Hostel Bruegel

PRO's : Location is great, a 10 minute walk from Central station, right next to Chapelle station (if using local trains), fairly central to most sights and area's within Brussels, easy to get around to other parts of Belgium, good transport all around the area. The area is nice with bars, restaurants and shops and fairly quiet. Breakfast was as good as you'd expect Staff were friendly and helpful Hostel had a relaxed atmosphere and environment with a mixture of people of all ages, demographics etc. CON's:· The beds were very creaky in my room and wobbled when climbing on to the top bunk. Room was fairly small for 4 people, especially if there are 4 strangers. Bed was ok, mattress a bit hard though and pillow too soft No bin in the room. One of my room 'mates' snored really loudly most of the night and then had massive hacking coughing fits when he woke up [not the hostel's fault though]

Dirty linen. Thé bedding was not washed from thé previous visitors. Thé personnel was not friendly while i very quietly mentioned this problem. Thén they said that we had to go to another hotel to another hotel without a refund bever again we Will come back.

The place is dirty, the workers are rude and even aggressive . The is very small, even for hostel in Europe. mattresses are very old and discussing and bathroom had mold and all kind of strange people (homeless?) are using it. Towels are extra!

This was the worst hotel we have ever been to . The room was filthy and we believe there may have been bed bugs . We talked to the manager and were blown off. We had no choice for the first night but then quickly left and did not get any refund . The management and cleaning staff at this hotel are awful! It’s not worth staying here for free

I went in late Sept. 2023. The hostel was quite a trek from the train station if purely walking and took me some time to locate. There is a bus that goes along this street once you get your bearings that you could use to reduce the walking. Once I got my bearings, using public transit was a cinch to navigate to the tourist attractions. My private room consisted of two bunk beds. Breakfast was included and was decent. There were adequate shared restrooms- with both single-use room and the larger one with multiple stalls and showers.

This hostel is 20 min away by foot from the city center and the staff was very nice. Rooms were clean and fine, although I was there during a heatwave and without a fan or AC in the room, it was way too hot Except for that, I had a nice time for good value !
