple but tasty, fresh bread and great coffee to order. A special word on Francesco at the reception, who was outstanding with arrangements, always had great advice on places to visit and was even instrumental in getting back my wife's purse, forgotten on a train carriage. All in all a great experience.

I stayed a weekend at Palazzo Sangiorgio and had some fantastic days. We had booked a superior room and were upgraded to a deluxe room. The room was very clean, well furnished, comfortable and with a large shower. Upon our arrival we were also offered a welcome drink. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and for those who love pistachio I highly recommend their sweet potato gnocchi with pistachio cream, bacon and stracciatella... really good. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is attentive and professional, ensuring impeccable service. It will be my reference structure for my next stay in Catania, I highly recommend it.

The hotel is perfect for enjoying the sea and is very comfortable in the centre. The structure is new and very clean. The price quality was excellent. The rooms are well furnished and with the refrigerator. Also very recommended for a varied and abundant breakfast. The staff, all young, is innocent. The windows of the first floor are very small. I liked it and I hope I'll be back soon.

- Breakfast for Italy was oookay - Far away from the center, a city bus comes once in hour, which in terms of Sicily - never. But okay. - The hotel is on the sea side, but it does not have a beach [one should use a public beach 10-15 minutes away] - In my room, in the bathroom every morning I had water coming from the ceiling from the higher floor. Told at reception. They did not solve it for a few days before i left. - air conditioning was super noisy I had to stop it before going sleep - the swimming pool was open from 9-19hh, thus leaving for a work duty around 8 and coming back around 7,the pool was not useful for me - The hotel is used to rent its own restaurant next to the pool to different events, so, especially on weekends there is loud music until super late. The reception was not able to stop the music then I asked around 1 am.... this is strange - they let some external people to party loudly till late at the expense of their guests

First of of all I want to thank Vincenzo and Claudia C at the reception. They are a very good asset for the hotel, always very prompt to help with excellent service always with a smile. Our room was very clean, I thank Giusi, at the first floor of the hotel ,she really does her job very well with attention to detail, most of the times you rarely find even in 5 star hotels,she is an other asset. The hotel is very comfortable, good position, very clean and has great safe private and secure parking. Definitely will revisit when in Sicily.

Basic facts about hotel are true, but description omits to say the pool is small, with only 30 beds fitting comfortably around it. The pool music is aimed at teenagers and completely out of character with the hotel and age profile of its guests. Hotel reception staff unhelpful and rude. Area around hotel is dirty and streets full of litter and unsafe to walk due to traffic. Shuttle to local town is infrequent. 25 minute walk down a very steep road. There is no beach anywhere near, you have to sunbathe on rocks. Food in restaurant very limited if on half board with a choice of only pasta or fish most nights. When asked to upgrade to a room with a balcony it was going to cost £209 more for the week but had to go bed & breakfast not half board, so more money for less meals. Unable to hire a car from the hotel, you have to go to Catania airport to pick up.

GGuest UserWe last stayed here 4 years ago for one night before our flight home the following day. We decided to do the same again this year and our stay was once again very good. Our room was overlooking the courtyard which was absolutely fine. It was spacious with a really nice bathroom and comfortable bed. The key card entry system to get into the room once again foxed us for a few minutes. We visited the roof top bar for a drink after eating out and were surprised at how quiet it was, I guess the hospitality industry is still suffering to some extent. This really is a fabulous spot and we very much enjoyed our drink. We payed extra for our breakfast to enjoy the view of Etna, which undoubtable is lovely. The last time we stayed we were offered table service and a great selection of hot food this time it was a self service buffet, there was a good choice and some hot options, however a little pricy. You clearly are paying extra for the view. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. When we are next in Sicily we will definitely return.

A very big plus point for this hotel is that it does have a lift, a small lift, but I have stayed in old building like this and having a lift is a bonus. Another bonus was the FREE safe in the room, again I have stayed in similar hotels that charge for this. We booked a superior room to make sure we had an EnSite bathroom, the room was large (very large) with a nice balcony overlooking Via Etnea, despite this the room was very quiet at a nighttime even though the street remained very busy. No breakfast here, but a very nice cafe on the street next door and numerous other places for breakfast close by. Would I stay here again, defiantly but I would go for the Superior room again.

Clean, the surrounding environment is very good, there is a restaurant on the first floor, and there is a swimming pool on the top floor, but it is not open because of the epidemic. The front desk will be in English.

Modern hotel in a convenient and central location, served by a stop of the airport shuttle bus. It is small (fully transparent name: though, why do rooms have a 3-digit number if there are only 8 ?) and sort of minimalistic, but clean, functional and quiet. Some easy improvements could make a big difference, such as a little tray in the shower (I had to keep the soap on the floor) and a towel hook near the wash basin (I had to use the bidet to hold the hand towel). There is a tiny terrace for the ground floor rooms, while upstairs there are more pleasant little balconies for each room. There is a little enclosed area available for car parking, not sure if available to guests. The staff was cordial and helpful. I found the price commensurate with its characteristics. I would go back, but ensure I have a room upstairs.

GGuest UserStayed here on the first 2 nights of our holiday in Sicily. We got there very early and they had our room ready, which was very convenient since we arrived quite exhausted because of the flight. The room was clean, not too large but what can you expect with a boutique hotel. The hotel had a very comfortable temperature, nice and cool compared to the outside temperature. The airconditioning worked very well, within a few minutes the room seemed to be cooled down already. Staff was friendly and welcoming as well. The only point of improvement would be the breakfast choices. For someone who is not a fan of meat and cheese, there were only sweet pastries to choose from. Some vegetables and a larger choice of bread would've been ideal. In terms of location I think we couldn't have had a better location. It is on a walking distance from the city center and close to the station as well.

Location is good.
I won’t recommend the hotel due to the one rude staff who blamed me for putting a key on the wrong door(there were two doors before the reception).
At that time I was super tired after walking all day but he ordered me to wait until he finished talking on the phone with angry face. He called me off that I almost damaged the door by clicking the key too much and the other customers could haven’t use it then I have to pay for the damage. He even mentioned the price for it.
Then I had to show him that I can use the keys in the right place and turn them properly.
The worst customer service I’ve ever had and my trip was damaged..

Everything is walkable by distance, even to the airport is possible! Took me 55 minutes (I did it 5am in the morning, I don’t recommend doing it any other time of the day) as it might get busier..the pavements are okay but not the best for pedestrians

AAnonymous UserThe location is very good, really near from the tourist attractions. It is also surrounded with restaurants and bars. The big local market is just right to the next street. The neighborhood may look odd from the beginning but it is safe. The bed is comfortable. This is a free breakfast place, but the breakfast options are the easy to go ones. The owner doesn’t speak English but can work with google translate. He also offers a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel for €20. The walls are so thin so you can hear everything outside of your bedroom. This is most likely ideal for young people as the place is in front of different bars, so, it is very loud during the evening until 1 in the night.
