The hotel’s location is strategic. My 1st time in Seberang Jaya. The staffs were all very helpful and friendly. Even the bell boy & housekeeping boy, I cant remember his real name but he kept my AlQuran neatly on the table. Thanks. The room i was staying in had a very amazing view during day & night as it facing the city. Thanks for the warm hospitality as i felt welcomed. But something to improve with the toilet. Please check with the toilet system or something regarding the the ventilating system. I had problem with the security box too but the staffs came immediately to fix it. Overall, other than those prob, hotel was good!

Courteous staffs. Check in seems compulsory to use the self check in machine. But it's a user friendly and smooth. Check out can use self service machine or through the receptionist staffs. No in room dining menu in the room, but probably need to call/ask. Anyone can access guest rooms floor as there's no access card restrictions, I hope can improve on this for security reason. Good amenities overall. I like the colgate brand toothpaste. Feels legit and clean using it. Soap amd shampoo formulated by Tanamera. Love the soft pillows and bed as well. Breakfast buffet is so and so in terms of options compared to other 4 stars hotel, but I think it's enough. All tasted good. Located just right next to Sunway Medical Center and walking distance to few shop lot restaurants both halal and non halal. But for some, including Sunway Carnival Mall, you need to cross road manually(no traffic lights for pedestrian). Quite easy to get ehailing from the hotel. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Got informed a day before, that the room that booked is redundant with other customer booking. Accepted it without argue because already tired from travel.
So the room got additional bed but in bad condition. The bed was broke once sitted. But get fixed in a second. Then was change to other room with same condition. Meh
Got cockroach room both rooms, old furniture, tv no sound 1 room , shower cannot adjust the temperature 1 room and was CHARGED RM30 for dirty bedsheet NOT because durian, mangosteen or dragon fruit . Its just normal stain from snacks. Paid just because fed up with everything.

The house looked a little creepy and heavily filled with plantations, but it's actually nice and not that bad. Good to experience the vintage feel. Just that the room's sizes are not standardized. Some rooms are small while some are spacious but with the same price.
They have all basic necessities given however no laundry machine as stated in amenities.

my husband and i chose to stay here because it is within walking distance to a bridal studio that we were engaged with. it is an average, small room with not much room for walking after we put 2 luggages on the floor. cleanliness is okay. not many tv channels. there is a water station outside our room. shower head water pressure is a little low. the knob (not sure if this is what you call it), which you pull to turn on the water doesnt indicate the temperature but rather the water pressure. if you turn it to your left, the water gets little. ifyou turn it to your right, it comes down in torrents. i find it weird and off bcz that is not how the water knob works. receptionist works almost at a snail-like pace. breakfast is a simple set of eggs and bread in different cooking way. but there is a cafe downstairs which serves better breakfast that what the hotel can offer. however, that will cost more. we paid about RM50 for a breakfast there on our first day. there is a kopitiam nearby, serving local food for breakfast n lunch. we had wantan mee there on our second day which costs only RM10 for 2 pax. hailing rides are easy so you can either rent a car to drive around or just call for Grab.

Considering there’s more and more institutions, industries and factories here in Batu Kawan, The Upper House served as the only hotel currently at this area, so definitely suitable to those might coming here for business/work trip. Or even for people who just want to get a rest place and explore the mainland of Penang like me. They have room catered for solo traveller and it is very spacious for one person like me. Big and comfortable bed with smart TV in the front. There’s work desk beside as well. Lots of plugs and USB chargers in the room, with amenities like safe, small fridge, dryer and water basin. There’s also space to keep your big luggage under the bed. The toilet and bathroom are combined together, so it is total spacious inside. The heater however can reach warm only at the maximum for my room. Unlike most hotel with carpet flooring which is soft when your foot step on it, here like stepping on concrete and unpleasant for me. I would recommend you to prepare additional sock to wear. The air conditioning in the room is not quiet enough for me when sleeping, as it will produce sound even I have set it lower. But the cold temperature is good for me. Although the location is located conveniently in this new township, there’s not a lot of eating places around here, unless you go to Design Village or IKEA. Also it is very hard to walk around here. The commercial area in front of the hotel was a consider a ghost town, but hopefully it will get better in future; since this is a very new area. If you are staying here, do remember to check out their swimming pool at the rooftop as well.

Worst experience in 5 star Hotel. Despite being a five-star establishment, my stay did not meet the expectations associated with this rating. Firstly, the level of noise throughout the hotel was quite disruptive. Unfortunately we got connecting room and the problem is the room is not sound-proof. I could hear conversations and children playing sounds from neighboring rooms, which affected my comfort and ability to relax. I went to receptions and the staff solution was she will call the next door room and ask the children to be quiet. What?? It not solve the problem which is the room is not sound proof and the children will not able to stay quiet 24H during our stay. We managed call the manager after waited 2H in the lobby. Finally the manager agreed to change the room but the exchange room is not the same room package as we booked before. This is quite disappointing.
I had hoped for a higher standard of service given the hotel's reputation. And if everyone want to come please make sure get room which is not connection room otherwise your holiday will be spoil. Otherwise the hotel lobby area and amenities is excellent.

Supervisor didnt check the room properly. Hope management will take actions and housekeeping supervisor double check the room before let the guest checking in.
