When I made the reservation, I thought it was a Japanese hotel because the hotel name was Yadoya, but maybe it's not. However, ``Yadoya'' means ryokan (Japanese-style inn), so perhaps they are aiming for a hotel that is similar to a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn).
I don't think the cleanliness is a problem.
The location is good, 15 minutes walk from Brussels North Station, 20 minutes walk from Grand Place, and there are supermarkets and restaurants relatively nearby.
The safety box in the room I stayed in was locked and unusable, and I was told that I would have to be present to repair it. When I returned to my room from sightseeing, I called the front desk, but it was crowded and no one answered the phone.
As with other Brussels hotels, amenities are minimal - no toothbrush set.
It was impressive to see a Japanese 5-yen coin embedded in the center of the round glass table in the room.
