There are many structures in Italy that date back to 1100 and earlier. Some have been well restored and repurposed for the comfort of travellers who want to be surrounded by beauty, enriched with culture and treated like royalty. This is one of those properties. Abbiamo soggiornato per una sola notte in questo delizioso B&B situato in un palazzo d’epoca nel piccolo borgo di Serre di Rapolano. La nostra camera era la Glicine ampia, dotata di ogni comfort e pulitissima così come tutti gli altri spazi comuni. La colazione, con ottime torte fatte in casa, viene servita in un grande salone. Un plauso particolare va all’accoglienza riservataci dalla simpatica e vulcanica Yudi, pronta a fornirci tutte le indicazioni utili al nostro breve soggiorno.

Hotel dei Capitani is situated on the edge of Montalcino (only a 5 min walk from the centre) with spectacular views of the valley below. Rooms are quite small but provide wonderful views, a comfy bed and a well equipped bathroom. A good selection of cereals, pastries, etc were provided for breakfast on the terrace overlooking miles of Brunello vineyards below. There are some excellent restaurants in Montalcino so we didn't have dinner in the restaurant.

I instigated this trip to Tuscany with my mom because she’s never been, and to the Rosewood specifically because I’ve always enjoyed my stays in London. And Castiglion del Bosco didn’t disappoint, in the slightest. The staff was so unbelievably kind and thoughtful… even when we had a slight issue with our beautiful room, they were so attentive and proactively upgraded us so we were comfortable and happy. Their attention to detail leaves you feeling completely taken care of. And the resort is exactly what you come for. The guest relations, housekeeping, spa, and winery staff were so lovely, my mom was on cloud 9! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!
