I had to choose this hotel as I needed to redeem my last few miles in the Intermiles program so what I indeed made was to ”burn” miles in the lowest level of mileage for 1 night in a Buenos Aires hotel. The best option so far was Frossard hotel and I have to state it is an acceptable property according to the published rates . The very first I learned was an extra fee -not expressed in any travel website- that in September 2022 is worth 800 ARS when the check in happens after 10 PM. I found that to be abusive and going against consumer rights as it is not explicited in writing in any travel website. Good traits are location as it is located in the heart of downtown, continental breakfast served in ”Los Inmortales” cafeteria (has good wi fi but no newspaper is provided), and TV access has Netflix but no access to air and cable tv of Buenos Aires. Rooms are confortable according to the star category of the establishement. The Venezuelan folk at the Front Desk is really kind, welcoming and empatic! Features that are drawbacks: check out at 10 am is really too early as that means a non-competitive time compared to several hotels in the city. Besides, no desktop computer is available.

We stay on the ground and I believe that each room has its characteristics, then: positive points: care (super sympathetic and performing receptionists); shared kitchen; location; meets our needs. Negative points: small room, very small bathroom and boxing up to uncomfortable, bed and dressing somewhat uncomfortable; our room was near the kitchen, so sometimes the morning noise catches a little. Although they have more negative points, we recommend :)

San Telmo
We had a good experience overall here, the room was nice, fluffy towels, close to shops, breakfast was very nice and good value ...But it was the staff who made our stay so great. We stayed here at the beginning and then again at the end of our 3 week trip. They booked a taxi for us arriving from the UK which was so reassuring to have in advance. They checked us in early when we arrived. Another colleague explained the currency situation- very helpful. And finally they helped us out in a bit of a crisis. My husband left his mobile in the taxi on the way to the airport when we were leaving Argentina. I called the hostel who had booked the taxi for us and the wonderful woman there contacted the driver and he came back to the airport- you never saw 2 more relieved people! Luckily we had given ourselves extra time at the airport so we were still in plenty of time. I'm so glad we stayed here rather than a hotel. The lonely planet said it was as good as a mid range hotel and it has a lot more going for it with all the help, hints and tips from the staff.
