The hotel is rated 3 stars, but it needs a lot of TLC to be rated that highly. The staff is courteous, kind and helpful, but the building needs additional care. Our group rented 6 rooms so I was able to check out a lot of spaces in the hotel. All of the rooms ending in 03 (203, 303, …) have an emergency exit to the fire escape - safety! Good. Unfortunately those exits are illuminated with an exit sign that is always illuminated - if you need a very dark room to sleep, bring an eye covering mask. The room portrayed in the picture depicts the best room on each floor - 201, 301, … choose these more expensive rooms for a more pleasant stay. One of our rooms, the ceiling fan control was broken. Our room’s refrigerator control had no knob - I got it to work with much effort, but a knob would be nice - unfortunately, due to its vintage, finding a part like that may be impossible. A few simple things would go a long way to make it deserving of its 3 star rating: A fresh coat of paint on the walls, a thorough cleaning of the bathrooms - new caulk and replace some sink fixtures, update refrigerators in rooms (some have very worn and rusted interiors. Each room has a great minisplit air conditioners, clean comfortable beds and sheets, decent WiFi, a very good courteous staff
